TEHRAN, IRAN (ANS) — Erick Stakelbeck, CBN News Terrorism Analyst is reporting that new evidence has emerged that the Iranian government sees the current unrest in the Middle East as a signal that the Mahdi–or Islamic messiah–is about to appear.

CBN News has obtained a never-before-seen video produced by the Iranian regime that says all the signs are moving into place — and that Iran will soon help usher in the end times.

While the revolutionary movements gripping the Middle East have created uncertainty throughout the region, the video shows that the Iranian regime believes the chaos is divine proof that their ultimate victory is at hand. (more…)

Why did my middle class brother turn into an Islamic extremist who won’t be seen on TV with our mother if she’s not wearing a veil?

Transformation: Just a year ago Salahuddin, front, was known to his middle-class friends and family simply as Rich, a 27-year-old security guard at the BBC.By Daily Mail Reporter on 3rd April 2011

Pressing his loudspeaker tighter into his mousy-brown bush of a beard, Salahuddin’s bright-blue eyes fill with hatred.

‘When the Taliban defeat the allies we will establish Sharia law and take the fight to the enemy,’ he preaches before a baying crowd of extremist friends at a demo in Barking, Greater London.

But just a year ago Salahuddin was known to his middle-class friends and family simply as Rich, a 27-year-old security guard for the BBC.

As a youngster, growing up in the sunny seaside town of Weymouth, Dorset, he harboured dreams of becoming a builder. That was before his transformation.

Empowered to Act: Why Christians Should Change the World

Michael CravenWed, Mar. 16 2011 by S. Michael Craven | Christian Post Guest Columnist

The idea that Christians are to bring healing into the world-the restoration of people and the reformation of systems that hinder them-seems reasonable enough (in thought, anyway). It is certainly biblical. Reality, however, is another story.

The moment one ventures out into the world-either physically or through the lens of the media-you will no doubt be thrown back by the overwhelming suffering, injustice, and evil that frequently seems to rule the day. Islamic terrorists-an enemy with no intelligible goal other than destruction-remind us that evil is real, ruthless, and well-supplied with volunteers. Incomprehensible poverty in India, despotic regimes in the Middle East, and Mexican drug wars us that injustice still reigns throughout much of the world. Just recently, in my own community, a twenty-nine-year-old pastor was brutally murdered in his church and his sixty-seven-year-old female assistant was nearly beaten to death for a few dollars.

Republicans launch bill to jail Muslims who follow Sharia law

Proposal: Republican Senator Bill Ketron, 57, has put forward a bill to make following some forms of Sharia law a crime punishable by a 15-year jail sentenceBy Daily Mail Reporter - 2nd March 2011

A conservative group has put together the boldest legal attempt yet to limit how Muslims worship in America.

The Tennessee group, led by Republican Senator Bill Ketron, 57, has proposed a bill to make following some versions of Sharia law a crime punishable by 15 years in jail.

They are concerned extremist Muslims want Sharia to supersede the Constitution, but the bill would probably face steep constitutional hurdles if it is enacted.

Half of Brazil’s Population to be Evangelical Christian by 2020

Feb. 20 2011 – Andrea Marcela Madambashi – Christian Post Correspondent

An international missions organization reports that evangelicals are expected to reach 57.4 million in Brazil this year in accordance with the evangelical annual growth rate of 7.42 percent.

Researchers at “Servindo aos Pastores e Líderes” (SEPAL) announced this 2011 figure last Monday based on findings from its groundbreaking study last year that predicted Brazil’s evangelical growth rate over the next decade.

SEPAL had conducted this study utilizing results from Brazil’s Census 2000 survey by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) and other information from a March 2007 study conducted by Datafolha, a major domestic information firm.

Based on figures obtained from both sources, SEPAL concluded that over half of the nation’s population will be evangelical in less than a decade.

“We believe 52 per cent of the population will be evangelical by 2020, or about 109.3 million evangelicals within a total population of 209.3 million,” said SEPAL researcher Luis André Brunet, in an interview with The Christian Post this week.

Japan’s Tragedy Turns Spiritual

Japan Recoveryby Teresa Neumann : Mar 21, 2011 : Mission Network News

“People are engaging in spiritual conversation with strangers. That’s just not typical.”

REPORTER’S NOTE: Although the governor of Tokyo is on record as saying he feared God might be punishing the Japanese people, we at BCN do not jump to that conclusion. Yes, God can punish sin, but given that every people group and every nation on the face of the earth is sinful, the world should have ceased to exist long ago. Above all, God is full of grace and mercy, and His heart is toward the Japanese people in this hour, wanting to draw them to Himself. -Teresa Neumann, BCN.

(Japan)—Warren Janzen, the International Director of SEND International, gave a sobering update on the situation in Japan this week, but notes that the disaster is now taking on a “spiritual tone.”

Janzen said the the governor of Tokyo, Shintaro Ishihara, made a public statement that he feared the Japanese were being “punished.”

“To have a public figure of his stature make a statement like that,” he said, “opens up a public discussion on spiritual things.”

“Some of our missionaries are going out on the street,” he continued, “talking to random people, talking about the earthquake, the tsunami, and the nuclear situation there. People are engaging in spiritual conversation with strangers. That’s just not typical.”

Janzen was also quoted as saying it’s a kairos moment for Japan. “We believe this an appointed time in the presence of God,” he said.

Heaven Is For Real—a Little Boy Shares His Experience “in Heaven”

Colton went to Heaven and came back to earthby Aimee Herd : Mar 16, 2011 : KWGN.com

“His experience in Heaven hasn’t changed [my] son, but because Colton was so young when it happened it has defined his life.” -Todd Burpo

Todd and Sonja Burpo of Imperial, Nebraska were visiting Colorado with their 3-year-old son Colton, when he began complaining of a stomach ache. Despite suggestions of possible appendicitis, he was dismissed, but returned to a hospital two days later, and was eventually rushed into surgery.

It was discovered that his appendix had burst some five days before he was finally diagnosed.

Now his life hung by a thread and his parents hit their knees in prayer. Miraculously, little Colton survived. And, after a couple of surgeries and a difficult recovery, their boy bounced back.

The Koran Riots in Afghanistan: An Indictment of All Islam

NewsReal ^ | April 1, 2011 | Rob Taylor

Posted on Saturday, April 02, 2011 by TheHawksNest

7 United Nations workers were murdered by a crowd of angry Muslims in Afghanistan during protests organized by religious leaders. The clerics drove through the city of Mazar-i-Sharif with loud speakers, demanding that Muslims “protest” the burning of a Koran by a Florida pastor.  Two of the UN workers were beheaded.

The leftist media here is placing the blame squarely on Koran burner Terry Jones while desperately clinging to the myth of the peaceful Muslim protest that “just got out of control”–no doubt hijacked by a that tiny minority of extremists the media thinks is responsible for over 1,000 years of Islamic Imperialism. But when the Left here makes excuses for Muslim barbarity they ignore reality and the internal drives of unreformed Islam that make Muslims predisposed to mayhem and violence.

There is no other religious group on Earth that murders and rapes more people whenever they feel attacked and insulted nor is there one that attacks and insults other religions as regularly. While the Muslims in Afghanistan murdered innocent people because one man in Florida burned a Koran, Saudi authorities tortured and arrested two Indian Christians for praying. During the arrest Saudi religious police trampled the victims’ Bibles and tore the holy books. (more…)

Sunni v Shia

Sunni vs Shia in the Middle EastZaki Chehab – Published 12 February 2007

The clash between Sunni and Shia Muslims is the greatest cause of strife across the Arab world. Here – as part of our special issue on Islam – Zaki Chehab explains the deep-lying roots of the turmoil

Iraqis have already given it a name: the “Bloody Evening”. At about 5pm on Saturday 3 February, a Mercedes lorry carrying more than a tonne of explosives was detonated in the Sadriyah neighbourhood of Baghdad, killing 150 people and wounding 300 more. The suicide bomber had driven into a food market in a largely Shia area; the result was the greatest loss of life from a single bomb since the US invasion of 2003.

From weary experience, Iraqis know that it is only a matter of time before Shia militants seek revenge. While hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have sought refuge in neighbouring countries, the majority who cannot leave or cannot afford to leave are trapped in a cycle of sectarian killings that the religious and political leaderships of Shias and Sunnis alike have failed to arrest. Abbas, a Shia friend who left Baghdad recently, told me from his new base in Jordan that he had been forced to go – he had been unable to send his three children to school for fear they would fall victim to the Iraqi sectarian killings that are claiming the lives of a hundred people a day. He described the grisly scene with municipal trucks going out each morning to collect the bodies of those killed the previous night. Corpses found in plastic bags were evidence that the victims had been kidnapped and disposed of when no ransom was paid.

GLOBAL JIHAD – Former CIA chief warns: U.S. ‘at war’ with Shariah

Robert James WoolseyPosted: February 13, 2011 – By Les Kinsolving © 2011 WorldNetDaily

Robert James Woolsey tells CPAC it’s not ‘Islamophobic’ to resist spread of Muslim law.

Robert James Woolsey, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, told a break-out session of the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., that America needs to stop being so politically correct and realize it is “at war” with those who would spread Islamic, or Shariah, law.

“We have to understand that we are in a war here – certainly with the terrorists; certainly with Al Qaida; certainly with Hamas and Hezbollah,” Woolsey said. “We’re also at war, with no choice of our own, with those who want to, over the long run, impose Shariah [Islamic law] upon us.

“And it is one of the toughest fights we have ever had or will have,” he continued, “because Americans are used to religious liberty and not criticizing one another’s religions.” (more…)
