Answers in Genesis Sets Up Religious Freedom, ‘Cross of Christ’ Video Billboard Next to Famous New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in NY Times Square

By Alex Murashko , Christian Post Reporter – December 30, 2014

“I am thrilled that the Cross of Christ will be seen in the most-watched place in the world on this day,” Ken Ham, AiG president, stated in reference to the apologetics ministry’s digital billboad displayed close to the famous ball drop on New Year’s Eve at Times Square, [FILE].

The apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis is hoping that, in addition to millions of people witnessing the famous ball dropping in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, multitudes will also see its video billboard displayed nearby with a cross and reminder to Americans of the “religious freedoms they enjoy.”

“I am thrilled that the Cross of Christ will be seen in the most-watched place in the world on this day,” Ken Ham, AiG president, stated.

AiG officials said that whether people in the U.S. hold to the worldviews of Christianity, atheism, Judaism, and other belief systems, religious freedom must be defended.

The digital video board will air for seven minutes per hour each day, Dec. 30 through Jan. 1, 2015, including during the final minutes of 2014. AiG says about 3 million impressions will be totaled at Times Square over the three days.

Why Online Evangelism Is the Wave of the Future

12/11/2014 Deborah Hamilton – Charisma News

In a world of seemingly ever-present iPhones, iPads and laptops, it’s difficult to go anywhere without seeing people transfixed by their technology devices. Could it be they’re doing more than updating Twitter and Pinterest? One study says yes.

According to the study by the Pew Research Center, one in five Americans shares their faith online, and in a typical week, nearly 50 percent of U.S. adults see someone else share their faith online.

Southern Evangelical Seminary President Dr. Richard Land says that while changing modes of faith-sharing may make some uncomfortable, online evangelism is critical to reaching the unreached and will be central to fulfilling the Great Commission.

“Technology is the future. We can either try to swim against the current, or we can surf the wave,” Land said. “Sharing one’s faith online is perhaps the best way to reach many younger people with the Gospel, and it may be the only way to reach those in foreign nations that have governments and cultures hostile to the Gospel. Like any scientific or technological advancement, the Internet has the potential to be used for either good or evil. When used by Christians dedicated to sharing the life-transforming truth of Holy Scripture, it can be a medium that can reach around virtually the entire globe and change people’s eternal destinies.”

It’s Urgent That We Stand FIRM With Israel

1/23/2015 Steve Strang or Charisma Magazine

Every once in a while something comes along that is so important it rises above many other things that are clamoring for our attention. Two weeks from now in Colorado, a new organization will be formed uniting Christian ministries who love and support Israel.

It is called the Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries (FIRM). They are holding their Israel Summit from Feb. 4-6 at Resurrection Fellowship Church in Loveland, Colorado.

There are many organizations that support Israel, and most have different functions. Some are more focused on lobbying and working with the Jewish community and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

I believe that it is time for Christian ministries to join together to support Israel, even embracing those believers who come from a Jewish background who are often excluded from participation in other pro-Israel organizations.

You know that I have been a big supporter of Israel. I have donated my time and resources helping to do what I could. Now I am throwing my weight behind Wayne Hilsden, the visionary and founder of FIRM. He is the pastor of King of Kings Community Jerusalem in the heart of the Israeli capital.

WATCH: This Muslim’s Story of Converting from Jihad to Jesus Will Blow You Away

It’s a conversion story that matches that of Saul of Tarsus.

Jerry Rassamni was caught in the middle of a religious war in Lebanon, one in which he was fighting against Christianity.

“People were slaughtered because of their religion,” says Jerry Rassamni. “There was so much hatred.”

It was that hatred that fueled him to fight the Jihad—or Muslim Holy War. He says he was addicted to gun powder, had to kill or be killed.

“Christians were abominous, hated, and I really thought they were the devil incarnate,” Rassamni says.

NYC Pastor William Devlin Travels to Iraq, Says the ‘American Church Is Addicted to Personal Peace, Comfort, and Affluence’

Pastor William Devlin of Infinity Bible Church in the Bronx borough of New York City, stands with Pastor Hanna Massad in Gaza in this photo shared Sept. 13, 2014, on Facebook.

A New York City pastor traveling with a U.S. Yazidi leader to offer humanitarian assistance to religious minorities targeted by the Islamic State in Iraq believes Christians in America should do more to encourage believers living in some of the world’s most persecuted countries.

The Rev. William Devlin, co-pastor of Infinity Bible Church in the Bronx borough of New York City and a former politician, is as much of an activist as he is a missionary. When the City of New York banned churches and other religious groups in 2011 from renting public schools for worship gatherings, Devlin embarked on a 42-day fast, was arrested in an act of civil disobedience, and publicly confronted then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg during an interfaith breakfast about the city’s decision (which the current mayor has vowed to reverse).

As of late, the 61-year-old evangelical leader has been focused on reaching out to Christians living in persecuted or difficult countries, such as Sudan, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Syria, Iran, and Cuba. Devlin was featured in The Christian Post this past summer after visiting with Sudanese Christian Meriam Ibrahim who had been imprisoned for alleged apostasy.

Salvations & Deliverance as Holy Spirit Fire falls at Australia Day Prayer & Revival meetings with Ps Donnie Swaggart

Dear family & friends in Christ,

What a wonderful weekend it was to see God’s manifest presence at every single meeting and then on Australia Day at the prayer meeting.

Hundreds packed the CTFM auditorium over the weekend to hear the Word of God, with people travelling all the way from Perth, Darwin, Sydney and other places around Australia to soak in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Ps Donnie preached the Word of God with power and authority as many received a mighty touch from Heaven.

All glory to God for several people who gave their hearts to Jesus during the revival meetings, including a media journalist who was present. Many others were baptised in the Holy Spirit and prayed in tongues for the very first time, as some others received deliverance as Ps Daniel laid hands and prayed for them.

At the Australia Day United Prayer Service, Church leaders from Baptist, Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian, Salvation Army, Messianic Jewish, CRC and other Pentecostal denominations led in prayer for Government, Armed Forces & Emergency services, Youth & Families, Business & Marketplace, Israel, Indigenous people etc.

The worship was absolutely awesome, as the Holy Spirit moved most powerfully.

Many were in tears when we sang ‘The Great South Land of the Holy Spirit’.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN today delivers a blunt message – Brilliant

November 24, 2014 – ttp://embassies.gov.il/un/statements/Pages/Question-of-Palestine-

Mr. President,

I stand before the world as a proud representative of the State of Israel and the Jewish people. I stand tall before you knowing that truth and morality are on my side.  And yet, I stand here knowing that today in this Assembly, truth will be turned on its head and morality cast aside.

The fact of the matter is that when members of the international community speak about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,  a fog descends to cloud all logic and moral clarity.  The result isn’t realpolitik, its surrealpolitik.

The world’s unrelenting focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an injustice to tens of millions of victims of tyranny and terrorism in the Middle East.  As we speak, Yazidis, Bahai, Kurds, Christians and Muslims are being executed and expelled by radical extremists at a rate of 1,000 people per month.

How many resolutions did you pass last week to address this crisis?  And how many special sessions did you call for? The answer is zero.  What does this say about international concern for human life?  Not much, but it speaks volumes about the hypocrisy of the international community.

I stand before you to speak the truth.  Of the 300 million Arabs in the Middle East and North Africa, less than half a percent are truly free – and they are all citizens of Israel.

Special dance presentation from 25 Indonesian Australians from Sydney and many other special cultural items.

There will be bible reading from Psalms 23 & 91 and the Lord’s Prayer.

This National Prayer Day for Australia is a major opportunity for reconciliation and unity as different ethnicities, churches, and denominations, including Anglicans, Catholics, Presbyterians, Protestants, Pentecostals, Charismatics, Evangelicals, Salvation Army and others, come together to corporately pray for our nation’s Government, Armed Forces, Emergency Services, and protection over our country from bush fires & Islamic terrorism.

Ps Daniel stated “As government leaders look for answers as to how to deal with the increasing threat of fundamental Islamism, we as the church need to play a major role in praying and standing shoulder to shoulder with our fellow countrymen to protect our nation. The church must not stay silent, as the silence of the church in history was partly the reason for the success of Nazism, Communism and now Islamism. I call on the church will rise up, pray and act as a united voice to stop the violence and to promote peace.”

Bereaved Israeli and Palestinian parents work together for reconciliation

Monday, December 22, 2014 – by Pat McCarthy – ASSIST News Service

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (ANS) — Although Israeli-Palestinian relations are probably best known for conflict, a group of parents from both sides has spent 20 years working for reconciliation, inspired and united by the common experience of bereavement.

More than 600 families belong to the Parents’ Circle – Families Forum (PCFF) – brought together by the pain they share through losing a close family member in the ongoing conflict.

The grassroots group was initiated in 1995 by Yitzhak Frankental, a Jew, whose firstborn son Arik was abducted and murdered by Hamas militants while he was serving in the Israeli army.

“After Arik was murdered, I understood that I had failed as a father,” he recalled in a newspaper interview. “I had brought a son into the world but he did not live — not because he was sick, but because there was no peace. Because I didn’t do anything to promote peace.”

Mr. Frankental said eyebrows were raised over his conciliatory activity in his religious congregation in Jerusalem, but he never wavered in his religious faith. “My approach to religion,” he said, “is that I worship God, not the other way around. Everything that God does is for the good, even if I do not fully grasp it.”

Amid Hindu Faithful, Baptist Pastors Proclaim ‘Jesus Died for All of Us’

January 02, 2015Baptist Press – Rolan Way

A group of Southern Baptist pastors squeezed their way into a small area with crowds of Hindu faithful to watch the ritual slaughter of goats at the Kali temple in Kolkata, India. Those with cameras were swatted with batons by temple security guards adamant the group not capture images of the beheadings.

That scene, combined with earlier scenes of idol worship and ritualistic cleansing in other South Asian cities, was a clear reminder of why these pastors — which included Fred Luter, who was Southern Baptist Convention president at the time — had journeyed there. The Old Testament was played out right in front of them, real and tangible, even brutal. But they had come to tell South Asians that the fulfillment of the Gospel in Jesus changed everything — for all.

“We as believers, we understand that the sacrifice of the perfect Lamb of God — [our] Lord Jesus Christ dying on the cross — is the best and is the only one sacrifice that has been done in history,” said Humberto Gonzalez, minister of First Euless en Español, a Spanish-speaking ministry of First Baptist Church in Euless, Texas. “So we don’t have to kill more animals. Jesus died for all of us.”

Christians In Egypt Find Healing by Forgiving Those Who Persecute Them

Baptist Press – William Bagsby – September 21, 2014

A year after more than 85 churches and Christian institutions across Egypt were destroyed and burned, and three years after the country’s longest serving president stepped down in the wake of nationwide protests, Christian workers there are finding an openness rarely experienced before.

Some workers noted that forgiveness — along with persistence in sharing the Gospel — shown by local Christians toward Muslims has played a large role in the change.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down after 18 days of nationwide demonstrations during what is now called the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. Since then Egypt has gone through various protests, elections, presidents and the quake of upheaval.

In August last year more than 85 churches and Christian institutions were attacked and burned as a result of demonstrations across Egypt calling for an Islamic state.

Franklin Graham Takes Hard Stand Against This Muslim Prayer

11/18/2014 Mark Andrews – Charisma News

Franklin Graham, who is widely respected as the heir-apparent to his father, iconic evangelist Billy Graham, isn’t shy about speaking out for God’s truth. So when he saw Christians compromise their principles to reach out to false religions in the name of ecumenicalism, it was no surprise that it drew a harsh response.

Graham this week slammed the National Cathedral in Washington for allowing Muslims to hold their first prayer service there last Friday.

“It’s sad to see a church open its doors to the worship of anything other than the One True God of the Bible who sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins,” said Graham, head of the Samaritan’s Purse humanitarian aid ministry.

The younger Graham took to Facebook and spoke to the news media to register his extreme displeasure that a Christian cathedral—long a Washington landmark—would willingly be handed over to Muslims by the Cathedral’s Episcopalian leadership.
