Christian Groups Form Freedom Federation

BibleA cross-section of conservative Christian groups have united to form a federation that will promote biblical values in political, social and cultural arenas.

Announced Tuesday during a press conference in Washington, D.C., the Freedom Federation comprises more than two dozen groups, including the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, Teen Mania, Liberty University, TheCall, MorningStar Ministries; Concerned Women for America, the High Impact Leadership Coalition and Strang Communications, which publishes Charisma magazine.

“There is nothing that has ever existed on this kind of broad-based, large scale that is truly multiethnic and transgenerational,” said Mathew D. Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, which is a founding member of the federation. “So it really provides a unique component to [address] these issues that has never existed before.”

Staver said the groups signed a Declaration of American Values, which affirms 10 principles including the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, religious liberty and limited government. He said the organization is primarily spiritual, but federation members will network to mobilize their constituents to protect those values when challenged politically or socially. (more…)

Rabbis To Obama: Stop Pressing On Capital

‘You don’t want to enter list of those who raised a hand against Jerusalem’

By Aaron Klein

President Obama boards Air Force OneJERUSALEM – Leading rabbis in Israel released a petition yesterday demanding President Obama cease pressuring the Jewish state on the issue of Jerusalem.

“Jerusalem is off limits, and we respectfully request that you stop all talk and pressure against Jewish construction in Jerusalem,” reads a petition signed by 250 members of the Rabbinical Congress for Peace.

The Congress is a coalition of Israeli rabbinic leaders, including pulpit rabbis and some of the most prestigious names in the Torah community.

“During these days when our nation mourns the destruction of Jerusalem and remembers in abhorrence those that destroyed it, we are sure that you, Mr. President, do not want to enter the list of those who raised a hand on Jerusalem and its Jewish inhabitants,” the rabbis write.

The rabbis state that besides the sanctity of Jerusalem, it is “totally illogical” to “even think” about negotiating with the Palestinians, pointing out “every piece of territory” taken over by the Palestinian Authority was turned into a sanctuary for terrorism and a launching for attacks against Jews. Americans Are Beginning To Understand The Left

By Dennis Prager

US FlagThere is only one good thing about the Obama administration’s attempts to nationalize most health care and to begin to control Americans’ energy consumption through cap and trade: clarity about the left. These attempts are enabling more and more Americans to understand the thinking and therefore the danger of the left.

The left has its first president – with the possible exception of Franklin Delano Roosevelt – and for the first time controls the Democratic Party and both houses of Congress. In the name of compassion for the sick and the poor and in the name of preventing worldwide environmental catastrophe, it is attempting to remake America.

In so doing some principles of the left are becoming clearer to more Americans:

Principle 1: The left, as distinct from traditional liberals, is not, and has never been, interested in creating wealth. The left is no more interested in creating wealth than Christians are in creating Muslims or Muslims in creating Christians. The left is interested in redistributing wealth, not creating it. The left spends the wealth that private enterprise and entrepreneurial risk-taking individuals create. (more…)

3 Powerful Testimonies From Pastor Danny’s Recent Minstry Trip In Colac

Healing Testimony 1Dear family & friends in Christ,

Following are 3 powerful testimonies of the Lord’s miraculous healing and supernatural restoration as a result of a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost when Pastor Danny and a team from Catch the Fire ministered in Colac, Victoria from the 1st – 2nd August. We pray that you will be greatly blessed by the great things the Father in Heaven continues to do for His Glory!

Healing Testimony 1 “On the evening of the 1st of August 2009, I went out the front of the church to the healing line.  Here, Pastor Danny anointed me with oil and I said to him, “I do not wish to fall down as I’ve just had stents put in both my legs.” He arranged a chair for me to sit on. After a few seconds I felt my both legs becoming hot; then they felt as if they were growing huge as the Holy Spirit worked on me. There were strange movements in the legs then pins and needles. As they subsided my legs began to feel normal, no pain, but slightly numb. I felt the Holy Spirit move up my right arm, and as it hit spots where I’d previously felt pain months before, I felt the same pain as I’d felt before. The same happened to the other arm, then I felt a sharp pain in the heart area twice, and felt fearful for a moment, wondering what was going to happen next. When I stood up I was like a drunk woman, and couldn’t balance or walk straight. Gradually after I went home, I was able to walk straight. I was so happy, so grateful as I’d never felt the Holy Spirit before, but had been prayed for after baptism to receive the Holy Spirit 50 years before, although I did see visions over the years.I woke up this morning, 2nd of August 2009, with no pain whatsoever, and will feel eternally grateful for the Lord’s gift of healing through the Holy Spirit. Sylvia”

Netanyahu Tight-Lipped About Imminent Iran Attack

Israeli warships cross Red Sea in apparent signal to Tehran

By Aaron Klein

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin NetanyahuJERUSALEM – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office refused to respond to a report today purporting to quote an Israeli defense official stating the recent deployment of warships across the Red Sea should be seen as serious preparation for an attack on Iran.

“It is not our policy to comment on such reports,” Mark Regev, Netanyahu’s spokesman, told WND.

Earlier this week, two Israel Navy gunboats openly sailed through the Suez Canal into the Red Sea with permission from Egypt.

“This is preparation that should be taken seriously. Israel is investing time in preparing itself for the complexity of an attack on Iran. These maneuvers are a message to Iran that Israel will follow up on its threats,” the Times of London today quoted what it said was an Israeli defense official as saying.

The warship movements follow the passage last month of an Israeli Dolphin-class submarine through the canal, later returning the same way. (more…)

Controversial Church Of England Bishop Nazir-Ali Tells Gays To ‘Change And Repent’

By Mail On Sunday Reporter

Bishop of Rochester, Dr Michael Nazir-AliA Church of England bishop urged homosexuals to ‘repent and be changed’, as he joins a coalition of conservative parishes opposed to single-sex unions.

In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, The Bishop of Rochester, Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, said people who stray from traditional Bible teachings ‘do not share the same faith’.

The coalition, which has been labelled a ‘church within a church’, claims to have the support of the Queen. Organisers said she had sent a message to leaders of the movement, saying she understood their concern about the future of the Anglican Communion.

Row: the comments from Bishop of Rochester, Dr Michael Nazir-Ali will be seen as a direct challenge to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Dr Nazir-Ali spoke after more than half a million people, including the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown, took to the streets of London yesterday to celebrate gay culture at the annual Pride festival. (more…)

In Europe An Octopus Now Has More Rights Than An Unborn Baby

What do you call a continent which cares more about the rights and wellbeing of crabs, lobsters, and even the common octopus, than it does about unborn babies? Just in case you cannot come up with anything, let me suggest a few possibilities: deranged, degenerate, despicable and delirious. And just to keep the alliteration going: dumb, really dumb.

This is how the New Scientist begins its coverage of this bizarre story: “Animal welfare legislation generally applies only to vertebrates. There are, however, moves to include invertebrates. Proposed changes to European law, for example, would extend welfare laws to crabs and lobsters. Up to now the only invertebrate protected is the common octopus.

“‘Invertebrate rights’ has become a campaigning issue. Advocates for Animals recently produced a report which concludes that there is ‘potential for experiencing pain and suffering’ in crustaceans. The group is particularly concerned about boiling lobsters alive. The wider public is also showing interest. Research supposedly demonstrating that hermit crabs feel and remember pain received worldwide news coverage” (more…)

Pursuing The Churches Over Human Rights Is Contradictory

Peter CostelloPeter Costello

July 29, 2009 – The Age

A proposed charter may be used to curtail religious freedom.

WHAT happens when equal rights between men and women are so widely accepted that mainstream Australia hardly thinks about it? Surely it is time to acknowledge that anti-discrimination statutes have done their job?

Not according to the Victorian Government. It harbours the view that discrimination has got sophisticated – so hard to find under current law – that we must widen the law to catch more of it. One area in the State Government’s sights is religious bodies, and their schools. (more…)

Religious Exceptions – Church v State

The CrossWith the Victorian government currently considering all the ‘exceptions’ and exemptions’ in Victoria’s Equal Opportunity Act, things are starting to heat up!

The religious exceptions in the Act are causing a great deal of concern among many Christian groups.

Section 75 covers churches and religious schools, Section 76 covers religious schools and Section 77 covers individuals.

The exceptions say that religious bodies and so on are excepted from the anti-discrimination laws. They mean, for example, that Christian schools can specify that those they employ have Christian beliefs and lifestyles that are consistent with their Christian beliefs.

The Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee put out an Options Paper in May 2009 and asked for submissions. Over 1,000 were received and the Committee is now analysing them.   (more…)

Atheist Father’s Prayers Answered; Now He’s “Considering Going To Church And Being A Believer”

Ava IsabellaBy Teresa NeumannBreaking Christian News

“I was an atheist. Now I’m considering going to church and being a believer. There’s got to be someone up there who’s saving our little daughter.”

(Buffalo, NY)—Miracle baby, one-week-old Ava Isabella Stinson weighs only 2 pounds 4 ounces, but the tiny tike is already changing the lives of the people around her. Like her parents, Natalie Paquette and Richard Stinson.

It all started when Natalie went into labor three months before her due date and found there was “no room at the Inn” for hospital care for the premature Ava in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, where a shortage of neonatal beds is an ongoing problem. (more…)
