June 09, 2016 – Associated Press

Pastor Richie Clendenen stepped away from the pulpit, microphone in hand. He walked the aisles of the Christian Fellowship Church, his voice rising to describe the perils believers face in 21st-century America.

“The Bible says in this life you will have troubles, you will have persecutions. And Jesus takes it a step further: You’ll be hated by all nations for my name’s sake,” he said.

“Let me tell you,” the minister said, “that time is here.”

After Dallas, How Can We Quench the Fires of Racism and Violence?

The Christian Post – July 09, 2016

As I read the news reports, my heart immediately went out to the families. The media has been fueling the flames of racism and hatred for some time and we are reaping the whirlwind.

Yes, hatred and racism do exist, but from my vantage point, not to the degree they are being portrayed. I see tremendous love between the black and white communities — love we should be encouraging.

What if we looked through a different lens other than the lens of the secular media …

What if more people knew that many of America’s founders did not support slavery? The truth is that many of the Founding Fathers were responsible for planting the first seeds of equality and for the eventual end of slavery. John Quincy Adams was often referred to as the “hell-hound of the abolition movement” for his efforts against slavery.

Contemporary Christian band from India packs two Toronto concerts

TORONTO, Ontario, July 4, 2016 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Catholic contemporary Christian band from India has sold out two venues in the Toronto this coming weekend with a hard-hitting message aimed at youth.

Rexband is the musical outreach of the Jesus Youth Movement, which sprang up in Kerala, India’s southernmost state when many charismatic youth groups merged in 1985 to mark the International Year of Youth. Now, Jesus Youth International Director of Youth Formation Manoj Sunny told LifeSite News, it has a presence in 30 countries, always with a strong pro-life theme.

Rexband, which started in 1991,adopted the same pro-life thrust in 1995, said Manoj, after “Pope John Paul II gave out the call to build a ‘culture of life’ in his encyclical Evangelium Vitae.” Since then, said Manoj, “a pro-life message has been at the centre of all of our concerts, wherever we go, irrespective of the country or culture in which we are called to perform.”

As Muslims pray and fast during Ramadan, ‘Man in White’ appears in dreams and visions

June 13, 2016 – by Mark Ellis

Jesus appeared in dreams to this descendant of Muhammad

As hundreds of millions of Muslims fast and pray during Ramadan this month, with many seeking to grow closer to Allah, others are finding Jesus.

“God is moving very powerfully using dreams and visions Muslims are having of the Man in white, of Jesus Himself,” author Joel Rosenberg told CBN recently.

He quoted a 19-page study describing an extraordinary move of God among Muslims.

“From 1960 to 2010, the number of Muslims that have converted to faith in Jesus Christ has grown from fewer than 200,000 to some 10 million people” Rosenberg told CBN.

204 Queensland babies were born alive during abortions then left to die: Health Minister

QUEENSLAND, Australia, June 15, 2016 (LifeSiteNews)

The number of babies born alive during late-term abortions in the Australian state of Queensland every year more than tripled in ten years, Health Minister Cameron Dick told the Queensland Parliament as it considers a bill to legalize abortion on demand in the state.

Abortion is illegal in Queensland except when deemed necessary for the “preservation of the mother’s life,” which courts have interpreted to include physical and mental health.

Dick reported that the number of late-term abortions resulting in live births jumped from eight in 2005 to 27 in 2015.  There have been a total of 204 live births from late-term abortions from 2005 to 2015.  Queensland Health confirmed that these babies are not cared for after their birth and are left to die in abortion centers.

Muslim refugees respond to the Gospel in Nigeria

8 June, 2016 – by Reagan Hoezee

The situation may seem hopeless, but the good news is these people haven’t been abandoned.

“We have these two million people that are actually majority Muslim, but they’re consolidated into dozens of refugee camps all across that northern part of the country, and they’ve really become accessible for not only relief activity, but the body of Christ to come in there and impact them and just show them the love of Jesus in a very tangible way,” Greg Kelley, CEO of World Mission, says.

Kelley says despite the horrors of terrorism and the suffering it causes, a couple of positives have come from it. First, it has consolidated people and made them easier to reach with humanitarian aid. Second, it has opened people’s hearts to the Gospel.

Christian Persecution Isn’t Just Happening In the Muslim World; It’s Happening In the Hindu World, Too

June 12, 2016 – CBN News

Hindu extremists assaulted and tortured 29 Indian Christians for refusing to give up their faith and convert to Hinduism.
Radical Hindus attempted to force Christians to renounce their faith, reports Open Doors. When the believers refused, the Hindu extremist began to beat the men, women and children.

The group was forced to flee their community and received threats that if they came back they would be killed.

“This is just one of an increasing number of stories of persecution coming out of India,” Open Doors said in a statement. Hindu extremists have been attacking Christians more frequently and more violently. This is happening across India and has increased by 34 percent since 2013.

Pastor Brian Houston Responds to Criticism Over Hillsong NYC Youth Pastor Dressing as ‘Naked Cowboy’ During Church Conference

The Christian Post – Anugrah Kumar – June 04, 2016

Hillsong Senior Pastor Brian C. Houston had responded to reports that his megachurch’s youth pastor went on stage dressed up as the “Naked Cowboy” during last month’s Colour Conference in New York City. He wasn’t naked but still it “won’t happen again,” he said.

“Bobbie – my wife – who was convener of the conference was clearly unaware that this was going to happen and was taken back by it,” Houston wrote on his blog Friday, referring to the conference held May 6 and 7, where a Hillsong youth pastor imitated Times Square’s street performer “Naked Cowboy,” or Robert John Burck, who wears only cowboy boots, a hat and briefs, with a guitar placed strategically to give the illusion of nudity.

ChurchWatch Central, a website that says it monitors “various sects and movements that claim to be Christian,” posted a video of the NYC event and criticized Houston and his church, which has locations in Sydney and other cities in Australia and also in London, Cape Town, Kiev, Germany, Paris, Moscow, Stockholm, New York City and Copenhagen.
