Pakistani court denies bail to Gujrat Christians accused of blasphemy

CLAAS Press Release – 3 August 2015

Gujranwala’s Anti-terrorist court has denied bail to all Christians’ bail but granted it to Muslim Zulfiqar who printed the posters.

On 1st September CLAAS lawyers Tahir Bashir appeared in the Anti-terrorist court of Gujranwala for the confirmation of bail, but the Judge, Bushra Zaman, rejected all of Christians’ bail but granted it  bail to Muslim man Zulfiqar, who printed the posters in question.

These posters are said to have offended some local Muslims by using the word Rasool (Apostle) for late Pastor Fazal Masih, the founder of the Biblical Church of God.

They took this matter to the police, civil lines, where a case was registered against 14 people, including one Muslim, Zulfiqar.

Syrian Christians Wed in Bombed-Out Church

Women of Grace ^ | July 31, 2015

More than 2,000 locals who were driven out of their hometown of Homs, Syria, returned on July 12 to witness a moment of sweet triumph as a young couple married inside the wreckage of their beloved church.

The Daily Mail is reporting on the bitter sweet story of Fadi and Rana, 28, two refugees of the years-long Syrian civil war, who met in a refugee camp. Fadi, a university graduate who was working at a pharmaceutical factory in the city before he was forced to flee, fell in love with Rana while they were both working for the U.N. Refugee Agency.

When they decided to marry, the two wanted the ceremony to be where they had always dreamed it would be – inside their hometown church, St. George’s, an Orthodox church in the Christian Hamidiyah section of Homs.

Unfortunately, when the couple returned to their old neighborhood, they found the church and almost every other building, reduced to rubble. Almost nothing was left of the beautiful St. George church except the old stone walls. Everything else, the roof, the ornate interior, the pews, were all gone.

All countries in the region can only conclude that America is indeed weak – America has capitulated to Iran

July 29, 2015 – By Robert Spencer

Indeed. Dark days ahead. “Six Strikes against the Nuclear Deal with Iran,” by Prof. Efraim Inbar, The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, July 15, 2015:

There are (at least) six significant and immediate bad results from the agreement reached yesterday between the Western powers and Iran.

*America the weak: The way in which the negotiations were conducted underscored the weakness of the US. The Obama administration was willing to offer almost unlimited concessions to the skillful Iranian negotiators, ignoring all its own deadlines and red lines. It is clear that President Obama was desperate for a deal in order to leave office with a ”legacy.”

While Washington congratulates itself on a “successful” result, what counts is the perceptions of the countries in the region. Alas, all countries in the region can only conclude that America is indeed weak. America has capitulated to Iran.

*Nuclear legitimacy: Instead of insisting on the dismantling of all uranium enrichment facilities in Iran, as was accomplished in Libya, the US actually accorded international legitimacy to a large-scale Iranian 2. nuclear infrastructure, including thousands of centrifuges. The deal leaves almost intact all central components of the Iranian nuclear program.

Salman Rushdie: world learned “wrong lessons” from his Iran fatwa

July 23, 2015 – By Robert Spencer

“The writer said that the controversy that surrounded the PEN prize to Charlie Hebdo this year convinced him that, if the attacks against ‘The Satanic Verses’ had occurred today, ‘these people would not come to my defence and would use the same arguments against me by accusing me of insulting an ethnic and cultural minority.’”

Indeed so. That was what happened after our free speech event in Garland, Texas: the international media, including many “conservatives” such as Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham, excoriated Pamela Geller and declared that she should have shown more “respect” — which really meant that she should have submitted in fear, as they were doing.

The freedom of speech is seriously imperiled, and most Americans have bought into the idea that “hate speech,” which they assume to be an entity that can be objectively established, does not deserve protection. They have no idea that they’re thereby paving the way for authoritarianism and totalitarianism.

“Salman Rushdie says the world learned the ‘wrong lessons’ from his Iran fatwa ordeal,” Agence France-Presse, July 22, 2015: More than a quarter century after being slapped with a fatwa fromIran [sic] calling for his murder over his book “The Satanic Verses”, Salman Rushdie says the world has learned the “wrong lessons” about freedom of expression.

How Turkey Fights the Islamic State

by Burak Bekdil – July 27, 2015

  • “Turkey says it fights IS. Maybe it does. But just randomly and reluctantly.” — EU ambassador, Ankara.
  • Meanwhile, Turkey keeps on telling the world how it fights the Islamic State terrorists in Syria. Even more ridiculous than this claim is that some people apparently buy the Turkish fairy tales. In April, US Secretary of State John Kerry underlined that Turkey was an essential partner of the US in the fight against IS, and praised Turkey’s contributions.
  • So it is natural that the Turks think they can always fool their allies: they help jihadist terrorists and in return get pats on the shoulder.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (the Islamic State, or IS) has been the number one target for the world’s democratic nations, since it captured large swaths of land in Syria and Iraq last summer and declared caliphate under sharia law in the lands it controls. The United States and its allies have been waging a war against IS at a distance. So is NATO ally Turkey, at least theoretically, and not at a distance.

In reality, things are a bit different. Especially since the beginning of this year, several press reports in local and international media outlets told chilling stories about how jihadists move freely and recruit fighters in some of Turkey’s biggest cities. “It is no secret that Turkey has become a fertile ground for jihadist activity. Turkey says it fights IS. Maybe it does. But just randomly and reluctantly,” said one EU ambassador in Ankara.

The Mahdi: Islam’s Awaited Messiah

Among the Major Signs, the most anticipated and central sign that Muslims are awaiting is the coming of a man known as, “The Mahdi.”  In Arabic, al-Mahdi means, “The Guided One” 1 He is also sometimes referred to by Shi’a Muslims as Sahib Al-Zaman or  Al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar which translated mean “The Lord of the Age” and “The Guided/Awaited One.”  The Mahdi is the first of the Major Signs.  This is confirmed by Ibn Kathir, the renowned Muslim scholar from the eighth century:

After the lesser signs of the Hour appear and increase, mankind will have reached a stage of great suffering.  Then the awaited Mahdi will appear; He is the first of the greater clear, signs of the Hour.2

The coming of the Mahdi is the central crowning element of all Islamic end-time narratives.  So central to Islamic eschatological expectations is the coming of the Mahdi, that some Muslim scholars do not even refer to “the Minor Signs” as such, but instead, refer to them as, “The signs accompanying the Mahdi”. 3 While there are some variations of belief between the Sunni and Shia’ sects of Islam and while certain quarters of Sunnis reject him altogether, general belief in the Mahdi is not a sectarian issue within Islam, but is universal among most Muslims.  According to Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of America:

The coming of the Mahdi is established doctrine for both Sunni and Shi’a Muslims, and indeed for all humanity 4

2) Top URGENT. Please call the Fiona Stanley Hospital (08 6152 4013) and the Perth Children’s Hospital (1800 303 303) to state your protest against the ‘Muslim only prayer room’.

Following are some questions you can ask them.

Why a Muslim only prayer room, while all the others have to use the interfaith prayer room? Where did you get the funding from?

Isn’t this discrimination against all other faiths? Who gave the approval for this prayer room? What is their response to your complaint?

Please be very nice to them, but also be very firm. Don’t let them get away giving you any excuses. This is very important.

3) We praise and thank God for His wonderful hand at work over the last weekend in Perth (WA), as Ps Daniel and his team from Melbourne spoke and ministered at 5 meetings on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Many people attended the meetings and were greatly blessed.

On Friday night the RUAP meeting was addressed by National President Daniel Nalliah and WA State President Anthony Hardwick.

Several unchurched people came to the meeting and stated, “we never knew that there are such passionate Christians who love Australia and have the guts to stand up for what they believe in.”

In the plane, at the airport, in the shopping centres, people were so very open to hear the message and some commented, “if we don’t stand up now, it will be too late”.

Nigerian Native Christians Standing Firm against Boko Haram; Some Terror Members are Coming to Jesus

News Staff : Jul 6, 2015 : Christian Aid Mission

“In the midst of what is happening, we still thank God, because we are still alive; we are still working. If the Church is in hiding, who will know the Church? There must be missionaries who are so desperate for soul-winning that they’re ready to die.”

(Nigeria)—Far from allowing the Islamic extremist violence of Boko Haram to drive them out, native Christian workers in Nigeria’s northeast have expanded their church-planting ministry to meet the needs of displaced people. Their courage has contributed to several members of Boko Haram repenting and putting their faith in Christ.

Boko Haram rebels continue to lash out after losing ground to government forces earlier this year. Nigeria’s multinational military force, including troops and mercenaries from Chad and Cameroon, took back large swathes of territory in northeast Nigeria that Boko Haram had seized in its six-year crusade to impose sharia (Islamic law) throughout Nigeria. Despite the losses, Boko Haram has continued its campaign of terror, reportedly killing at least 2,700 people since the beginning of the year and some 300 in June alone.

‘Religion of peace’ is not a harmless platitude

17 January 2015 – Douglas Murray– The Spectator

The West’s movement towards the truth is remarkably slow. We drag ourselves towards it painfully, inch by inch, after each bloody Islamist assault.

In France, Britain, Germany, America and nearly every other country in the world it remains government policy to say that any and all attacks carried out in the name of Mohammed have ‘nothing to do with Islam’. It was said by George W. Bush after 9/11, Tony Blair after 7/7 and Tony Abbott after the Sydney attack last month. It is what David Cameron said after two British extremists cut off the head of Drummer Lee Rigby in London, when ‘Jihadi John’ cut off the head of aid worker Alan Henning in the ‘Islamic State’ and when Islamic extremists attacked a Kenyan mall, separated the Muslims from the Christians and shot the latter in the head. And, of course, it is what President François Hollande said after the massacre of journalists and Jews in Paris last week.

All these leaders are wrong. In private, they and their senior advisers often concede that they are telling a lie. The most sympathetic explanation is that they are telling a ‘noble lie’, provoked by a fear that we — the general public — are a lynch mob in waiting. ‘Noble’ or not, this lie is a mistake. First, because the general public do not rely on politicians for their information and can perfectly well read articles and books about Islam for themselves. Secondly, because the lie helps no one understand the threat we face. Thirdly, because it takes any heat off Muslims to deal with the bad traditions in their own religion. And fourthly, because unless mainstream politicians address these matters then one day perhaps the public will overtake their politicians to a truly alarming extent.

Prepare for Muslim extremism as we prepared for WW2 says former defence chief

By Hannah Furness, Ben Farmer and Matthew Holehouse – 23 June 2015

Britain must stop “sleepwalking” and prepare to tackle Muslim extremism as seriously as it planned for the Second World War, a former head of the Armed Forces has warned.

Lord Richards of Herstmonceux said extremism poses a “real threat” to the world and condemned dithering politicians too reluctant to lead the way.

Warning that Islamic State militants would wreak a “hell of a lot of damage” in the coming years, he argued the Armed Forces risk being left “on the back foot” by leaders who fail to plan properly.

“I think the problem is that we have not seen that we need to approach this issue of Muslim extremism as we might approach World War Two back in the 30s,” the former Chief of the Defence Staff said.

“This is a real threat to us and we’re sleepwalking in the way we’re approaching it.”

Pakistan’s government won’t abolish blasphemy law because it “fears the reaction of extremists”

June 25, 2015 By Robert Spencer – Jihad Watch

All over the world, the principle is being reinforced: terrorism works. To get what you want, threaten violence, and the “free world” will jump to comply with your wishes.

And Archbishop Coutts’ brother bishops in the U.S. are pursuing an illusory and self-defeating “dialogue” even to the extent of silencing those voices that speak honestly about the root causes of the Muslim persecution of Christians. They are heading the Church in the West off a cliff, and will bear the responsibility for that.

“Pakistan’s ‘fear of extremists’ prevents abolition of blasphemy law,” by Felipe Avillez and Abigail Frymann Rouch, The Tablet, June 24, 2015:

The Government of Pakistan might be willing to abolish the country’s draconian blasphemy law, if it were not for the fact that it “fears the reaction of extremists”, the President of the Pakistani Bishops’ Conference said.
