The Church and Islam: The Next Cover-up Scandal

A Voice for the Faithful Catholic Laity – August 10, 2016

“#NotMyPope.” In the wake of Pope Francis’ equivocal response to the murder of a French priest by two Islamic jihadists, that’s the top trending hashtag in France and in Belgium.

Which raises a question: Is the Pope doing more harm than good by continuing to deny—in the face of a mountain of evidence—that Islam has anything to do with violence?

As I’ve noted several times in the past, the Church’s handling of the Islamic crisis may prove to be far more scandalous than its handling of the sex abuse crisis. The main scandal surrounding the revelation of priestly sex abuse was that it was covered up for a very long time by priests, pastors, and even bishops.

Trump: “We must take on the ideology of radical Islam”

August 16, 2016 – by  Robert Spencer

After having spent years ignoring, denying and enabling the motivating ideology behind jihad terror, it would be good to confront it. As I noted here, that the political and media elites are so profoundly threatened by this is telling in itself.

The jihadis are at war with the United States, and those who have sworn to protect and defend this nation are determined instead, above all things, to make sure that we do not think negatively about the belief system that inspired this war against us and incites its adherents to attack us.

This is madness, and must stop. Trump, for all his many flaws, is the first candidate to buck this sinister agenda, and the most honest presidential candidate about the jihad threat since John Quincy Adams.

Ravi Zacharias: In Today’s Moral Graveyard the Church Must be a Place Where Sermons Aren’t Just Heard, But SEEN

Leah Marieann Klett : Jul 12, 2016 : The Gospel Herald

“We are always near the breaking-point when we care only for what is legal and nothing for what is lawful.

Unless we have a moral principle about such delicate matters as marriage and murder, the whole world will become a welter of exceptions with no rules.

There will be so many hard cases that everything will go soft.” – Ravi Zacharias, on why legalizing gay marriage took the divide between the Church and secular world to a breaking point.

[The Gospel Herald] Christian apologist and author Ravi Zacharias has warned America it is suffering from a “deep crisis of the soul” that is “killing us morally” and said the only way out of the “grave” in which the country has buried itself is through Jesus Christ.

Alveda King Challenges Americans: “Vote for America’s Good, Not the Lesser of Two Evils”

Eugene Vigil/Alveda King (Aug 10, 2016)

“Let’s overlook personal personality preferences; vote for the candidate with the greater potential to deliver on the issues most closely aligned with our faith and what is good for America.” -Dr. Alveda King

This Presidential election, many are saying they will vote for the “lesser of two evils.” Won’t it be better to vote for “what’s good for America?” Voting on the issues trumps evil hearts and personalities.

A colleague writes:  “We hear the phrase: ‘lesser of two evils’ a lot … This year, we have witnessed much voting hand-wringing with many people of faith claiming that it is evil to ever vote for ‘the lesser of two evils’, or for any evil at all.

I have concluded that this lesser of two evils phrase is really a canard; a false picture of the electoral choice. Yes, we should never ever vote for evil; only for good.

Robert Spencer in FrontPage: Hillary’s Imam

July 18, 2016 12:38 pm By Robert Spencer

The Daily Caller on Wednesday revealed numerous ties between Hillary Clinton and members of the shadowy network surrounding Fethullah Gulen, the controversial Muslim cleric who has been called “the Turkish Khomeini,” and whom the Erdogan regime is accusing of instigating the coup that nearly toppled it on Friday.

According to the Caller, the Gulen camp has been one of Hillary’s numerous sources of cash, in exchange for which she gave access to the President: “a Gulen follower named Gokhan Ozkok asked Clinton deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin for help in connecting one of his allies to President Obama….Ozkok served as national finance co-chair of the pro-Clinton Ready PAC.

He gave $10,000 to the committee in 2014 and $2,700 to Clinton’s campaign last year.

Slavery: Racially Incorrect Facts; Truths that Obama and BLM revile

July 20, 2016 – Jack Kerwick

As was recently shown, the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, with its central claim that police around the country are hunting and killing innocent black men, is a lie.

Yet the BLM myth is enmeshed within a larger narrative, a narrative of eternal White Racism. And couched within this tale are distortions and outright crucially false ideas of slavery.

In the interest of that “honest discussion” of race that the Eric Holders and Barack Obamas of the world claim to want, I submit considerations without which no such discussion can be had.

One glaringly inconvenient truth that, odds are, few folks of any race are aware is that the very first legal slave owner in America was one Anthony Johnson—a black man.

Trump: “Incitement and preaching of hate by the Palestinian leadership…must end immediately”

July 2, 2016 – By Robert Spencer

After seven and a half years of Obama ignoring “Palestinian” incitement and pressuring Israel to make disastrous concessions to the “Palestinian” jihadis, this is most refreshing.

The “Palestinian” airwaves are filled with genocidal incitement on a constant basis.

Yet few American politicians have ever been willing to point to this as a source of the ongoing violence.

“Trump: PA must act against ‘barbaric’ attacks on Israelis,” Times of Israel, July 2, 2016:

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called Friday for the Palestinian Authority to take action against violence by Palestinian terrorists, shortly after an Israeli man was killed in a shooting attack on his family’s car in the West Bank.
