28 Nations Who Prayed for America

Call to Prayer Ministries International – May 8, 2013

“We can only believe that God has indeed used ‘the extraordinary prayers of His people’ around the world to bless America!” -David Rowsome

(Unanderra, Australia)—A world-wide call to pray and fast for the USA went out from Australia and New Zealand on 25 April 2013 from the team at Australia’s National Day of Prayer and Fasting.

The Australian team felt led by God to bridge the US National Day of Repentance on April 30 and the US National Day of Prayer on May 2, with a worldwide call for 72 hours of prayer and fasting for the USA. This was humbly and gratefully received by American prayer leaders during a teleconference on April 24.

David Rowsome, one of the Australian organizers, said, “As we look back we stand amazed at what the Lord has done. The response from around the world to this prayer call surprised us all.

“Jonathan Edwards, the mighty American revivalist of the First Great Awakening and widely acknowledged as America’s greatest theologian, wrote in 1740, ‘When God has something very great to accomplish for His church, it is His will that there should precede it the extraordinary prayers of His people.’

“We believe this is what we have just witnessed in this world-wide call to prayer. Many media outlets and prayer networks, including several global ones, very quickly took up this call. Confirmed reports from 28 countries around the world have been received and we believe there could very well be many more. We will not know the full response this side of eternity. But God does!”

Media Censors London Beheader Using Koran to Justify Atrocity

May 22, 2013 By Daniel Greenfield

You know that part in the video where the announcer is speaking over the Muslim killer. That’s the part where the killer is saying, “Many, many Ayah throughout the Koran that we must fight them as they fight us.” Instead the official media video cuts the Koran part out and picks up only when the Muslim killer says, “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.”

That doctrine is used today by Muslim countries to demand a literal eye for an eye justice.

In August 2000, the Saudi Arabian media reported that Abdel Moti Abdel Rahman Mohammad, a 37-year-old-Egyptian national was subjected to forcible surgical removal of his left eye at King Fahd Hospital in Medina. The operation was carried out as a judicial punishment of Qisas after he was found guilty of disfiguring Shahata Ajami Mahmoud, a 53-year-old Egyptian.

So it’s not some sort of misunderstanding. This is mainstream Islam. And it’s horrifying.

But there is a larger context. The Koran, as usual, is blasting the Jews for not keeping the law of Allah, which Mohammed believed, actually involved taking out an eye for an eye.  The Jews never practiced this. Mohammed however insisted on it and laid out proper doctrine.

“The reward of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive to create disorder in the land is only this that they be slain or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on alternate sides, or they be expelled from the land.” (Quran 5:34)

Richard Land: When Does a Human Become Human?

Charisma News – 5/20/2013 Abby Carr

The guilty verdict for abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has spurred a new conversation in America about the sanctity of human life. Last week’s conviction of Gosnell on three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies has many asking when life begins—and how we can protect it in the future. Among them is Richard Land, newly appointed president-elect of Southern Evangelical Seminary, a leader in apologetics education.

Last week, Gosnell, 72, was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies born alive in his West Philadelphia clinic. He was acquitted of killing a fourth newborn during an illegal late-term abortion in a dirty clinic that served mostly low-income women and teens and went years without a state inspection.

After 10 days of deliberation, the jury also found Gosnell guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a patient who died from an overdose of sedatives. Gosnell was sentenced to three life terms in prison without parole. It has been widely reported that Gosnell performed 40,136 abortions in his clinic from 1988 to 2009.

Christian Persecution is Motivating Muslims ‘To Know Christ’

By Janet Parshall – Special to CP – May 13, 2013

With all of the unrest being reported in countries like Egypt, Syria and Libya, perhaps the real untold story is the record number of Christians leaving the Muslim world.

According to Open Doors USA, at least 100 million Christians in 65 countries suffer persecution. For example, as the situation in Syria continues to intensify, it is very easy to forget the plight of Syrian Christians who are fleeing the country.

In his new book, Crucified Again, Raymond Ibrahim writes that Christians in that country are being targeted for kidnapping, plundering and beheadings. He reports that regions and towns that were once populated with Christians are now emptied.

Ibrahim was raised by Egyptian Coptic Christians and has detailed how, in October of 2012, the last Christian was murder in Homs, a vibrant Christian community that was once home to 80,000 believers. Tom Doyle, of e3 Partners, has said the Syrian situation is one of the “largest humanitarian disasters in the Middle East in probably the last ten years.”

But the crisis for Christians goes beyond Syria. Nigeria is now the country with the highest number of slaughtered Christians. Last year, more than 900 Christ-followers were victims of the Boko Haram group and other Islamic militants.

Netanyahu Warns: Let’s Not ‘Delude Ourselves’ About the ‘Moderate’ New Iranian Leader

Jun. 16, 2013 Sharona Schwartz – The Blaze

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Sunday that world leaders should neither be fooled by the results of Friday’s election in Iran nor be encouraged to let up pressure regarding the country’s nuclear program.

Iranian President-elect Hasan Rowhani is being widely described as a “moderate,” a description Netanyahu took issue with in his first public reaction to the election.

Netanyahu said the world should keep up pressure on Iran to rein in its nuclear programme and avoid thinking the election of a moderate president will bring change.

At the beginning of the weekly meeting with his cabinet, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Regarding the results of the elections in Iran, let us not delude ourselves. The international community must not become caught up in wishes and be tempted to relax the pressure on Iran to stop its nuclear program,” according to an official transcript.

“It must be remembered that the Iranian ruler, at the outset, disqualified candidates who did not fit his extremist outlook and from among those whose candidacies he allowed was elected the candidate who was seen as less identified with the regime, who still defines the state of Israel as ‘the great Zionist Satan,’” Netanyahu said.

Questioning just how much influence the position of president holds in the Islamic Republic, Netanyahu said, “In any case, the ruler of Iran is the supreme leader, not the president, and it is he who determines nuclear policy. The more the pressure on Iran increases, the greater is the chance of stopping the Iranian nuclear program, which remains the greatest threat to world peace.”

UK gay ‘marriage’ bill ignores children’s right to a mother and father: campaign group

by Hilary White – WESTMINSTER, June 17, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com

The needs of children of a father and mother are being ignored in favor of the putative “rights” of homosexuals in the rush to pass the same-sex “marriage” bill, a family campaign group has said.

The coalition government’s same-sex “marriage” bill is being considered in a committee of the House of Lords started today after being passed “in principle” in an overwhelming vote of 390 – 148 in favor.

Gay Marriage, No Thanks says it is aiming “to put the wellbeing of children at the centre of the same-sex marriage debate.”

The group called Gay Marriage, No Thanks, an “informal group of professionals and parents,” said today that the bill is entirely “adult focused” and ignores the human right of children to be reared by both natural parents. The group says it aims “to put the wellbeing of children at the centre of the same-sex marriage debate.”

The Australian Defence Force protects Islam

Blog Posted by: Bernard Gaynor

You simply cannot be surprised at what a government body, so rotten at the top that it supports public displays of sexual indecency in front of children, will get up to.

In the case of the Australian Defence Force, its leadership are now protecting Islam. The organisation charged with defending this country is assisting in the spread of the enemy’s doctrine and ideology. It reeks of treachery and treason.

Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not having a go at the Diggers. They are fine soldiers who have done brave things on the battlefield in Afghanistan.

But their efforts have been in vain. The war is a massive failure. Soldiers have shed their blood trying to defeat an enemy that is being welcomed into our very borders.

Everyone knows that Australia and the rest of the Western World are hightailing it out of Afghanistan as fast as they can. And just like Iraq, which is sliding back into civil war, Afghanistan will be left in a worse situation than when we arrived. Its future is as a breeding ground for more murderous Islamic brutality, strengthened by the knowledge that the might of Western civilisation is defeated.

Now soldiers are not even allowed to speak the truth about the enemy’s belief system. While they are muzzled, the hierarchy sprouts off that there is nothing wrong with Islam; that a growing Islamic community is a good thing for this country. Indeed, it must be respected.

Messianic Jews: ‘The Most Hated People on Earth’

Charisma News – 5/3/2013 Chaim Goldberg/Maoz Israel

A few years ago, I was asked to produce a short-film for the Negev Tourism Office. Specifically, they wanted me to help them make a video advertisement promoting all the sites and attractions in the Israeli desert.

Why did they come to me? Because I’m a Messianic Jew, and they wanted the video to target Christian tourists around the world. They needed someone who spoke “Christianese,” who would know how to market what they were selling to a specific audience.

I remember arriving at the bus station in Beersheva to meet the crew I’d be working with on the film. Someone from the tourism office was there to pick me up, and I was a bit surprised to see they sent an orthodox woman. I could tell by the way she was dressed that she was religious.

She couldn’t have been more welcoming, and she was so excited to take me around to all of the historical sites that would be featured in the video.

After a couple hours in the car together, visiting everything from Abraham’s well to various war memorials, we had become chatty and seemed to be enjoying one another’s company.

I got up the courage to ask her how she felt about this project we were working on, and specifically how she felt about working with a Jew who believed in Yeshua.

Her answer rings in my ear to this day.

“Chaim,” she said, “some Israelis hate the religious. Some hate the secular. But everyone hates you.”

French rally against gay marriage

Paris: Riot police have battled hundreds of troublemakers in Paris at the end of a largely peaceful march by tens of thousands opposed to France’s new gay marriage law.

Sunday’s main demonstration saw three separate processions converging on the Invalides esplanade, filling the huge promenade with pink and blue – the official colours of the anti-gay marriage movement.

Police said 150,000 people turned out to protest, a figure immediately contested by organisers of the demonstration who said one million opponents of the law had shown up.

By early evening, no incidents had been reported despite the presence of far-right activists, some of whom briefly unfurled a banner at the ruling Socialist party’s headquarters urging President Francois Hollande to resign.

But as the protesters dispersed, police said up to 500 people began attacking them by throwing metal barriers, smoke flares and beer bottles.

Police said they arrested 96 people and used tear gas to fight off the troublemakers.

Faith Behind the Fascination with Margaret Thatcher’s Grandchildren

Teresa Neumann (Apr 26, 2013)

Amanda Thatcher’s much heralded reading from Ephesians at her grandmother’s funeral is due to the fact that “she knows God” and “has a mother who loves the Lord.”

(The U.K.) – Margaret Thatcher’s granddaughter, Amanda Thatcher, who was raised in the United States, wowed churchgoers at her grandmother’s funeral when she eloquently read from the book of Ephesians (click here to see video).

“Flawless!” gushed funeral attendants of the poised 19-year-old student, no doubt surprised that an American could be as articulate as their British counterparts. (Photo: NY Daily News)

Now, as revealed by Amanda’s mother, Diane Beckett – daughter-in-law of the late Prime Minister – not only is confidence, presence and articulation “in the blood,” it’s also a product of faith.

An article in The Telegraph details how Amanda Thatcher met and married Margaret Thatcher’s son Mark, whom she met in Texas in 1986 and later divorced. Today, Amanda is married to publishing magnate, James Beckett. According to the report, their family’s belief in God is the “bedrock of their life.”

Colorado Christians Answering the Prayers of Orphans

5/10/2013 Charlene Israel/CBN News

Each year thousands of children enter America’s foster care system and state workers are often overwhelmed with the task of finding them a safe home, but a growing number of Christians are getting involved to help ease the burden.

If you ever take the time to hear them, all of these children long for a sense of normalcy and peace—a place to call home.

“Will I ever be enough to be loved?” asks one 5-year-old foster girl.

After being placed with a permanent family, one 12-year-old boy commented, “I have a dream.”

“This time someone wanted me and I didn’t have to say goodbye,” he said.

In James 1:27, the Bible speaks of children without parents and the answer to their needs:

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”

Islam’s Collective Punishment of Christians

by Raymond Ibrahim, Investigative Project on Terrorism, April 18, 2013

As many of Israel’s critics portray it as collectively punishing the Palestinians, overlooked and unsaid is the greater frequency with which Muslims collectively punish the religious minorities living under their authority, often in atrocious ways.

Consider Egypt alone. The most recent attacks on Egypt’s Copts, culminating in the unprecedented besiegement of the St. Mark Cathedral, the holiest site of Coptic Orthodoxy, is the latest large-scale “collective punishment” of the nation’s indigenous Christian minority. Indeed, almost all of the major attacks on Copts are carried out in the context of collective punishment, based on the idea that, if just one Christian upsets Muslims, all Christians—and their churches and their women and their children—become fair game.

Collectively punishing “upstart” religious minorities who refuse to know their place in the Islamic order actually has doctrinal backing. According to Mark Durie, author of The Third Choice: “Even a breach by a single individual dhimmi [non-Muslim living under Muslim authority] could result in jihad being enacted against the whole community. Muslim jurists have made this principle explicit, for example, the Yemeni jurist al-Murtada wrote that ‘The agreement will be canceled if all or some of them break it…’ and the Moroccan al-Maghili taught ‘The fact that one individual (or one group) among them has broken the statute is enough to invalidate it for all of them.'”

The latest collective punishment visited upon the Copts began in Khosous, near Cairo, on April 5, when a longstanding feud between a Christian family and a Muslim family—based on male Muslims sexually harassing Christian girls—culminated in the violent deaths of six Christians, including one set on fire, and one Muslim. In retribution, Muslims went on yet another “Friday-rampage”—Friday being the day Muslims meet and pray and hate and call for jihads on Christians—resulting in the injury of at least 20 other Copts, an attack on a Coptic church, and an Evangelical church set on fire.

Iran moves American Christian to solitary confinement over prayer protest

FoxNews.com, April 29, 2013 – By Lisa Daftari

The American pastor jailed in Iran for his faith has been placed in solitary confinement and may now be suffering organ failure, according to family members in Iran who are increasingly alarmed at his deteriorating health.

Saeed Abedini, the 32-year-old Christian and American citizen who is serving an eight-year prison term in Iran, was put in solitary confinement following a “peaceful, silent protest” in an outside courtyard at Iran’s notoriously brutal Evin prison, according to family members. Conditions at the prison prompted Abedini and other prisoners to sign a petition decrying the lack of medical care and the threats and harsh treatment facing family members who come to visit.

The protest angered prison officials who retaliated by placing Abedini and nine others in solitary confinement.

“Saeed had previously told his family that when he was in solitary confinement in the past, that was the hardest time in his life. That every hour was like one year and that he was losing his memory and his health was deteriorating quickly,” said his wife, Naghmeh Abedini, who is at the family’s home in Idaho with their two young children.
