Why is the U.S. downplaying or denying attacks against Christians?

Along with an especially jarring list of atrocities committed against Christian minorities throughout the Islamic world, March also saw some callous indifference or worse from the U.S. government.
President Barack Obama was criticized by human rights activists for not addressing the plight of Christians and other minorities during his talks with leaders in Saudi Arabia, where Christianity is actively banned.
According to the Washington-based International Christian Concern advocacy group, Obama did not “publicly broach the subject of religious freedom” when he spoke on March 28 with Saudi King Abdullah, despite a letter from 70 members of Congress urging him to “address specific human rights reforms” both in public and in direct meetings with the king and other officials. I am sure you would have heard by now that the Australian Police shot dead an Islamic fundamentalist (18 years old) in Endeavour Hills in the Melbourne South Eastern Suburbs a few days ago, as he was planning to kill behead two police officers and then post a photo on social media with the ISIL flag draped over their bodies.
Fortunately one of the police officers, even though he had been stabbed repeatedly, opened fire and killed this man. Both officers never expected this young Islamist to attack them.
What is most interesting is that this 18 year old Islamist worshipped in a Mosque in Hallam, the same suburb where CTFM & RUAP headquarters are located, just five minutes down the road ten minutes from where he lived.
Yesterday, RUAP carried out a campaign to visit six shopping centers to campaign for the upcoming Victorian State Election on 29th November. Teams of 5-7 people wearing RUAP t-shirts walked through the shopping centres in Dandenong, Cranbourne, Fountain Gate, Frankston and Endeavour Hills and talked to people.
Pr Daniel and six others were at the Endeavour Hills shopping center, which is right next to the police station where the incident happened.
There was a very heavy police presence in the area as we believe that the body of the dead man was still lying there from the night before.
As Pr Daniel sat down at a cafe to have lunch with the team, many media outlets came to get a comment from him as they recognized him.
But what was most interesting was that three heavily armed police officers walked up to the table and started talking to him about whether Islam and Christianity are the same and whether Jesus was after Mohammed or before.

Hugh Thomas’s “The Slave Trade” and Robin Blackburn’s “The Making Of New World Slavery” sheds new light on centuries of slave trading. Piero Scaruffi in “The Origins of the African Slave Trade” writes that the civil rights movement of the 1960’s have left many people with the belief that the slave trade was exclusively a European/USA phenomenon and only evil white people were to blame for it. This is a simplistic scenario that hardly reflects the facts.
Thousands of records of transactions are available on a CD-ROM prepared by Harvard University and several comprehensive books have been published recently on the origins of modern slavery. What these records show is that the modern slave trade flourished in the early middle ages, as early as 869, especially between Muslim traders and western African kingdoms.
Sad and most cruel in fact is the Muslim Slave Trade, i.e., enslavement of Africans which is a big tragedy. It is not just Europeans who were connected with slavery, Africans were caged by Muslim slave traders for over 900 years, Africans from West, East, and North Africa were marched thousands of miles to Slave Markets as Men, Women, and Children were bound together by the waist and neck in a manner that if one died the rest could drag him hence the walks became the “Death Marches.” 20 million Africans died on these walks; it was erroneously said that it is God’s wish to see Africans caged as they were ‘uncivilized animals.’

A Christian health worker has begun a legal challenge after being disciplined by the NHS for praying with a Muslim colleague.
Victoria Wasteney, a senior occupational therapist in one of the country’s most racially diverse areas, was also accused of bullying the colleague after giving her a book about a Muslim woman who converts to Christianity.
In addition, senior managers told Miss Wasteney that it was inappropriate to invite the woman to a community sports day organised by her church.
The complaints led to Miss Wasteney being suspended on full pay for nine months.
Three charges were upheld against the 37-year-old Christian at an internal disciplinary hearing in February and five charges were found to be unsubstantiated. She had to accept a final written warning at work which will remain on her records for 12 months, as well as accept a range of other requirements designed to stop her discussing her faith and beliefs with colleagues.

When so-called Lone Wolf Muslim terrorists are busted by the feds, CAIR and other Muslim groups invariably claim entrapment, arguing that they would have done nothing if they hadn’t been led on by law enforcement.
With Shannon Maureen Conley, the Feds tried to do everything possible to dissuade her from becoming a Muslim terrorist and it didn’t work.
FBI agents tried more than once to discourage a 19-year-old suburban Denver woman who said she was intent on waging jihad in the Middle East before arresting her in April as she boarded a flight she hoped would ultimately get her to Syria.
Shannon Maureen Conley had told agents that she wanted to use her American military training from the U.S. Army Explorers to start a holy war overseas, even though she knew that it was illegal.

If there’s one political silver lining for the Obama administration in the ongoing firestorm over handing the Taliban a substantial victory to retrieve a probable American deserter, it’s that the pundit class has been all but ignoring the supreme foolishness of administration policy in Palestine. Is the State Department actually justifying its embrace of the new Palestinian “unity government” (that includes Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization) by claiming that the PA is really run by “technocrats?”
Why, yes it is.
Hamas certainly has a long history of complying with the rule of law, supporting an independent civil service, and overall policy wonkery, doesn’t it? What’s next, a Palestinian technocrat blog on Vox? Complete with charts?
Never fear, even if these technocrats have Hamas bosses, the State Department assures us that its eyes are wide open, and it will judge the new government by its “actions.”

In a small gathering only several blocks from where a massive rally in support of Israel was set to shortly take place outside the United Nations, several dozen protesters, most of them young adults who were dressed in mournful black outfits, stood in front of the midtown Manhattan office building that contains the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, chanting the mourners’ Kaddish and reading aloud the names of the hundreds of Palestinians, along with the Israeli soldiers, who have been killed since the beginning of Israel’s defensive war against Hamas in Gaza.
The demonstration was organized by “If Not Now, When?,” a hastily pulled-together group of “anti-occupation” Jewish protesters.
Their demonstration was overwhelmed by the “New York Stands With Israel” community-wide rally held next to the UN two hours later. The large gathering, which was officially co-sponsored by UJA-Federation of New York, the Jewish Community Relations Council and the Conference of Presidents, in conjunction with the Reform, Conservative and mainstream Orthodox movements, drew a passionate crowd of 10,000 people, said Shira Dicker, who has a public relations firm but was speaking as a rally participant. Participating in the rally is “exhilarating,” Dicker said.

(CNSNews.com) – As Ramadan began on Sunday, the terrorist group fighting to control territory across northern Syria and north-western Iraq effectively named its leader as head of the world’s Islamic fighters and demanded that Muslims everywhere pledge allegiance.
In a speech on the same day Saudi King Abdullah alluded to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) as nothing more than “a handful of terrorists” whose aim was to sow discord among Muslims.
“We will not allow a handful of terrorists, using Islam for personal aims, to terrify Muslims,” Abdullah said in the speech, which was read out on Saudi television by the culture and information minister.
“We hereby declare that we will continue to confront and fight all forms of this menace that does not relate to Islam by any means,” he said.
The Saudi king’s own claim to Islamic leadership is enshrined in the title of “custodian of the two holy mosques,” a reference to the Ka’aba in Mecca and the Mohammed mosque in Medina, the most revered sites in Islam.
