“This man stood up for the Body of Christ against the vilification law; he was persecuted by many in the Body of Christ for his stand, but he pushed through for you and me so that we still have that freedom to openly share Jesus Christ.

From the Prophetic office he gave direction to the Church for our Nation, but the church did not take heed to what he had said – that the Body of Christ unite in prayer and action.  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

I believe we are at a very pivotal time for our nation and for the church.

Responding to Australian Prayer Network’s Analysis of Federal Election 2007

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,

Over the last week, a few people have contacted me with questions regarding the Australian Prayer Network’s comments released on the 30th November about the outcome of Federal Election 2007.

Some concerned Christians have also asked me whether Brian Pickering spoke with me before releasing his article through the Australian Prayer Network on the 30th November. The answer is ‘no’ and I choose not to comment any further. However, below is a email which was sent from another Christian Leader to Brian Pickering (and copied to me) at APN in response to their analysis of Federal Election 2007.

Prayers Answered – Record Breaking Rains Continue

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,

We just received this very exciting email from a supporter of Catch the Fire Ministries who attended the ‘National Prayer Call’ at the Great Hall in Parliament House in Canberra on 22nd Oct 2007. I pray that you’re wonderfully blessed as you read the miraculous answers to united prayer for rain across our nation. Yesterday on the 3rd December, we in Melbourne experienced more than 30mm of rain. I personally want to thank all of our faithful supporters from across our nation who joined together in praying for rain. Possibly you would be aware that over the past weekend the newspapers across the nation have reported several alarming statements by Prime Minister elect Kevin Rudd (who professes Christianity as his personal faith) regarding ‘God and Politics’. Many Christian leaders across Australia have promoted Kevin Rudd as an alternative Christian candidate to former PM John Howard. Unfortunately (or fortunately), within a week of being elected as Australia’s new Prime Minister, Mr. Rudd is making it very clear where he truly stands now. The ACT has revived its bid to allow gay marriages now that the federal Liberal Party which twice blocked the plan is out of the way.
ACT Attorney-General Simon Corbell said yesterday he was optimistic the new Rudd government would not prevent the laws finally going through.

With the change of government, gay unions in the ACT could become law early next year a cause for celebration for Nadine Howard when she heard the news last night. (more…)

Even If The Truth Is Unpopular It Is Still The Truth

Dear Pastor Danny,   

I want to encourage you to keep declaring the truth according to God’s Word regardless of how it is received.

I noted that when you declared what the Lord had told you, you included the word “IF”. While some would see this as a disclaimer for you to dodge criticism should the prophetic word not come to pass – the “IF” is meant to be an encouragement & motivation to the Church.  2 Chron 7:14  is an example of this type of condition. “IF my people….. etc”.  Obviously, the condition was not met. “Do you believe Jesus is the son of God?” the man asked.

Mr Rudd seemed initially perplexed, but then answered by saying that his status as a regular churchgoer was well-known.
