Faith School Boom “Creates Division”

Peter StokesBy Peter Stokes, Salt Shakers

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,
Where are we truly heading as a nation? Toward a Righteous God or away from Him?

As Bible-believing God-fearing Christians, we must get on our knees and repent, both individually and corporately as the Body of Christ in Australia! Certainly, we’re reaping what we have sowed!

It would appear that the Rudd government’s humanists, like Julia Gillard,  are already hard at work. Am I biased in saying that? Yes. Not politically, but biased toward a worldview we know is the best for our children and our nation – that worldview is a Biblical Christian worldview. We also believe that educational ‘choice’ is important – parents should be able to choose the type of education they want for their children. (more…)

By Michael Ireland, ASSIST News Service

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (ANS) — “Hollywood is beginning to understand what movies Americans want to see. They would also like to take their whole family, including their grandparents, to the movies more often, says Dr. Baehr.

For years, Hollywood and advertising executives have told themselves, that sex and violence sell. However, 2007 box office returns tell a different story from the conventional wisdom that mass media and advertising gurus have been spouting. (more…)

Amazing Scene As 200 Kenyan Children, On Their Own Initiative, Pray For Their Country And Get Miraculous Results

By Michael Ireland : Feb 1, 2008

Ever since the children started praying together, the pastor says there have been no deaths, houses burned or even violence in their section of this slum. Adults recite this fact in amazement. The children, however, don’t even mention it because it’s exactly what they expected to happen. “Pastor told us that there is power in prayer. He said we can change the country through prayer,” says 12-year-old. “So that is what we are doing, changing the country.”

Praying Kenyan kids(Kenya)—In the latest edition of Missions Catalyst, Sue Sprenkle, an overseas correspondent for the International Mission Board, who has been reporting from Africa for 10 years describes a scene inside the small, tin shack of a Baptist church filled with children. “After three weeks of post-election violence, it’s good to hear the sounds of children laughing and playing—especially in the hard-hit slums of Nairobi,” she says.
“My heart overflows with emotion as I hear a sound even more precious than laughter—a child’s sweet, innocent prayer.”

“Father, our country is in trouble. We pray for peace to come,” an 11-year-old boy prays. “Protect us, Father. Teach people to love one another and not to fight anymore.” (more…)

Couple Jailed For Contempt In Vilification Case

Barney Zwartz – The Age
February 21, 2008

A NSW couple who defied a court order under Victoria’s religious vilification law are both serving nine months in Victorian prisons.

Vivienne Legg and Dyson Devine posted on their website claims that an occult group, the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO), was really a pedophile ring in Victoria, and that its activities included hosting parties at which naked children served as waiters and members had sex with and murdered children.

Those claims were the subject of a previous OTO religious vilification complaint against the 1997 Young Australian of the Year, Dr Reina Michaelson, founder of the Child Sex Abuse Prevention Program and author of the article posted on the couple’s web site. That case was settled out of court in November 2006. (more…)

Man in India Delivered Completely by God after Trying Everything Else; a Testimony to Entire Village

By Gospel for Asia: Feb 17, 2008

“Nogen’s dramatic healing was a testimony to the power of Christ. After seeing the change that Christ brought into his life, many people in Nogen’s village chose to put their trust in Jesus, too.”

Villager(Jharkhand, India)—Nogen acted like a madman. He ran wildly from one place to another in his village in Jharkhand, India. He was incoherent and could no longer speak clearly. Of course, Nogen’s family was concerned and tried all they knew to get help for him. What they did not understand was that Nogen was being controlled by a demonic spirit.

Nogen’s family asked GFA missionary Kamat Ramtake to pray for Nogen.

Kamat prayed for him, and slowly Nogen began to regain his senses. But the family decided it would be good to also take him to a local witch doctor, who said a mantra over him. Much to their surprise, Nogen got worse after the witch doctor’s incantations. (more…)

CHARIOT WHEELS FOUND IN THE RED SEA

What great faith the Israelites must have had to begin their descent 11 miles down and then back up again to reach the other side of the Great Red Sea.  Can you imagine the feelings they must have had? God always takes care of us but is our faith as strong as theirs must have been?

Expert: Liberal Christianity Intensifies Radical Islam Threat

Michelle A. Vu, Christian Post Reporter – 7th February, 2008

The Western church’s growing tendency to blur theological differences and not uphold the absolute truth is contributing to the threat of radical Islam to the Western world, said a highly respected expert on Islam.

“When faced with the uniqueness of Christ we become inclusive. He loves everybody so we talk about love, and hell and damnation goes out the window,” said Sookhdeo. “It becomes too embarrassing. So our church has conformed itself according to society.”

Patrick SookhdeoSookhdeo – a former Muslim and advisor to British, American and NATO military officials on jihadist ideology – recently spoke to 1,500 people at Focus on the Family (FOTF)’s headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo, about the threat of radical Islam to the Western world. The event was broadcasted in two parts by FOTF this week, the last part of which aired on Wednesday.

Christians are afraid to admit that only believers in Jesus Christ will be saved and others – Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists – are lost, because that would be arrogance in a society dominated by secular humanist ideology, Sookhdeo argued. (more…)

Rudd supports homosexual ‘pride’ – 1,000 Homosexuals encouraged to “come out and enjoy Melbourne”

Pride March Photo: Vicki Jones

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,

The following is an email from Salt Shakers with attachments of some very shocking articles regarding the Rudd Government’s unrighteous support of the ‘Homosexual Pride March’ in Melbourne and ‘Sexual Diversity’.

As Bible-believing God-fearing Christians, what do you think our Almighty Father, the Righteous Judge of Heaven and Earth, is thinking and feeling as our federal government endorses gross public sin and wickedness?

Following is an excerpt from the attached article, ‘Rudd declares his support for Pride March’:  As part of the post-march celebrations, the new member for Albert Park, Martin Foley, passed on a message of support from Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who said his government would “continue to march towards tolerance, respect and diversity”.  (more…)

Barnabas Fund Response to the Archbishop of Canterbury`s recommendation to apply Islamic law in the UK

Copyright © Barnabas Fund – 11th February 2008

UNITED KINGDOM

Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, argued in a lunchtime radio interview on Thursday 7th February that the adoption of Islamic law, shari`a, in Britain is unavoidable. In the evening he gave a lecture at the Royal Courts of Justice (organised by the Temple Church and the Centre of Islamic and Middle East Law at London University`s School of Oriental and African Studies) in which his main argument seemed to be that in a plural multi-faith society the concept of one universal law for all citizens must be adapted to accommodate the reality of other law traditions in minority communities. He elaborated especially on the Muslim community in the UK and on Islamic law, and argued for an accommodation between English law and Islamic law so that either law system could be used for dispute resolution and for marriage, divorce, inheritance and other matters. President Bush Delivers His Last White House Prayer Breakfast Speech

President George W. Bush acknowledges the applause as he attends the 56th National Prayer Breakfast Thursday, Feb. 8, 2008, at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Said the President, by President George W. Bush : Feb 8, 2008 : The White House

“The more time we spend with God, the more we see that He is not a distant king, but a loving Father…When we spend time with the Almighty, we realize how much He has bestowed upon us, and our hearts are filled with joy. We discover that by surrendering our lives to the Almighty, we are strengthened, refreshed, and ready for all that may come.”

The following are excerpts from White House transcripts:

THE PRESIDENT: It is fitting that we gather in prayer, because we recognize a prayerful nation is a stronger nation. (Applause.)

Every President since Dwight Eisenhower has attended the National Prayer Breakfast, and I am really proud to carry on that tradition. It’s an important tradition, and I’m confident Presidents who follow me will do the same. The people in this room come from many different walks of faith. Yet we share one clear conviction: We believe that the Almighty hears our prayers, and answers those who seek Him. That’s what we believe; otherwise, why come? Through the miracle of prayer, we believe He listens—if we listen to His voice and seek…His presence in our lives—our hearts will change. And in so doing, in seeking God, we grow in ways that we could never imagine. (White House photo by Joyce N. Boghosian) (more…)
