Why Egypt’s Muslims Resent Coptic Christians

October 11, 2016 – Raymond Ibrahim

At a time when Coptic Christians are suffering abuses “every two or three days” in Egypt, a Muslim woman in America has made a video calling for more Muslim hostility against the Christian minority, in this case, in the guise of an economic boycott.

In a video, Ayat Oraby—a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer who has nearly 1.5 million followers on Facebook—recently called the Coptic church a “bunch of gangsters,” a “total mafia” that “rules [Egypt] behind the curtains.”

She accuses the Christians of “stockpiling weapons in churches” and “striving to create a Coptic statelet” in order to continue waging “a war against Islam.”

Former Muslim Now Baptizing Muslim Converts: Reclaiming What the Enemy Has Stolen

George Thomas : Mar 9, 2016 : CBN News

Shahid recently shared a picture showing him baptizing new converts to Christianity on the same shores of North Africa where the Islamic terror group ISIS beheaded 21 Coptic Christians in February 2015.

The Middle East)—[CBN News] Shahid is proof that God is moving powerfully across parts of Muslim-majority Middle East and North Africa.

Shahid (not his real name for security purposes), is from Libya and grew up a devout Muslim.

“As every Libyan, when I was a little boy, I used to go to the Koranic school,” Shahid told Leading The Way (LTW) with Dr. Joseph Youssef, a Christian television and radio ministry that broadcasts in more than 190 countries around the world.

Saudi Singer on Egyptian TV Criticizes Radical Islam, Defends the West

Published Feb. 11, 2016 – Larry Elder

This fight against radical Islam is also a fight within Islam. Where, we constantly ask, are the voices of “moderation” who question the barbarity committed in the name of Islam?

Consider Shams Bandar.

Born in Saudi Arabia, this popular singer renounced her Saudi citizenship, lives in Europe and intends to become a citizen of a European country. On an Egyptian channel called Dream TV, Bandar said to the astonished host, “We have been fighting and shedding blood for 1,400 years, and now we are blaming America and Britain?”

Provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute, here is a translated transcript of the exchange:

Host: “Are you trying to sell the notion that foreign citizenship is the paradise that will save you from the hell of the Arab world?”

Washing Egypt With the Word of God: “Incredible Things Are Happening” in the Country These Days

Nicole James : Aug 26, 2015 : Operation Mobilization

(Egypt)—Ali*, a local worker, has one goal for his life: to wash Egypt with the Word of God. Before 2017, he hopes to distribute two million Bibles to Egyptian Muslims. He hands out Bibles by the carton-full, according to team leader Jared*.

“Ali is not afraid, in any situation, to offer a Bible as a gift,” Jared said. Often, when one family member receives a Bible, other relatives come back to ask for their own copy.

A couple of times a year, Ali and Ibrahim*, another Operation Mobilization (OM) worker, partner with a local ministry. In a courtyard, event volunteers set up displays of used clothing to sell. When a local leaves the event, they receive a Bible.

Why Did Oil-Rich Arab Countries Abandon Muslim Refugees?

September 4, 2015 – Nonie Darwish

Western media is reporting on the Muslim refugee crisis as a humanitarian problem that the West must deal with. But where are the media’s questions about the huge financial and land resources available to oil rich Arab and Muslim countries? Where are the Islamic solutions in this equation?

The world is often lectured to about the urgency of respecting Arab and Islamic brotherly love, but where is the Arab action to rescue fellow Muslims and Arabs from the claws of ISIS?

Where are Arab feminists, especially those who demonstrated against France for banning the hijab? They are silent and doing nothing to rescue thousands of women that are victims of Islamic jihadist rape and enslavement. The only compassionate women helping women in the Middle East are the Christian mother Teresas and Kayla Muellers of the western world.

Where are the mighty Arab armies who waged dozens of wars against Israel? Why aren’t they fighting ISIS and building tent cities in the vast deserts of Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and the wealthy Gulf States? They are all claiming they are “moderate” Muslims and that they are against ISIS. But is one substantive thing they have done?

How One Arab’s Hatred for Israel Turned to Love: All Things Are Possible!

Charles Gardner : Jul 16, 2015 : Israel Today

Even Christians in Egypt are encouraged to hate Jews. In writing essays, for example, the more vitriol you could express against them the higher marks you would get.

Sameh Metry leads a lively 100-strong Arabic congregation in Ealing while at the same time serving as vicar of an English-speaking church in nearby St Hugh’s, Northolt. And he showed his keyboard skills as he led a high-octane worship session during a conference in Manchester aimed at building bridges between Middle Eastern followers of Jesus.

He was born into a Coptic Orthodox family in Upper Egypt and became a born-again Christian at 15.

Prepare for Muslim extremism as we prepared for WW2 says former defence chief

By Hannah Furness, Ben Farmer and Matthew Holehouse – 23 June 2015

Britain must stop “sleepwalking” and prepare to tackle Muslim extremism as seriously as it planned for the Second World War, a former head of the Armed Forces has warned.

Lord Richards of Herstmonceux said extremism poses a “real threat” to the world and condemned dithering politicians too reluctant to lead the way.

Warning that Islamic State militants would wreak a “hell of a lot of damage” in the coming years, he argued the Armed Forces risk being left “on the back foot” by leaders who fail to plan properly.

“I think the problem is that we have not seen that we need to approach this issue of Muslim extremism as we might approach World War Two back in the 30s,” the former Chief of the Defence Staff said.

“This is a real threat to us and we’re sleepwalking in the way we’re approaching it.”

Earthquakes of Faith

By Brian C Stiller , Global Ambassador, World Evangelical Alliance – April 28, 2015

A shaking is taking place in the Muslim world with tectonic rumblings. Signs are early and evidence is anecdotal, yet stories abound and are persuasive. The unsettling of entrenched Islamic faith is making its way into places and with people we assumed were closed to conversations about the Christian faith.

Returning from the Middle East, a journey I’ve made regularly in the past few years, I spoke with those engaged in Christian witness about some possibilities they would not have verbalized twelve months ago. I begin with a story from meeting with Syrian refugees on the Lebanese side of the border.

A worn, gnarled hand gently stroked the bruised face of her two-year-old granddaughter whose front teeth had been broken and face scraped by a serious fall. I sat next to them in their scrabbled together shack in a Syrian refugee camp in the Beqaa Valley, just over the mountains from Syria. The life of “Fadwa” had been shattered first by her husband having been taken prisoner in Syria. Then her daughter died in childbirth because Syrian soldiers at a checkpoint refused to let her go to the hospital in time. Then to stay alive Fadwa was forced to flee from her home in Lebanon and walk three days over the mountains. Today she cares for five adults and six children in a makeshift abode, the main room curtained off from the sleeping room.

Political Commentator Glenn Beck Wonders Why ‘No One’ in U.S. Cares for Christians’ Plight in Middle East

By Isaiah Narciso (news@gospelherald.com) Apr 21, 2015

Conservative political commentator Glenn Beck brought up a controversial issue on Monday, asking why Christians in the United States haven’t done more to help their fellow brethren, who are being persecuted in the Middle East.

In a report filed by Erica Ritz of The Blaze, Beck looked at how American Christians reacted when they defended the “religious freedom” rights a pizza parlor in Indiana. He then noticed how little attention was paid in the U.S. to Christians being persecuted across the Middle East.

“Why does no one care?” Beck said. “When we talked about a Christian pizza parlor just the other day, Christians responded in large numbers. … Here people are getting executed. Shouldn’t the response be exponentially greater when Christians are literally being beheaded and crucified, children being raped and killed every single day?”

Beck then shared a graphic video released by the terror group known as ISIS murdering Christian captives in Libya. (more…)

Videos of Christians forgiving Islamic State spread through Middle East

Stories of forgiveness from people affected by Islamist extremism have now been watched by more than a million people, according to the SAT-7 satellite broadcasting organisation.

Most of those who have watched the videos of a 10-year-old Iraqi girl displaced by Islamic State and of the brother of two Egyptian labourers beheaded in Libya live in the Middle East.

SAT-7’s Egypt director Farid Samir said that the massive interest in the clips shows the impact of “resisting violence through forgiveness”.

The video of 10-year-old Myriam saying she “will ask God to forgive IS” was watched by more than 200,000 people within 42 hours of appearing on the SAT-7 ARABIC Facebook page.

An earlier clip in which an Egyptian Christian called in to a SAT-7 worship programme within days of his two brothers’ deaths at the hands of IS was watched by at least half a million people in the first week and shared on news sites around the world. The videos have also been uploaded by other sites not linked to SAT-7 pages, so that the total viewership is higher still.

Admiral Lyons on Obama’s Strategy: ‘It’s Anti-American … Pro-Islamic, It’s Pro-Iranian, and Pro-Muslim Brotherhood!’

By Michael W. Chapman -March 2, 2015

Admiral James “Ace” Lyons, Jr. (Ret.), the former commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, said that President Barack Obama does have a strategy for dealing with Islamic radicals in the Middle East and it is an “anti-American” and “pro-Islamic” strategy,” as well as “pro-Iranian” and “pro-Muslim Brotherhood” strategy.

In his remarks at a recent Defeat Jihad Summit sponsored by the Center for Security Policy, Admiral Lyons spoke of a number of failed opportunities the United States had, since the late 1970s, to deal a crippling blow to Islamic jihadism and “change the course of history.”

Towards the end of his comments, Admiral Lyons, who commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet under President Ronald Reagan in 1985-87, said, “You know, we all say we have to identify the threat. Well, I think the one who identified it the best was [President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan from Turkey when he said, ‘Islam is Islam. There are no modifiers [e.g., Islamic extremism]. Democracy is the train we ride to our ultimate objective.’”

“He couldn’t have said it any plainer,” said Lyons. “And until you recognize that Islam is a political movement masquerading as a religion, you’re never going to come to grips with it. And as far as a strategy – let me just conclude one thing, as I just had in my latest op-ed — the Obama Administration has a strategy.”
