ASSEMBLIES OF GOD CHURCH PRESSURED TO CLOSE SERVICES IN TEHRAN

The leaders of the Central Assemblies of God Church in Tehran, have announced that Friday worship services will no longer take place and only two Sunday services will be conducted in future. The Church has been conducting 2 worship services each Friday afternoon in what represented the largest formal public gathering of Iranian Christians inside Iran, It has been under extreme pressure from the Ministry of Information to shut down its Friday meetings. The decision to close the Friday services was made in the best interest of the membership of the church.

Here’s a way to understand Mr Rudd’s Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.

Imagine 1 kilometre of atmosphere that we want to rid of human carbon pollution.  We’ll have a walk along it.  The first 770 metres are Nitrogen.  The next 210 metres are Oxygen.  That’s 980 metres of the 1 kilometre.  20 metres to go.  The next 10 metres are water vapour.  10 metres left.  9 metres are argon.  Just 1 more metre.  A few gases make up the first bit of that last metre.  The last 38 centimetres of the kilometre – that’s carbon dioxide.  A bit over one foot.  97% of that is produced by Mother Nature.  It’s natural.   Out of our journey of one kilometre, there are just 12 millimetres left.  About half an inch.  Just over a centimetre.  That’s the amount of carbon dioxide that global human activity puts into the atmosphere.  And of those 12 millimetres Australia puts in .18 of a millimetre.  Less than the thickness of a hair.  Out of a kilometre.

As a hair is to a kilometre – so is Australia’s contribution to what Mr Rudd calls Carbon Pollution.  (more…)

Abbott and another Costello – Abbott’s high calling

A WEEK ago, when Tony Abbott determined to run for the opposition leadership, he did what he has always done at a critical juncture in his life: he rang Emmet Costello.

A “somewhat retired” 85-year-old Jesuit priest, Costello was formerly the chaplain at St Ignatius College Riverview, on Sydney’s north shore, where Abbott was schooled.

And for the past 35 years he has remained Abbott’s mentor and closest confidant; a man he credits as “the most important male influence on my life” apart from his father.

“Tony rang and said, I’m going for it; I’m going for the leadership, and could you remember me in your prayers,” Costello told The Australian yesterday.

“I said, don’t worry about that, I’ll storm Heaven for you. God can’t say no to me!”

Ahmadinejad: Obama Must Choose Iran or Israel

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said President Barack Obama must choose between Israel and Iran. The comment was made Tuesday in Istanbul during an economic address before the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference.

“The support of both Israel and Iran can’t go hand in hand. No change is made unless great choices are made,” said Ahmadinejad. “We will clasp any hand that is extended sincerely toward us, but changes should be made in practice.”

During a briefing at the Middle East Institute in Washington, Undersecretary of State William Burns responded to the remarks: “We seek a relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran based upon mutual interest and mutual respect. We do not seek regime change. We have condemned terrorist attacks against Iran.

MALCOLM Turnbull is gone and all but buried. In a stunning revolt, the Liberals grassroots are reclaiming a party hijacked by a leader of the Left.

Turnbull’s leadership was finally shot dead by frontbencher Tony Abbott and the Liberals’ Senator leader, Nick Minchin.

Both told Turnbull he had to reconsider the decision that he (falsely) claimed the party took on Wednesday – to back Rudd’s colossal emissions tax to “stop” global warming.

When Turnbull refused, Abbott quit. Minchin will, too, rather than vote for a tax he knows is a fraud.

That triggered a mass resignation of other frontbenchers, enraged not only by Turnbull’s deceit, but determined to overturn his decision as well.

Scientology targets young kids

THE NSW Government has warned principals about a Church of Scientology attempt to infiltrate primary schools with propaganda videos and booklets aimed at Year 6 students.

The Sunday Telegraph has learned an organisation called Youth for Human Rights, which is sponsored by the controversial group, sent an educational DVD about human rights to schools last month.

Titled Youth for Human Rights – 30 Rights, 30 Ads, it is a series of public service announcements concerning each article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

But the misleading cover letter does not acknowledge the relationship between the organisation and the church.

The sole indicator that the DVD is linked to the Church of Scientology is an L. Ron Hubbard quotation printed on the back of the DVD cover that reads: “Human rights must be made a fact, not an idealistic dream – L. Ron Hubbard.”

One of the world’s leading climate change research centres has been accused of manipulating data on global warming after thousands of private emails and documents were leaked.

Hackers targeted the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit and published the files, including some personal messages, on the internet.

Among the most damaging is one which appears to suggest using a ‘trick’ to massage years of temperature data to ‘hide the decline’.

The CRU, which plays a leading role in compiling UN reports and tracks long-termchanges in temperature, has repeatedly refused to provide detailed information about the data underlying the temperature records.

It is thought that this could have triggered the theft. Climate change sceptics claim that some of the leaked messages discuss ways of manipulating data that fails to comply with the establishment view that climate change is real and is being driven by man.

Update on ‘climate change’ legislation – ACT NOW!

E-News from Salt Shakers

Following our recent email on the current ‘climate change’ situation, the Rudd government’s emissions trading legislation has been passed by the federal parliament’s House of Representatives.

The Bill(s) now go to the Senate, where the numbers will be very tight.

A vote is expected next week. At least ten Coalition Senators are actively opposed to the emissions trading scheme and want the Coalition to oppose it – whilst the Leader of the Opposition Malcolm Turnbull is still negotiating with the government for some ‘changes’.

Praise God for Free Speech Victory

Dear Friends and Supporters

We are writing with wonderful news of deliverance from the pernicious attempt by the Government last night (11th November) to remove Lord Waddington’s free speech shield from the face of the laws of this land.
 
In a remarkable debate the House of Lords stood firm against the Government’s fourth attempt to impose its will upon them. Thanks to their steadfastness the vital democratic right to free speech was upheld, the police will have clarity about cases they do not need to investigate and ordinary, peaceful Christians and others who wish to be free to express orthodox Christian views on sexual ethics will not have their freedom so to do unreasonably interfered with.

Lord Monckton Trashes Al Gore’s Global Warming Nonsense

Lord Christopher Monckton (pictured above), former UN Ambassador John Bolton, and Glenn Beck examined Al Gore’s shoddy global warming science and hypocrisy, along with the dangers of the Copenhagen climate treaty on Beck’s Friday TV show.

Monckton said the treaty would lead to global government. The powers provided in the pact are “enormous,” he said. “They are greater than any government has now.”

Lord Monckton challenged Al Gore to debate him on the science of global warming. Addressing Gore, Monckton said, “and if you don’t dare, I want you to remain silent about that subject forever from now on.”

Of course Gore won’t accept the challenge. Others have asked Gore to debate the science of global warming and he’s consistently refused to do so.

He has much to lose — financially and otherwise.

In the wake of the terrorist strike on our soldiers at Fort Hood, one individual’s still missing in action: Our commander in chief. The massacre’s 51 casualties, including 13 dead, were insufficient to drag President Obama away from the White House Happy Hour.

We just saw the worst terror attack on America since 9/11. And Obama couldn’t adjust his schedule to support our grieving troops.

Instead, we got his subtle defense of the perp: Unwilling to use the word “terror,” let alone the phrase “Islamist terror,” Obama warned us not to “rush to judgment.”
 
A Muslim fanatic, known to the FBI as a fan of suicide bombers and to colleagues as an opponent of our government, coolly buys weapons, heads to a military facilityhe knows will be packed with unsuspecting soldiers, waits for the crowd to thicken, then shouts, “Allah is great!” and guns down 51 patriots, calmly reloading among the dead and dying.
