UK Sharia courts “main aim” to “restrict & deny rights” of women & children

June 15, 2015 By Robert Spencer

What a surprise. “Britain must ban sharia ‘kangaroo courts’, say activists,” by Emma Batha, Reuters, June 15, 2015:

LONDON, June 15 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) – Britain’s new government must abolish Islamic sharia courts, campaigners said on Monday, describing them as “kangaroo courts” that deliver second-rate justice and trample over the rights of women and children.

They called for the government to stick to pre-election promises to hold an inquiry into sharia courts which first appeared in Britain in the mid-1980s.

“Over the years, we have witnessed with increasing alarm the influence of ‘Sharia courts’ over the lives of citizens of Muslim heritage,” nearly 200 women’s rights and secular campaigners said in a statement.

“Though the ‘Sharia courts’ have been touted as people’s right to religion, they are in fact, effective tools of the far-right Islamist movement whose main aim is to restrict and deny rights, particularly those of women and children.”

American Jews: The Last Leftist Jews in the World

The Jewish Press ^ | May 20th, 2015 | Daniel

Clip on a nametag, pick up a paper cup of lukewarm water and you can sit down in the audience at a thousand liberal Jewish establishment panels where the likes of Peter Beinart or Jeffrey Goldberg will sanctimoniously lecture their bored audience on the growing gap between American Jews and Israel.

Yawn through the usual references to “settlements”, “democratic character” and “one state solution.” Wake up just in time for the sales pitch for J Street and tough love BDS for the Jewish State.

And then go out and get some fresh air.

The gap isn’t between Israeli and American Jews; it’s between American Jews and the rest of the world.

Losing their religion: the hidden crisis of faith among Britain’s young Muslims

Sunday 17 May 2015- Andrew Anthony

As debate rages over the radicalisation of young British Muslims, are we overlooking a different crisis of faith? Ex-Muslims who dare to speak out are often cut off by their families and fear for their lives. A brave few tell us their stories.

Sulaiman Vali is a softly spoken 32-year-old computer engineer. A natural introvert not drawn to controversy or given to making bold statements, he’s the kind of person who is happiest in the background. He lives alone in a modest house on a quiet street in a small town in East Northamptonshire. He doesn’t want to be any more specific than that about the location. “If someone found out where I lived,” he explains, “they could burn my house down.”

Why should such an understated figure, someone who describes himself as a “nobody”, speak as if he’s in a witness protection programme? The answer is that six years ago he decided to declare that he no longer accepted the fundamental tenets of Islam. He stopped being a believing Muslim and became instead an apostate. It sounds quaintly anachronistic, but it’s not a term to be lightly adopted.

A Free Online Resource Connects People to the Message of Jesus

3/23/2015 Steve Strang

Imagine nearly everyone in the world holding a “gospel tract” that they check several times a day.

That’s what technology provides for believers who want to share their faith. With most of the modern world referring to their mobile devices, there’s an app that tells about Jesus in a fresh, winsome way—often using the testimonies of celebrities.

It’s a website and an app called “yesHeis,” the brainchild of a wealthy British businessman with a heart for ministry.

Lord Robert Edmiston has done charitable work since the late 1980s through an amazing ministry called Christian Vision, now called CV. To spread the gospel, CV utilizes many means, including shortwave radio, which was especially effective for many years in areas that have little to no religious freedom like that in Muslim-dominated countries.

I first heard about this at an international networking meeting of business and ministry leaders. I was so impressed that I downloaded the free app and later interviewed Lord Edmiston about it.

New content is posted daily on yesHEis.com. It’s easy to find videos from celebrities like Bono who give a very clear Christian witness. Material is arranged by topic for people who have a particular interest or who is grappling with a big problem.

From Monnica to Susanna Wesley: Remembering Great Mothers In Church History

May 09, 2015 – Baptist Press – David Roach

Augustine of Hippo is known by Christians the world over for standing against heresy in the fifth century and laying a foundation for the Protestant Reformation a thousand years later.

Lesser known is the fact that Augustine might never have become a Christian if not for his mother Monnica, who prayed for his salvation for years before eventually sailing from North Africa to Italy to beg her son to attend church. He honored her wishes and was saved when he heard the Gospel under the preaching of Ambrose of Milan.

Monnica — as her name is spelled on her tomb despite commonly being rendered as “Monica” — is one of many noteworthy mothers in church history.

“Some of Christian history’s greatest preachers, theologians and missionaries owe the first fruits of their ministries not to their exegetical insights, homiletic abilities or spiritual zeal, but instead to the faithful prayers of their godly mothers,” Christian George, assistant professor of historical theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, told Baptist Press in written comments. “In the lives of countless Christians throughout the ages, God has often granted second births as a result of those who gave them their first.”

UKIP vows to defend Britain’s Christians in new election platform

Hilary White – May 5, 2015

LONDON, May 5, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In sight of this month’s general election, the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) has issued a manifesto of its adherence to Christian values, saying that there must be a more “robust” defence of Christianity. The party’s leader, Nigel Farage, stated that the political class in Britain has lost sight of the nation’s Christian roots.

“We will uphold robustly the rights of Christians, as well as those of other faiths, to worship as they wish and to espouse their beliefs openly, within the limits of the common law,” the party said in its “Christian manifesto,” thus far, the only such document produced by any British political party.

UKIP says the party is “proud of Britain’s Judaeo-Christian heritage,” which it says “underpins our culture, our legal code and our system of governance.”

“We will stand up for it because we believe it is as integral, relevant and important a part of life in Britain today as it has ever been.”

“Sadly, I think UKIP is the only major political party left in Britain that still cherishes our Judaeo-Christian heritage. I believe other parties have deliberately marginalised our nation’s faith, whereas we take Christian values and traditions into consideration when making policy,” Farage said.

Polygamy a go for UK’s Green Party

Michael F. Haverluck   (OneNewsNow.com) Saturday, May 09, 2015

The radical pro-homosexual activist leader of the United Kingdom’s Green Party announced that she is “open” to legalizing “marriages” between three or more people on the island nation.

A staunch supporter of LGBT rights, Australian-born Natalie Bennett made her position on the issue of polygamist marriage loud and clear when answering a question asked by the pro-homosexual Pink News.

“As someone living with his two boyfriends in a stable long-term relationship, I would like to know what your stance is on polyamory rights,” a Pink News reader inquired of Bennett. “Is there room for Green support on group civil partnerships or marriages?”

Why not?

Even though Bennett’s Green Party does not have an official stance on the issue, she insists that she and her earth-friendly adherents would be more than open-eared when discussing the legalization of polygamy in the U.K.

The ghastly shadow of Munich

By Victor Davis Hanson – Jewish World Review – April 2, 2015

The Western capitulation to Adolf Hitler in the 1938 Munich Agreement is cited as classic appeasement that destroyed Czechoslovakia, backfired on France and Britain, and led to World War II.

All of that is true.

But there was much more that caused the Munich debacle than simple Western naiveté. The full tragedy of that ill-fated agreement should warn us on the eve of the Obama’s administration’s gullible agreement with Iran on nuclear proliferation.

Fable one is the idea that most people saw right through the Munich folly. True, Europeans knew that Hitler had never once told the truth and was already murdering German citizens who were Jews, communists or homosexuals. But Europeans did not care all that much.

Instead, the Western world was ecstatic over the agreement. After the carnage of World War I, Europeans would do anything to avoid even a small confrontation — even if such appeasement all but ensured a far greater bloodbath than the one that began in 1914.

‘Britain’s white jihadi’ a teen from Australia – report

2015-03-09- News 24

Sydney – A westerner pictured alongside Islamic State group fighters and dubbed “Britain’s white jihadi” is in fact an Australian teenager who converted to Islam, a report said on Monday.

A photo of the meek-looking youth, holding a rifle and sitting in between two jihadists with a black ISIS flag in the background, emerged on Twitter in late December.

At the time the militant group, which has run rampant through swathes of Iraq and Syria, hailed his recruitment as “a major coup” with the British media dubbing him “Britain’s white jihadi”.

Doubts about the authenticity of the picture subsequently emerged after a blogger claimed he had fabricated the image to hoax the British press.

But Australia’s Fairfax Media said the photograph had now been positively identified by friends of the teenager and members of two mosques in Melbourne.

Female TV Host Takes Radical Islamist To School After He Says One Of The Most Sexist Things Possible

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOlpK6Yj5a4

Independent Journal Review ^ | 03/08/2015 | Justen Charters

When female TV host Rima Karaki interviewed radical Islamist Hani al-Sibai on the Lebanese Al-Jadeed news channel this week, Karaki showed him that she wasn’t intimidated by his rude remarks.

During their interview, al-Sibai was asked to share his thoughts about the Christians that have joined militias to fight ISIS.

Instead of sticking to the subject, al-Sibai went off on a tangent. Considering the limited time frame al-Sibai had as a guest on the show, Karaki requested that he stopped ranting and ‘focus on the present.’

Such a suggestion from a woman infuriated the radical Islamist. The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) translated the exchange:

“I will not answer the way you like, because I’m here to serve the idea in which I believe.”

Extremists are setting up anti-British schools, report claims

By , Education Editor – The Telegraph -12 Apr 2015

Nearly 50 unregulated schools set up by extremists are being investigated for being anti-British, it has been claimed.

Education authorities are looking into allegations that these schools impart teachings that go against British values.

Many of these schools were set up by a teacher embroiled in the Trojan Horse scandal that saw radical Muslims infiltrating school governing bodies in Birmingham, it was alleged.

Based around the UK – including Luton, Birmingham, and London, these schools manage to scape prying eyes by operating outside the traditional education system, it was claimed.

Many of the students have been pulled out of the mainstream education system, which is overseen by the schools’ watchdog, Ofsted, and the Department for Education (DfE), and are being home schooled without proper regulation or oversight.

Empowering jihad: The deadly myth of a ‘root cause’

Reports that “Jihadi John,” the British-accented narrator of ISIS snuff videos, is Mohammed Emwazi — an educated young man from a middle-class background — ought to put the final stake in the pretense that poverty and a lack of education and opportunity fuel Islamist hate.

This mistaken idea seems to be Obama administration policy. Marie Harf, the US Department of State deputy spokesperson, recently said:

“We cannot win this war by killing [jihadists]. We need to go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups, whether it is lack of opportunity for jobs. . . We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance. We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people.”

Of course, the news about “Jihadi John” is only the latest evidence to the contrary. These terrorists are often well-educated and even wealthy. Osama bin Laden certainly was.

Many Islamist terrorists are physicians: Maj. Nidal Hasan (the Fort Hood shooter) and al Qaeda’s current leader, Ayman Al-Zawahiri.

“Lady Al Qaeda” Aafia Siddiqui (the terrorist whom ISIS wanted to trade for James Foley, then for Steven Sotloff) was a scientist.

UK now arresting jihad terror suspects every day; police call for extra funding to cope with Islamic State threat

UK now arresting jihad terror suspects every day; police call for extra funding to cope with Islamic State threatFebruary 9, 2015 – by Robert Spencer

As the situation inexorably spirals out of control in Britain, British officials still appear resolutely determined not to investigate the question of why this view of Islam that they think is a drastic misunderstanding of the Religion of Peace has grown so widespread.

“Terror suspects arrested every day in UK as police call for extra funding to cope with Isil threat,” by Tom Whitehead, the Telegraph, February 8, 2015 (thanks to Block Ness):

Police are now arresting a suspected terrorist every day with ministers poised to boost funding amid fears of attacks from Isil “misfits and criminals”.

Metropolitan assistant commissioner Mark Rowley revealed fanatics were being detained on a daily basis following a sharp rise in arrests because of the growing threat from Islamist jihadists.

Mr Rowley, the country’s most senior counter-terrorism officer, said he had been lobbying Government for additional funding to tackle the threat and there were “indications” that would happen.
