Christians And Their Churches Targeted By Radical Muslims

January 20, 2011

Militant Islam Monitor – By Emerson Vermaat

In December 2010 I reported that Christian asylum seekers in three thirds of the asylum seekers centers in Holland (so-called “AZC’s”) are seriously intimidated by Muslim asylum seekers. Too many Muslim converts to Christianity – often refugees from totalitarian Muslim societies – live in fear. However, the problem of harassing or attacking Christians is much more widespread. Many Christians in Iraq are persecuted by radical Muslims who bomb their churches, kill their pastors and priests. Many of them flee to the West. (Some them end up in Dutch asylum seekers centers where they once again face harassment by militant Muslims.) Coptic churches in Egypt have also been bombed. There was a major terror attack on a Coptic church in Alexandria, Egypt, on New Year’s day, when 25 Coptic Christians were killed.

Iran’s “Press TV”, Lebanon’s Grand Mufti, a Muslim Brotherhood official and an Egyptian lawyers group suggested that agents of the Israeli Mossad – “zionist fingerpints” – were behind the church blast. In a recent essay Raymond Ibrahim, author of the noteworthy book “The Al Qaeda Reader,” points out that “Islamists accuse Egypt’s Christians of behaving like… Islamists.” “Islamists regularly abduct, abuse, brainwash, and compel Coptic girls to convert – and now Copts are accused of doing the exact same thing; Islamists regularly smuggle and stockpile weapons, including in their holy places – and now Copts are accused of doing the exact same thing. Islamists are constantly either trying to break away or conquer infidel nations – and now Copts are accused of doing the exact same thing; Islamic martyrdom means participating and dying in jihad – and now Christian martyrdom is defined as the exact same thing.” “This recent batch of bizarre accusations is making Muslims more irate and paranoid, and bodes greater evil for Egypt’s beleaguered Christians.”

Don’t buy the lie about the Crusades

Jim FletcherPosted: February 15, 2011 – WND – Jim Fletcher

Remember after 9/11, when Billy Graham’s people decided the word “crusade” was too inflammatory? I don’t remember the more benign term used for a time after that, but the thinking was, “crusade” might be offensive to Muslims.

That kind of thinking emboldens radical Islam. The imagery of the Crusades – in which large numbers of people in the Middle East swam in their own blood during the gruesome confrontations over Jerusalem – is often used by Muslims, who excel in propaganda. By the way – and this isn’t meant as an afterthought – the Jews might have some unpleasant memories of the Crusades, as well.

Rodney Stark, though, in “God’s Battalions,” makes an argument he should be applauded for: The Crusaders were not expansionist and bullying; rather they were a reaction to Muslim hostilities. The idea that the Crusades were launched in reaction to Muslim aggressiveness is a story too long suppressed, and finally, we have a concise record of what really happened.

Seven Reasons Why I Pray and Take a Stand with Israel

James W. GollA VIEW FROM MY CHAIR With James W. Goll

The following is an excerpt from the first chapter of my book Praying for Israel’s Destiny. The book is solid and relevant for these days. Having been an Israel Intercessor for many years, these truths roll out of my heart with ease. May you be enlightened and encouraged to take a stand in these perilous times.

1. Israel is Still the Apple of God’s Eye, and His Inheritance.

Pray and take a stand for Israel because Israel is still very close to God’s heart. I have already shared Zechariah 2:8, which says, “He who touches you , touches the apple of His eye.” Centuries before Zechariah prophesied these words, Moses wrote a song containing a very similar picture:

For the Lord’s portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance. . . . He encircled him, He cared for him and He guarded him as the pupil of His eye. . . . He spread His wings and caught them. He carried them on His pinions. Deuteronomy 32:9–11

Psalm 148:14 declares, “And He has lifted up a horn for His people, praise for all His godly ones; even for the sons of Israel, a people near to Him.” Did you hear that? “A people near to Him.” I love that!

The first reason I pray for Israel is not profound. I pray for Israel because I want to be close to God’s heart and I want to be in alignment with God’s sight. If God says that Israel is the apple or pupil of His eye, then I want to pray with insight–with His sight. Do you want to be close to the heart of God? Then be close to the things, people and purposes that are close to His heart. Fulfill your appointment. Take a stand and be a watchman for Israel!

Will China ultimately be a Christian-led Nation?

Chinese Christian WorshipBy Lauren Green – Published January 20, 2011

According to China Aid, a Texas-based human rights group, the number of Christians in China has increased 100-fold since 1949. Current estimates range from 80 million to 130 million active members. And one startling estimate from a Chinese Christian businessman has that number doubling or even tripling in the next generation.

Christianity could become one of the macro forces shaping Chinese culture, say experts like Dr. David Aikman, author of “Jesus in Beijing.”‬‪

“If the Chinese become Christianized … which doesn’t mean you have a majority of people who are Christians, but it means about 25 to 30 percent of people in positions of influence, in politics, in culture, in the media. If you have that component of a major power that accepts Christianity enthusiastically as a guide to life, that is going to change the world view of the leaders of China.”‬‪

Others argue that even if the more generous estimate of 130 Christians is true, it’s still a drop in the bucket in a population of more than a billion people.

“They all preach the same gospel. There are no liberals or conservative branches … they all believe the same.”

Egypt now fears Obama a ‘Manchurian President’

President Obama2011 WorldNetDaily – Posted: February 02, 2011

‘They are trying to understand why he is acting against U.S. interests’ Top members of the Egyptian government say they feel betrayed by President Obama, charging that he is acting against American interests.

“Mubarak’s regime feels Obama is pushing the advancement of the Muslim Brotherhood against U.S. interests,” said WND’s Jerusalem bureau chief and senior reporter Aaron Klein. “They are genuinely trying to understand why Obama is seemingly championing the anti-regime protests.”

Klein said that a top Egyptian diplomat with whom he has developed a rapport over the last few years asked him earlier this week to explain Obama’s motivation to support the opposition to Mubarak.

“I told him none of this should be a surprise,” said Klein, “that the Obama administration has developed an extensive relationship over the last few years with allies of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Get the comprehensive probe that exposes Obama’s Marxist, anti-American past – and present, in “Manchurian President.”

“That my investigating has proven that Obama has been closely associated throughout his political career with radical-left elements who have long petitioned for policies many believe are aimed at weakening the American enterprise both domestically and internationally.”

Smith Wigglesworth Church Set to be Resurrected

Smith Wigglesworth PreachingThursday, January 20, 2011 – Assist News Service

MANNINGHAM, UK (ANS) — The site of world-famous supernatural happenings is set to be restored to its former glory – and turned into a centre of healing, a museum and coffee shop.

Bowland Street Mission, nestling between a taxi firm and a takeaway food shop, in Manningham, in Northern England, is where the extraordinary “people’s preacher” Smith Wigglesworth had his base.

Now news that the building is to be restored and used to continue his ministry has believers around the world buzzing with excitement – and booking flights for Bradford.

Brian Holland, of Idle, with his wife Kathryn, and international preacher and broadcaster Terry Quinn are founding members of the Smith Wigglesworth Foundation which has agreed a long-term lease on the building.

Brian said: “I have been studying Wigglesworth for nearly two decades and while only a select number of Bradfordians know about this guy, he is big news around the world.

“Wigglesworth was a catalyst for the charismatic revival of the church and one of the fathers of the Pentecostal church.

E-News: Three Liberals speak up on multiculturalism and Islam

Liberal PoliticiansSalt Shakers E-News

Following current articles on multiculturalism in Britain and subsequent reports from Australia, three federal Liberal MPs have spoken out.

Kevin Andrews MHR, Sen Mitch Fifield and Sen Cory Bernardi have warned about the dangers of separatism, the dangers of Islam, the risk of losing Australian culture … and the Islamisation of Australia. The MPs mentioned the silence of political leaders about extreme Islam, the risk of ‘parallel societies’ such as is happening in the UK and Europe where Muslims want shari’a law and the proliferation of ‘halal’ food as problems…

Liberal MPs warn of ‘Islam danger’ – Herald Sun, 9 Feb 2011

AUSTRALIA risks becoming a nation of “ethnic enclaves” that unknowingly buys livestock slaughtered “in the name of Allah”, senior Liberal MPs have warned.

Opening up a new political faultline, former immigration minister Kevin Andrews lashed out at political leaders who failed to speak out on the rise of extreme Islam, claiming the silence contributes to the rise of One Nation-type movements.

Protests in Egypt / Understanding the Middle East / Christian Persecution

Protests in Egypt By Pr Daniel

Dear family & friends in Christ in Australia and around the World,

I am sure you have been watching the unfolding of events in Egypt and across the Middle East over the past 2 weeks.

I do not claim to be an authority on issues in the Middle East. However, because I spent time working and ministering along with my family in Saudi Arabia, the heartland of Islam, I somewhat understand the mindset of much of the Muslim Arab world.

It seems that the media is all out to promote the change of government in Egypt. Now, if the media supports a particular side, you always need to understand that they almost always promote the negative and not the positive. That is simply the way of the secular left media.

Many governments in the Arab world are pro-West, such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abudhabi, Yemen, Turkey, Iraq, Doha, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Algeria, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and others.

One of the main reasons for this is that the children of the government leaders and of other influential leaders in these countries have studied in the West. Additionally, many of these countries look to the West for security in an constantly unstable and terror threatened region. Many Middle Eastern governments are unsure of whether their own Muslim countrymen might turn their guns on them. They know that they can trust the people and governments in the West. However, they don’t know that this trust comes only because most of the countries in the West were founded on Judeo-Christian values based on the Bible as the only true Word of God.

Egypt, the great antagonist of Israel

Egypt, America, and IsraelEgyptA response to the unrest in Cairo by ICEJ Executive Director, Rev. Malcolm Hedding

February 1st, 2011

Egypt, but for brief moments in history, has always been a great antagonist of the people of Israel. This saga really began some 1700 years before Christ when Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, was wrongly accused and left to rot in an Egyptian jail. If it were not for God’s supernatural deliverance he would have perished there! His rise to power was phenomenal as was his leadership skills. He not only saved Egypt from starvation but he delivered his family and the known world as well and thereby guaranteed the existence of the Jewish people and the Messianic line of descent. If it were not for God’s supernatural deliverance Israel would have perished!

As time went by a Pharaoh arose “who knew not Joseph” and literally enslaved the Jewish people, murdered their babies and threatened the nation with extinction. God went before them and provided a deliverer in the person of Moses. He brought Israel out of Egypt with great signs and wonders by his hands. If it were not for God’s supernatural deliverance Israel would have perished!

When the children of Israel got to the Red Sea the Egyptians had them cornered. There was nowhere to go and so, once again, by a miracle, in response to Moses outstretched arm, the sea parted and Israel escaped unharmed on dry land. If it were not for God’s supernatural deliverance Israel would have perished at the hands of the Egyptians!

What Is Next for Egypt and the Arab World?

Egyptian President MubarakASSIST News Service (ANS)  By Dan Wooding – Founder of ASSIST

Saturday, January 29, 2011

CAIRO, EGYPT (ANS) — The BBC is reporting that leaders from the US, UK, France and Germany have urged Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak to avoid violence and enact reforms as protests continue.

In a story that appears on the BBC website, Jeremy Bowen writes, “In Cairo, thousands of demonstrators have ignored a curfew. The army is standing by and not intervening.

“Mr. Mubarak has appointed his first ever vice-president and a new prime minister as he struggles to regain control after five days of street demonstrations.

“At least 74 people have been killed since Tuesday, and looting is ongoing.

Christianity taking over planet?

Mega Shift by James RutzEvidence suggests it’s fastest growing faith on Earth

Posted on WorldNetDaily on December 31, 2010 2011

What is the fastest-growing religion on Earth?

Most news reports suggest it is Islam.

But the evidence suggests a new, or, perhaps, original form of biblically inspired evangelical Christianity is sweeping through places like China, Africa, India and Southeast Asia – making it, by far, the fastest growing faith on the planet.

In “Megashift,” author Jim Rutz coins a new phrase to define this fast-growing segment of the population. He calls them “core apostolics” – or “the new saints who are at the heart of the mushrooming kingdom of God.”

Rutz makes the point that Christianity is overlooked as the fastest-growing faith in the world because most surveys look at the traditional Protestant denominations and the Roman Catholic Church while ignoring Christian believers who have no part of either.

He says there are 707 million “switched-on disciples” who fit into this new category and that this “church” is exploding in growth.

Floods in Australia- Is it God, the devil, or a natural disaster? By Pr Daniel

Queensland FloodsPraying for flood victimsDear family and friends in Christ in Australia and around the World,

Many have asked Pr Daniel whether they could reprint or forward this article to others, so we are sending it again. Please feel free to do so in addition to the attached Christian Breaking News article from the Elijah List.

The above is a hot topic right now amongst many people, as Christians and non-Christians alike have been asking the question, “Is God punishing the people or is it simply a natural disaster?”

However, I have not personally heard many people ask the question, “Is it  the work of the devil?”

I am sure that even during the time of Noah’s flood many would have called it a natural disaster, until they all perished. We know this because when Noah warned the people as God’s spokesman, they did not receive his warning.  (Genesis 7:21-23)

Of course, there have always been many natural disasters throughout the world, but when the disaster is of the magnitude of what recently happened in Queensland, and when the secular media calls it ‘A Flood of Biblical Proportions’, we definitely need to take a good look and see whether this is more than just a natural disaster.

As I was recently getting my hair cut, my barber said to me, “Danny, I cannot understand why a loving God is punishing people.” My barber is a Christian, but does not go to church. In fact, I led him to the Lord a few months ago.

I promptly responded, “Suppose my daughter or son tell me that they are leaving home because they don’t like all the rules and regulations, but I tell them that the rules and regulations are because we love them and want to protect them from getting into trouble.  If they still choose to go, and I hear that they get into some trouble, would it be fair for them to blame me??”

He promptly responded, “NO.”

Cyclone Yasi – What a challenging moment in our nation / Pr Daniel

Pastor Daniel NalliahDear family & friends in Christ across this Great South Land of the Holy Spirit,

1) I am sure many of you would have hardly slept last night as you would have been praying and storming heaven on behalf of our nation, in particular for Queensland.

Personally, I hardly slept myself as I kept getting up all through the night and was led to pray in tongues for most part of the night. I asked God that there should be no lives lost. I am sure many of you would have done the same. I was also watching the breaking news.

I thank God with all my heart that the breaking news this morning was that “NO LIVES WERE LOST and NO REPORTS OF ANY INJURIES”. Isn’t this amazing!

A category 5 Cyclone rips through parts of Queensland, with winds of up to 285KM’s an hour, and there were no casualties. This is an amazing miracle, although there has been major damage to property and infrastructure.

Already there are encouraging reports coming out of Queensland.

This morning I was speaking to Pastor Adam who lives in Cairns. He told me that 16 born-again Christians, his family and a few from his church gathered at their home and spent a few hours in worship, praise and prayer last night.  While the cyclone was passing through they were playing their guitars and worshipping the Lord.
