Meet the Arab Christians who want to fight for Israel

By Robert Tait, Nazareth – 02 Jan 2015

Sitting in front of the family Christmas tree dressed in military fatigues, Amir Shalayan seemed in no doubt about his identity.

“When you go back back in religion, I consider myself a real Jew,” he said, unabashed by the non-Jewish festive decorations in his living room. “Jesus was Jewish and he was observing the Shabbat (Jewish sabbath).”

Mr Shalayan is in fact an Arab Christian, a category he refers to as “Aramean”, but his strong identification with the Jewish faith is offered as explanation for his keen army service. It also accounts for his vocal support of legislation that envisages officially declaring Israel a Jewish state – despite the presence within its borders of around 1.7 million Arabs, including 161,000 Christians, more than 20 per cent of the population.

The bill to designate Israel as “the nation state of the Jewish people” is supported by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and would deny collective national rights to the Arab minority and strip Arabic of its status as one of the country’s official languages.

It’s Urgent That We Stand FIRM With Israel

1/23/2015 Steve Strang or Charisma Magazine

Every once in a while something comes along that is so important it rises above many other things that are clamoring for our attention. Two weeks from now in Colorado, a new organization will be formed uniting Christian ministries who love and support Israel.

It is called the Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries (FIRM). They are holding their Israel Summit from Feb. 4-6 at Resurrection Fellowship Church in Loveland, Colorado.

There are many organizations that support Israel, and most have different functions. Some are more focused on lobbying and working with the Jewish community and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

I believe that it is time for Christian ministries to join together to support Israel, even embracing those believers who come from a Jewish background who are often excluded from participation in other pro-Israel organizations.

You know that I have been a big supporter of Israel. I have donated my time and resources helping to do what I could. Now I am throwing my weight behind Wayne Hilsden, the visionary and founder of FIRM. He is the pastor of King of Kings Community Jerusalem in the heart of the Israeli capital.

As World Turns Its Back on Israel, a Surprising Ally Emerges in India

BreakingIsraelNews ^ | 23rd December 2014 | Lea Speyer

With the EU moving farther away from its traditional support of Israel, it seems as if the Jewish state is finding a new ally in an uncommon place.

According to The Hindu newspaper, India is considering moving away from supporting the Palestinian cause at the UN, Indian government sources said.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is looking to move his foreign policies regarding the Palestinians to a state of abstention, the two sources claimed.

“Like other foreign policy issues, the Modi government is looking at India’s voting record at the United Nations on the Palestinian issue,” one of the sources explained. The second said that only an “administrative nod” would be needed to confirm the new policy.

Salvations & Deliverance as Holy Spirit Fire falls at Australia Day Prayer & Revival meetings with Ps Donnie Swaggart

Dear family & friends in Christ,

What a wonderful weekend it was to see God’s manifest presence at every single meeting and then on Australia Day at the prayer meeting.

Hundreds packed the CTFM auditorium over the weekend to hear the Word of God, with people travelling all the way from Perth, Darwin, Sydney and other places around Australia to soak in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Ps Donnie preached the Word of God with power and authority as many received a mighty touch from Heaven.

All glory to God for several people who gave their hearts to Jesus during the revival meetings, including a media journalist who was present. Many others were baptised in the Holy Spirit and prayed in tongues for the very first time, as some others received deliverance as Ps Daniel laid hands and prayed for them.

At the Australia Day United Prayer Service, Church leaders from Baptist, Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian, Salvation Army, Messianic Jewish, CRC and other Pentecostal denominations led in prayer for Government, Armed Forces & Emergency services, Youth & Families, Business & Marketplace, Israel, Indigenous people etc.

The worship was absolutely awesome, as the Holy Spirit moved most powerfully.

Many were in tears when we sang ‘The Great South Land of the Holy Spirit’.

White Libs and the New Racism

Jewish World Review – By Bernard Goldberg – December 29, 2014

I attended a forum the other night at a liberal synagogue about “the tragic trend of police shootings of unarmed black men.” Let’s set aside that there is no “trend” and that the “unarmed” black men were also resisting arrest, and in the case of Michael Brown was trying to take the gun away from the police officer who felt he had to shoot him in order to save his own life.

I’m pretty sure at least 99 percent of everyone in the room —not counting me and the 3 co-conspirators I dragged along — were committed liberals who were convinced that the biggest problem plaguing black America is white cops who hate black people and shoot them if they so much as look at the cop funny.

No, they didn’t say so in just that way, but that was certainly the gist of what was said that night.

During the opening remarks, we heard from the panelists — a black activist who didn’t want anyone to be called a “criminal,” and opposed prisons on principle; a member of the ACLU who thought that America was “further away from equality” today than in 1965 when he marched from Selma to Montgomery; a cop who said he believed Michael Brown was trying to take away Officer Darren Wilson’s gun only to “humiliate him,” presumably with no intention of shooting the cop; and a judge who for the most part simply explained how grand juries operate, though she tiptoed into liberal terrain too.

There will be bible reading from Psalms 23 & 91 and the Lord’s Prayer.

This National Prayer Day for Australia is a major opportunity for reconciliation and unity as different ethnicities, churches, and denominations, including Anglicans, Catholics, Presbyterians, Protestants, Pentecostals, Charismatics, Evangelicals, Salvation Army and others, come together to corporately pray for our nation’s Government, Armed Forces, Emergency Services, and protection over our country from bush fires & Islamic terrorism.

Ps Daniel stated “As government leaders look for answers as to how to deal with the increasing threat of fundamental Islamism, we as the church need to play a major role in praying and standing shoulder to shoulder with our fellow countrymen to protect our nation. The church must not stay silent, as the silence of the church in history was partly the reason for the success of Nazism, Communism and now Islamism. I call on the church will rise up, pray and act as a united voice to stop the violence and to promote peace.”

Bereaved Israeli and Palestinian parents work together for reconciliation

Monday, December 22, 2014 – by Pat McCarthy – ASSIST News Service

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (ANS) — Although Israeli-Palestinian relations are probably best known for conflict, a group of parents from both sides has spent 20 years working for reconciliation, inspired and united by the common experience of bereavement.

More than 600 families belong to the Parents’ Circle – Families Forum (PCFF) – brought together by the pain they share through losing a close family member in the ongoing conflict.

The grassroots group was initiated in 1995 by Yitzhak Frankental, a Jew, whose firstborn son Arik was abducted and murdered by Hamas militants while he was serving in the Israeli army.

“After Arik was murdered, I understood that I had failed as a father,” he recalled in a newspaper interview. “I had brought a son into the world but he did not live — not because he was sick, but because there was no peace. Because I didn’t do anything to promote peace.”

Mr. Frankental said eyebrows were raised over his conciliatory activity in his religious congregation in Jerusalem, but he never wavered in his religious faith. “My approach to religion,” he said, “is that I worship God, not the other way around. Everything that God does is for the good, even if I do not fully grasp it.”

Arabs and Jews Unite to Proclaim Messiah’s Return

November 26, 2014 – Israel Today  – David Lazarus

A new generation of Arab and Jewish followers of Jesus met together last week to strategize on how to “turn Israel upside down.”

Two hundred and sixty Messianic Jewish and Arab pastors, youth leaders, evangelists, Bible-school teachers and ministry leaders gathered for a three-day council to discuss, study, pray and work together to effectively bring the word of God in power to Arabs and Jews throughout the whole Land of Israel.

These seasoned men and women of faith embody decades of labor proclaiming the Gospel to local Arabs and Jews. Most have given up everything to preach Messiah to their unbelieving Muslim and Jewish families and friends. Despised because of their faith, they have lost jobs, suffered rejection and endured multiple other hardships, yet their passion to bring the Good News to their people remains unquenched.

“We will keep preaching and teaching the Word of God until it changes the people of Israel,” declared one leading pastor. “We must be willing to suffer for the sake of the gospel and keep going no matter what happens. God will accomplish His will through the power of His word.”

BBC refuses to allow Israeli minister to show victims of synagogue jihad attack — had no problem showing Gaza victims

Robert Spencer Nov 18, 2014Jihad Watch

The mainstream media cannot be trusted. It is clearly aligned with malevolent forces. Unfortunately, it still wields disproportionate power and influence.

“BBC to Bennett: We don’t want to see victims of terrorism,” BBC, November 18, 2014:

Interviewer refuses to allow economy minister to show photograph of victims of the terrorist attack at Jerusalem synagogue.

A BBC interviewer refused to allow Economy Minister Naftali Bennett to show a photograph of victims of the terrorist attack in Jerusalem in an interview Tuesday morning.

Bennett appeared on BBC World News after a Palestinian spokesman, who claimed that Jews were murdering Palestinians in Jerusalem.

The Bayit Yehudi leader responded: “The fact is that [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas] himself incites and tells the Arabs ‘take arms and fight the Jews.’”

The danger of saying ISIS is not Islam

September 16, 2014 – Liz Lightstone

So I’ve been thinking about this a lot and posted this morning on twitter about David Cameron’s comment (“they are monsters, not Muslims”). I’m very concerned by growing reprise that “Islamic State” (IS) is not Islam, that they are not Muslims. I can understand where it’s coming from but its a very dangerous form of political correctness. Clearly not all Muslims support IS, nor are all terrorists Muslim. But there is no doubt that IS say they are acting on behalf of Islam, they are Muslims and they want to establish an Islamic Caliphate.

If you detach their monstrous ideology from what we like to think of as Islam, then do you detach from the Muslim community responsibility for denouncing it? I have no problem if moderate Muslims — as some have done (albeit late in the day) — stand up and say that IS does not represent what they believe to be Islam. I similarly say that Naturei Karta, the “ultra-Orthodox” anti Zionist Jews — who by the way simply throw words, not stones, not swords and are nonviolent — do not represent Judaism in any form that I know.  But I want the moderates to stand up and say it.

More importantly, do you, by saying IS is not Islam, they’re not Muslims, detach from the Muslim community at large the responsibility for helping prevent radicalisation which we know full well goes on in certain mosques and on campuses? (It is astonishing how many campuses world wide have HUGE investment from Saudi and Qatar and huge investment in BDS, anti Israel, and radicalisation programmes.)

I am not blaming any particular Muslim community but just as I hung my head in shame when extremist Jews murdered that poor young man in Jerusalem after the death of the three Jewish teenagers, so the Muslim community worldwide must say, not that IS is an Israeli / CIA conspiracy (as Iran currently claiming) but that something is rotten within the Muslim world and it must be stopped.

A Christian Federation in the Middle East

September 15, 2014 by Daniel Greenfield

The Middle East as it exists now has no future. Its borders were drawn by European colonial powers for their own purposes. The political agendas behind those borders are long dead. The kings and coalitions they were meant to protect have vanished.

ISIS is determined to tear apart the borders of the region and it’s not alone. Iraq and Syria are caught in cycles of violence because their national borders are prisons trapping incompatible religious and ethnic populations in multicultural tyrannies. The world has spent a lot of time trying to redraw Israel’s borders when it should have been redrawing the borders of the entire region.

There are only two solutions for ending the violence in Iraq and Syria; tyranny or denationalization.

As long as Sunni and Shiite Arabs and the Kurds are trapped together in a single country they will never be at peace.

All of this is really bad news for Arab Christians because they are a fragile religious minority in a region swiftly redefining itself by religion. The Arab Nationalism that shielded them is dead. That leaves them with few options except to form temporary coalitions with the representatives of older systems, the Baath Party and the Egyptian military, or the minority Shiite Islamists.
