On this first weekend in August, Catch the Fire Ministries celebrates 13 years of prayer across Australia, under the banner of ‘Rise Up Australia’ according to Prayer and Repentance.

Pastor Daniel states ‘13’ is a very significant number after 13 rounds of marching around Jericho the walls collapsed.

We believe the walls of opposition that have been holding back the move of the Holy Spirit will collapse this year and we will see Australia turn back to Jesus in the next 7 years with a mandate to possess the land and government.

Ana’s coming to Australia at this time is a strategic time in the Lord’s prophetic calendar for Australia, so close to the elections and at the beginning of the 40 day prayer and fasting of the Australian Prayer Network for the elections to prayerfully bring in a Godly Government.

Preachers must set an agenda for biblical confrontation over homosexuality

by Albert Mohler – May 30, 2013

The church’s engagement with the culture involves a host of issues, controversies, and decisions–but no issue defines our current cultural crisis as clearly as homosexuality. Some churches and denominations have capitulated to the demands of the homosexual rights movement, and now accept homosexuality as a fully valid lifestyle.

Other denominations are tottering on the brink, and without a massive conservative resistance, they are almost certain to abandon biblical truth and bless what the Bible condemns. Within a few short years, a major dividing line has become evident–with those churches endorsing homosexuality on one side, and those stubbornly resisting the cultural tide on the other.

The homosexual rights movement understands that the evangelical church is one of the last resistance movements committed to a biblical morality. Because of this, the movement has adopted a strategy of isolating Christian opposition, and forcing change by political action and cultural pressure.

Can we count on evangelicals to remain steadfastly biblical on this issue? Not hardly. Scientific surveys and informal observation reveal that we have experienced a significant loss of conviction among youth and young adults. No moral revolution can succeed without shaping and changing the minds of young people and children.

Inevitably, the schools have become crucial battlegrounds for the culture war. The Christian worldview has been undermined by pervasive curricula that teach moral relativism, reduce moral commandments to personal values, and promote homosexuality as a legitimate and attractive lifestyle option.

Time to re think Islamic terrorism – It’s a war stupid

Irish Central ^ | Ed Farnan – Posted on May 29, 2013

The Boston terror bombing brings home the fact we are in a state of war, even though our government leaders don’t want to acknowledge it.

The attitude by the present administration is eerily similar to what the Clinton administration had, that lead up to the 9/11/2001 terror attacks. Criminalizing terror is in fact ignoring the active war being waged against our country and western society. As if we don’t name it, then it doesn’t really exist.

During the Clinton administration, our world trade center was attacked with a truck bomb and our embassies in Africa were bombed killing hundreds.

Later, in a frank moment, Clinton admitted he screwed up when he had a chance to kill Osama Bin Laden and didn’t take it, because: He had “no controlling legal authority to do so.”

This is lawyer talk, not a commander in chief who is responsible for the safety of American citizens….

In Store Wars, the Empire Strikes Back

Tony Perkins – Washington Update – July 16, 2013

When religious liberty collides with same-sex “marriage,” something has to give. And usually, that “something” is Christians’ rights. In this mad dash to redefine marriage in America, many in society are so focused on giving homosexuals their way that they aren’t stopping to see who gets trampled underfoot. The real victims, who include children, religious business owners, and employees across the country, have been lost in a convenient storyline of inequality and discrimination.

While the media spills oceans of ink on the perceived injustice toward same-sex couples, very few reporters are telling the stories of Christians being hauled into court, before human rights commissions, and even their own employers for subscribing to a view on marriage that — until last year — President Barack Obama shared! In the meantime, wedding vendors from Washington State to New Jersey are trapped in the middle, wondering why their rights are suddenly less important than homosexuals’. When did it become acceptable to sacrifice the freedoms of conscience and free exercise of religion on the same-sex “wedding” altar?

Call to Prayer Ministries International – May 8, 2013

“We can only believe that God has indeed used ‘the extraordinary prayers of His people’ around the world to bless America!” -David Rowsome

(Unanderra, Australia)—A world-wide call to pray and fast for the USA went out from Australia and New Zealand on 25 April 2013 from the team at Australia’s National Day of Prayer and Fasting.

The Australian team felt led by God to bridge the US National Day of Repentance on April 30 and the US National Day of Prayer on May 2, with a worldwide call for 72 hours of prayer and fasting for the USA. This was humbly and gratefully received by American prayer leaders during a teleconference on April 24.

David Rowsome, one of the Australian organizers, said, “As we look back we stand amazed at what the Lord has done. The response from around the world to this prayer call surprised us all.

“Jonathan Edwards, the mighty American revivalist of the First Great Awakening and widely acknowledged as America’s greatest theologian, wrote in 1740, ‘When God has something very great to accomplish for His church, it is His will that there should precede it the extraordinary prayers of His people.’

“We believe this is what we have just witnessed in this world-wide call to prayer. Many media outlets and prayer networks, including several global ones, very quickly took up this call. Confirmed reports from 28 countries around the world have been received and we believe there could very well be many more. We will not know the full response this side of eternity. But God does!”

Richard Land: When Does a Human Become Human?

Charisma News – 5/20/2013 Abby Carr

The guilty verdict for abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has spurred a new conversation in America about the sanctity of human life. Last week’s conviction of Gosnell on three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies has many asking when life begins—and how we can protect it in the future. Among them is Richard Land, newly appointed president-elect of Southern Evangelical Seminary, a leader in apologetics education.

Last week, Gosnell, 72, was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies born alive in his West Philadelphia clinic. He was acquitted of killing a fourth newborn during an illegal late-term abortion in a dirty clinic that served mostly low-income women and teens and went years without a state inspection.

After 10 days of deliberation, the jury also found Gosnell guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a patient who died from an overdose of sedatives. Gosnell was sentenced to three life terms in prison without parole. It has been widely reported that Gosnell performed 40,136 abortions in his clinic from 1988 to 2009.

‘Time Magazine’ Highlights the Latino Reformation

Charisma News – 4/11/2013 Abby Carr

In its April 15 issue, Time magazine reports on the surprising rise in evangelical Latinos in the United States and the implications it could have for both American religious practices and electoral politics.

With Pastor Wilfredo “Choco” DeJesús’ praying hands and the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez’s description of the Hispanic Reformation on the cover, Time brought to national attention the influence Hispanic evangelicals carry within America’s religious landscape.

While more than two-thirds of the 52 million-plus Latinos in the U.S. are Catholic, that number could be cut in half by 2030. More than 35 percent of Hispanics in America now call themselves born-again. Additionally, the Southern Baptist Church—the largest evangelical denomination in the country—says they hope to more than double the number of Baptist Hispanic churches by 2020.

Time‘s Elizabeth Dias states: “The evangelico boom is inextricably linked to the immigrant experience. Evangelicos are socially more conservative than Hispanics generally, but they are quicker to fight for social justice than their white brethren are. They are eager to believe in the miraculous but also much more willing to bend ecclesiastical rules to include women in church duties and invite other ethnic groups into their pews. The new churches are in many cases a deliberate departure from the countries and the faith their members left behind—but they don’t look or sound anything like the mega-churches of the U.S.”

Carlos Campo, president at Regent University, said, “Time‘s cover story ‘The Latino Reformation,’ makes it clear that the Latino evangelical church has embraced a ‘vernacular’ experience for their congregants. If we define vernacular as ‘native or indigenous (opposed to literary or learned)’ the Latino evangelical church is a modern version of the Septuagint and the Luther Bible: they are ‘translating’ religious experience in a way that honors and understands fullness of the individual person.”

Pentagon Backpedals on Court-Martial for Christian Soldiers Who Share Jesus

Charisma News – 5/2/2013 Nicole Lange

The Department of Defense spokesperson who made comments Tuesday indicating that members of the military could be subject to court martial for ‘religious proselytization’ backtracked in a new statement Thursday. (Trinity Evangelical Christian University Crisis Intervention Chaplain / Creative Commons)

Alliance Defending Freedom filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request Wednesday for records related to a Pentagon statement issued Tuesday that indicated members of the military could be subject to court martial for “religious proselytization.”

The Department of Defense spokesperson who made the comments backtracked in a new statement Thursday that explains, “Service members can share their faith (evangelize), but must not force unwanted, intrusive attempts to convert others of any faith or no faith to one’s beliefs (proselytization).”

“Members of our military should not be denied the very freedoms they fight to defend. Freedom of religion and speech are paramount among those freedoms,” says legal counsel Joseph La Rue. “We appreciate the Pentagon’s clarification, but little or no evidence exists of coercive proselytization in the military, so we are still troubled over what motivated the original comments.”

Faith Behind the Fascination with Margaret Thatcher’s Grandchildren

Teresa Neumann (Apr 26, 2013)

Amanda Thatcher’s much heralded reading from Ephesians at her grandmother’s funeral is due to the fact that “she knows God” and “has a mother who loves the Lord.”

(The U.K.) – Margaret Thatcher’s granddaughter, Amanda Thatcher, who was raised in the United States, wowed churchgoers at her grandmother’s funeral when she eloquently read from the book of Ephesians (click here to see video).

“Flawless!” gushed funeral attendants of the poised 19-year-old student, no doubt surprised that an American could be as articulate as their British counterparts. (Photo: NY Daily News)

Now, as revealed by Amanda’s mother, Diane Beckett – daughter-in-law of the late Prime Minister – not only is confidence, presence and articulation “in the blood,” it’s also a product of faith.

An article in The Telegraph details how Amanda Thatcher met and married Margaret Thatcher’s son Mark, whom she met in Texas in 1986 and later divorced. Today, Amanda is married to publishing magnate, James Beckett. According to the report, their family’s belief in God is the “bedrock of their life.”

Colorado Christians Answering the Prayers of Orphans

5/10/2013 Charlene Israel/CBN News

Each year thousands of children enter America’s foster care system and state workers are often overwhelmed with the task of finding them a safe home, but a growing number of Christians are getting involved to help ease the burden.

If you ever take the time to hear them, all of these children long for a sense of normalcy and peace—a place to call home.

“Will I ever be enough to be loved?” asks one 5-year-old foster girl.

After being placed with a permanent family, one 12-year-old boy commented, “I have a dream.”

“This time someone wanted me and I didn’t have to say goodbye,” he said.

In James 1:27, the Bible speaks of children without parents and the answer to their needs:

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”

First slavery, now abortion: blacks bear brunt America’s lost moral rudder

by Star Parker –  May 06, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com)

In 1854, Abraham Lincoln confronted America’s first “pro-choice” Senator Stephen Douglas, in a speech in Peoria, Illinois.

“Choice” then was about slavery, not abortion.

Douglas sponsored the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which addressed the sticky question of how to deal with legality of slavery in new territories entering the union. The Kansas-Nebraska Act resolved this by “choice.” Residents would vote to decide if slavery would be legal in their territory.

Lincoln challenged Douglas’s “pro-choice” position on slavery. According to Douglas, said Lincoln, “…the principle of the Nebraska Bill was very old; that it originated when God made man and placed good and evil before him, allowing him to choose for himself, being responsible for the choice he should make.”

No, said Lincoln. “God did not place good and evil before man, telling him to make his choice. On the contrary, he did tell him there was one tree, of the fruit of which he should not eat, upon pain of certain death.”

Iran moves American Christian to solitary confinement over prayer protest

FoxNews.com, April 29, 2013 – By Lisa Daftari

The American pastor jailed in Iran for his faith has been placed in solitary confinement and may now be suffering organ failure, according to family members in Iran who are increasingly alarmed at his deteriorating health.

Saeed Abedini, the 32-year-old Christian and American citizen who is serving an eight-year prison term in Iran, was put in solitary confinement following a “peaceful, silent protest” in an outside courtyard at Iran’s notoriously brutal Evin prison, according to family members. Conditions at the prison prompted Abedini and other prisoners to sign a petition decrying the lack of medical care and the threats and harsh treatment facing family members who come to visit.

The protest angered prison officials who retaliated by placing Abedini and nine others in solitary confinement.

“Saeed had previously told his family that when he was in solitary confinement in the past, that was the hardest time in his life. That every hour was like one year and that he was losing his memory and his health was deteriorating quickly,” said his wife, Naghmeh Abedini, who is at the family’s home in Idaho with their two young children.

Obama Protects Islam At All Costs

Posted on April 27, 2013 by John DeMayo

All over the world, Christianity is under attack. Muslim countries are murdering, torturing and incarcerating people for one reason, and one reason only, their Christian faith. Here in America our government sits on its collective hands and white washes or conveniently ignores the acts of violent Islamists that continue to plan to take more lives. Moreover, the very people entrusted with our Nations Security are protecting the financiers of this global attack on Christianity.

It is no big secret that the Muslim Brotherhood has the ear of President Obama. Obama has spent the first four months of his second term working to infringe on constitutional gun rights because a mentally ill man murdered 26 people in Connecticut. Yet the lives taken here and abroad during his first term by acts of Muslim terror remain unaddressed. Taxpayer dollars continue to feed and comfort America’s enemies at Guantanamo Bay. Islamists with American educations walk the halls of our White House shaping American foreign policy and lobbying for additional protections for an ideology that kills Americans and has no plans to stop.

The left wing media hell bent on attacking anything decent has become a propaganda machine for Islamists faulting everything American for the casualties that Islam continues to inflict on Christian communities. The people at Salon, MSNBC and CNN provide cover for these animals and sell the Obama anti-white, anti-Christian narrative that fuels Islamists dreams of hobbling America. Obama administration immigration policies and token border enforcement are providing a gateway for jihadists who no longer have to hide from federal authorities. Instead, they are welcomed, fed, housed and protected until they are able to execute more innocents.

If a white supremacist group were, burning churches and murdering American descendants of Africa the National Guard would be doing house-to-house searches in every red state south of the mason Dixon line. If a bakery refused to make a wedding cake for a same sex couple, the Justice Department would drag the Christian owner into federal court and destroy his business. However, two Muslim jihadists using bombs designed with Saudi financed al Qaeda internet support tear over 180 Americans lives apart and our President recommends once again American restraint. Christians are harassed in more countries — 130 — than any other religion in the world

Kirsten Powers USA Today – April 2, 2013

Christians are harassed in more countries — 130 — than any other religion in the world.

  • Tragically, Christians have been forced to abandon homelands they have occupied for thousands of years.
  • Prosecution of Christians in the Middle East needs more attention.

“Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world.” So asserted German Chancellor Angela Merkel late last year, causing a stir. Merkel echoed a concern expressed by then-French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who warned in a 2011 speech that Christians face a “particularly wicked program of cleansing in the Middle East, religious cleansing.”

Not ‘War on Christmas’

Now, this is not about clerks who say “Happy Holidays” or bans of nativity scenes in public schools. Merkel spoke of real persecution of hundreds of millions of Christians around the world. Indeed, a 2011 Pew Forum study found that Christians are harassed in 130 countries, more than any of the world’s other religions.
