Global Prayer London(London, UK)—Churches from across London will converge on Westminster Chapel in central London this Friday, [at 7pm local time], to launch the Global Day of Prayer London 2008, and celebrate the completion of London’s prayer marathon.

According to a story on the Christian Today website, thousands of individuals from hundreds of churches representing Christianity across England’s capital city joined together in continuous prayer for London every minute of each day in 2007. (more…)

Following is a report on my recent trip to Sri Lanka – Challenging but Exciting

For 10 days in January I had the opportunity of visiting my country of birth, Sri Lanka, along with Pastor Bob Cotton from Maitland AOG in NSW. The purpose of the trip was both ministry and personal, as I joined with my family to celebrate the wedding of my nephew, who lives in London, and was married in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

2 bombs exploded a few days before we arrived in Sri Lanka. 3 or 4 more blasted while we were there, in addition  another 2 bombs exploding on the day we left Sri Lanka, killing more than 20 people and injuring around 65 people. (more…)

Greatest Turnout Yet: 25,000 Attend Fourth Annual Walk for Life in San Francisco

Abortion survivor testifies: “The abortionist signed my birth certificate. My life is not defined by abortion. I am not a victim, I am a victor.”

(San Francisco)—25,000 participants attended the Walk for Life West, an event attached to Martin Luther King Jr. celebrations on Sunday.

Those who participated in the walk for life bore signs and banners that read “Abortion Hurts Women” and “Women Deserve Better.” Eight California Catholic bishops were on hand to support the event. An estimated 250 pro-abortion advocates came to counter-protest the police-guarded march.

Gianna Jessen, who developed cerebral palsy as an infant after an attempted saline abortion in Los Angeles, gave an address to the crowds at the rally before the march.

“I was aborted and did not die,” she said. “I will limp my way into heaven.”

Former Archbishop Lays into Islamic Culture

Lord Carey, the former archbishop of Canterbury, has launched a trenchant attack on Islamic culture, saying it was authoritarian, inflexible and under-achieving.

In a speech that will upset sensitive relations between the faiths, he denounced moderate Muslims for failing unequivocally to condemn the “evil” of suicide bombers.

Great Hall 600 Gathered to PrayOn 22nd October 2007 around 650-700 Christians united to pray for our nation at Parliament House in Canberra. This interdenominational prayer gathering was coordinated by Catch The Fire Ministries and supported by many prayer ministries, churches, and Christian organizations from across the nation.

As I was leading the prayer service from the stage in the Great Hall of Parliament House, I suddenly noticed that something was very wrong near the back right side of the hall, as a group of people were running franticly to help someone.  (more…)
