Is Obama winning the Muslim world?

Barack ObamaPosted: August 12, 2010 Larry Elder, World Net Daily

“It’s conceivable,” said then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008, “that there are those in the Arab world who say to themselves, ‘This is a guy who spent some time in the Muslim world, has a middle name of Hussein, and appears more worldly and has called for talks with people, and so he’s not going to be engaging in the same sort of cowboy diplomacy as George Bush.'”

A 2008 Zogby International poll surveyed those in the “friendly” Arab countries of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Eighty-three percent viewed the United States “somewhat” or “very” unfavorably.

Enter President Barack Hussein Obama, a man with a keen and learned understanding of the Arab world – a man who promised to restore our image through outreach based on mutual respect and understanding. Bush, Obama believed, governed with a swagger and aggressiveness that alienated friends and hardened the hearts of enemies. To forge a “new beginning” and find “common ground,” Obama apologized for America’s “mistakes.”

US Funded MosqueState Department lists 29 projects under ‘cultural preservation’

Posted: August 30, 2010 By Aaron Klein © 2010 WorldNetDaily

The State Department is funding the construction of mosques around the world as part of the U.S. government’s outreach programs to Muslims.

Six million dollars in taxpayer funds will be used this year to restore dozens of Islamic cultural sites and mosques around the world as part of State’s Ambassador Fund for Cultural Preservation.

The State Department website documents some 29 of those projects, including:

Funds for the preservation and restoration in Afghanistan of the 17th century Mullah Mahmud Mosque, which the site calls a “rare surviving example of late Mughal vernacular architecture”

Funds to support the restoration of the Kurshum Mosque in Silistra, Bulgaria

Funds to support the restoration of the bazaar area at the entrance of the Wazir Khan Mosque in Pakistan

Evangelists Say Muslims Coming to Christ at Historic Rate

Muslim MosqueFriday, 20 August 2010 Sarah Stegall News – Featured News

Christians ministering quietly in the Middle East say Muslims are coming to Christ at an unprecedented pace despite intense persecution of those who leave Islam.

“Probably in the last 10 years, more Muslims have come to faith in Christ than in the last 15 centuries of Islam,” said Tom Doyle, Middle East-Central Asia director for e3 Partners, a Texas-based missions agency.

A former pastor, Doyle has been to the Middle East around 80 times and last week returned to the U.S. from a trip to Jerusalem, where he said both Muslims and Jews are turning to Christianity.

Earlier this month, more than 200 former Muslims were baptized during a training conference in Europe led by Iran-born evangelist Lazarus Yeghnazar. Brenda Ajamian, a former missionary to the Middle East who partners with Yeghnazar’s 222 Ministries International, said the event was unlike anything she’d seen during her years ministering in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.

“That many Muslims who converted to Christ in one place boggled my mind because missionaries have worked in the Arab world and Muslim world generally for years and without much fruit,” Ajamian said. “God is at work among Muslims.”

DOES JESUS RESPECT ISLAM?

By Coach Dave Daubenmire September 16, 2010 NewsWithViews.com

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:5-6

I have watched with a great deal of curiosity the feeding frenzy created by the White House regarding the burning of the Quran by a pastor in Florida. I am always leery of where it is the media is trying to take me.

First of all, they want us to know that Pastor Terry Jones shepherds a “small congregation” in Gainesville, Florida, as if behavior is validated by the number of followers that one has. Evidently Joel Osteen’s version of the Gospel is better than Pastor Jones’ because he has such a large following. I’m sure that Pastor Osteen would never do such a “hateful” thing.

Germany’s Surrender

IslamicIt is another dismal capitulation on Europe’s sad road to dhimmitude.

The police union for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) stunned Germans this week when it announced it would bring policemen from Turkey to help patrol the turbulent streets of some immigrant neighbourhoods in NRW cities. With this announcement, the state’s police administration is admitting domestic police forces can no longer handle violent Turkish and other youths of immigrant backgrounds inhabiting these quarters.

“It can’t go on like this any longer,” said the union’s chairman, Erich Rettinghaus, in the German national newspaper, Die Welt. “Perhaps it is a good measure. One should try it out. The new NRW Interior Minister is from Duisburg and knows the problems.” According to Die Welt, the Turkish police would patrol the immigrant Turkish areas in their own uniforms together with German policemen.

Obama’s Ramadan Blessing

By Joseph Farah, World Net Daily, 14th August 2010

That’s what I call pretending.

In blessing the Muslim holiday of Ramadan, Barack Obama added that Islam “is a faith known for great diversity and racial equality” and that it “has always been part of America.”

I have more than a passing knowledge of Islam that includes firsthand experience and a significant amount of study over the last 30 years. But somehow I must have missed the advancements of justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.

Honestly, I can think of none.

Did I overlook a reformation in the religion that has resulted in one genocide after another for the last 1,300 years? Racial equality? Has the Quran been rewritten to excise Muhammad’s characterizations of blacks as “ugly,” “raisin heads” and “pug-nosed slaves”?

Didn’t it also say in that book that when Allah created the white man, he touched his right shoulder and he came out destined for paradise, but when he touched the left shoulder of the black man, he came out destined for hell?

Nigerian President Solicits Prayers from Christians

Dr Goodluck Nigerian PresidentSaturday, July 31, 2010 ASSIST News Service (ANS)

By Success Kanayo Uchime

ABUJA, NIGERIA (ANS) — Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has called on Nigerian religious leaders “not to relent” in “praying for the peace of the country.”

The President stated this during a Prayer Breakfast organized by the Aso Villa Chapel in the State House, Abuja, the nation’s capital, on Saturday, July 31, 2010.

He acknowledged that the collective prayers, offered by men and women of God, is what has been keeping the country, adding that more prayers are needed to make the country perform better.

He went on to say that “the way out of the challenges facing the country” was through a “trust in God,” and he enjoined religious organizations to pray to God to guide Nigerian leaders “to lead the nation properly.”

Referring to the scriptures where the children of Israel experienced calamity as a result of their deviation from God, the President said that it is a “dangerous thing to turn away from God,” pledging that he will continue to trust in God to direct him as he leads this West African country.

“No matter the wisdom, skills and ability I have, I cannot succeed except with God,” he remarked.

Greece Experiences Massive Bible Outreach

Sparta Ruinsby Nico Bougas : Aug 5, 2010 : ASSIST News

“This is a country that has never had a reformation or a revival. It has never held any mass evangelistic campaigns. So in the context of Greece’s history, to spread 60,000 copies of God’s Word in one week can only be described as momentous and even seismic. We can imagine contemporary Spartans echoing the words of their Grecian predecessors, ‘These that have turned the world upside down have come here also.'” (Acts 17.6)

(Sparta, Greece)—The name conjures up visions of fearless soldiers charging into battle without thought of life or limb. The bravery and courage of ancient Spartans is legendary. The word spartan has even crept into the English language to describe the conditions that are at the opposite extreme from comfortable and luxurious.

The Mosque at Ground Zero

anti mosque protestorsFriday, 06 Aug 2010

By Chuck Colson Christian Post Guest Columnist

Earlier this week, the proposed New York City mosque at ground zero cleared its final hurdle. Nothing seems to stand in the way of its construction.

I am appalled that peace-loving Muslims would want to do this on what is, for most Americans, hallowed ground. I am even more appalled that the mayor of New York is in favor of the idea.

It would be like the Japanese building a Shinto shrine at Pearl Harbor! At a speech in front of the statue of liberty, Mayor Bloomberg made the case for the mosque on the grounds of tolerance. But tolerance isn’t the issue here. And certainly not tolerance as Bloomberg means it. Tolerance used to mean listening respectfully to others’ opinions, even when you disagree. Tolerance as Bloomberg understands it, means “I won’t say no to you for anything you want, and you don’t say no to me for anything I want.”-The ultimate expression of political correctness, and the most certain formula for moral chaos.

A Nation Forgiven – Canada

forgiven Summitby Teresa Neumann : Jul 20, 2010 : David Carson – Canadian Christianity

“Canada is a healed nation, more healed today than before because of what we were able to sign this morning. Mr. Prime Minister, we forgive you!”

(Ottawa, Canada)—On April 12 of this year, we shared a report from Canadian Christianity entitled, In Prophetic Act, Former First Nations’ Chief on Canadian Cross-Country Tour Urging Tribes to Forgive. Now we can report that from June 11-13 the Journey of Freedom team led by Chief Kenny Blacksmith finally reached Ottawa for the “National Forgiven Summit.”

As reported in Canadian Christianity, thousands gathered at the Civic Centre where a coalition of First Nations, Métis & Inuit responded with forgiveness to Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s apology made in 2008 in which he “sincerely apologized to the aboriginal peoples and asked for their forgiveness for the federal government’s role in the residential schools system.”

According to the report, Chief Elijah Harper shared a vision he had that “the First Nations would be recognized in Canada as full equal partners—and for them to live abundantly in their own country.

Christian Center to Open Near Proposed Ground Zero Mosque

Bill KellerTuesday, 13 July 2010  Adrienne S. Gaines News – Featured News

A Florida evangelist is responding to efforts to build a multimillion-dollar mosque two blocks from Ground Zero with plans to open a religious center of his own.

Bill Keller, host of the evangelistic website Liveprayer.com, said his 9/11 Christian Center near Ground Zero will begin holding Sunday prayer meetings Sept. 5. The services will be held at a hotel in downtown New York until Jan. 1, when the center moves a permanent site. The facility will be open daily and will house a prayer chapel. Local ministers also will lead regular outreach ministry.

“I was in prayer and God said, ‘Listen, if the Muslims can build a temple to their false god at Ground Zero, why can’t there be a place dedicated to the true God of the Bible on that same area?'” said Keller, whose website claims 2.4 million subscribers. “Rather than a [protest] event we’re going to have an ongoing work of God right there because the Bible says you combat the darkness with the light.”

Jesus lives on in Jerusalem

Messianic Jews19.08.10 Jewish World

Thousands of Messianic Jews reside in Israel, perform Jewish ceremonies and serve in IDF Yoaz Hendel.

Some 15,000 Messianic Jews currently live in Israel, but if you saw one on the street you would almost certainly fail to recognize any difference. They honor Jewish circumcision, bar-mitzvah, and wedding ceremonies, but believe Jesus is the messiah.

The small community of Yad Hashmona, near Jerusalem, is home to a number of Messianic-Jewish families. They believe in Jesus – or Yeshua, as they call him – and in the teachings of the New Testament as well as the old. They are Jews in every sense, but for the most part keep this side of their faith to themselves. When these families gather for the Shabbat meal, however, Jesus is the guest star at their table.
 The Second Coming?

Many Americans expect Jesus’ return by 2050 / Associated Press

Around 350,000 Messianic Jews live in the US, and one would be just as hard-pressed to recognize them there as in Israel. Some are Orthodox, and dress as the haredim do, while others are traditional and wear a yarmulke or no religious symbol at all. They are for the most part Zionists, and see IDF service as a top priority. In the army they serve as pilots, commanders, and elite unit members, but usually make sure to keep their messianic beliefs under wraps.

Every Month in Europe Many Iranians Are Becoming Christians and Are Being Baptized

HANOVER, GERMANY (ANS) — The Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN) — www.fcnn.com — is reporting that many Iranians who have fled to Europe to escape the persecution of their homeland, have become Christians.

According to reports received by FCNN, a reliable German news agency, DW, in a recent report, disclosed the 40 Iranians who reside in Germany have recently converted and been baptized as Christians in the city of Hanover.

“These baptismal ceremonies were conducted in both Farsi and German,” said the story.

The report also adds that every month tens of Iranians refugees and residents in Germany officially convert to Christianity, “but,” it continued, “this incident in Hanover is the first of its kind where a large group have together converted and been baptized as Christians.”

Haiti Update: God is Opening Doors Like Never Before

MAF aeroplaneHaitiby Aimee Herd: Jul 13, 2010

News Staff – Mission Network News

“The Lord has opened a door of opportunity spiritually, where tens of thousands of voodooists in Haiti are asking huge questions about their beliefs. So the opportunity for the Gospel to be preached and taught is unprecedented in Haiti.”

Despite the fact that six months after the devastating earthquake rocked the impoverished nation of Haiti, last January, most of the rubble and piles of destroyed buildings still remain, there have been unprecedented changes in the spiritual atmosphere.

According to a report in Mission Network News from the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) team, there has opened a remarkable open door for the Gospel to be shared and received—even among those who had previously been directly opposed to it.

MAF president John Boyd notes that as his ministry reaches out physically with that “cup of cold water,” the prospects of communicating the Good News of Jesus are “phenomenal.”

“The Lord has opened a door of opportunity spiritually, where tens of thousands of voodooists in Haiti are asking huge questions about their beliefs. So the opportunity for the Gospel to be preached and taught is unprecedented in Haiti.”

Ex-Muslim on Faith, Women’s Rights, Obama

Sabatina JamesTue, May. 04 2010 By Michelle A. Vu Christian Post Reporter

Sabatina James spoke to The Christian Post last week using a temporary cell phone that she had to discard afterward. The bestselling author of My Fight for Faith and Freedom and the founder of the relief organization, Sabatina EV, spoke candidly about her Christian faith, her passion for women’s rights and how she thinks President Obama is handling relations with Islamic countries.

The following are excerpts from the interview.

CP: How old are you?

James: I’m 27 now.

CP: You talk a lot in your book about Islam’s view of women and how Muslim men treat women based on the teachings of the Quran. So is it true what critics of Islam say – that the religion teaches that you can beat your wife, women have no value, and martyrs are promised to go to heaven where virgins await them?

James: Yes, well the Quran says in the fourth Surah (chapter) in verse 34 that if your wife is not obedient you are allowed to beat her. That is what the Quran says, you know. In Islamic countries, like Pakistan, Afghanistan, there is sharia law. And sharia law takes the Quran and that is how they judge. They take verses from the Quran and say it is written in the Quran that is why the women has to be obedient and if she is not you are allowed to beat her. That is the way it is.

Sabatina EV is my organization and there are a lot of Muslim women who come to us. We have girls who were married when they were 13 years old. In Hamburg, for example, there is one, a girl who is from Afghanistan who was married when she was 13 years old. But people do not talk about it because if you say something that is critical about Islam people would immediately say you are racist. And what they do not understand is that this is not about racism but about human rights. If you are living in a democracy you have to protect the human rights and it does not matter if your religion says you are allowed to beat your wife.

When I was a small child it was my wish to die for Allah one day – you asked about the suicide bombers. I didn’t know what to expect in heaven but I was sure this is the only way to get to heaven because there is no guarantee for Muslims to know whether Allah will forgive him his sins or not. But if you die for Allah then you are guaranteed that you and your family will go to heaven; that is what you are taught in the Quran schools. And I was ten years old when I read the Quran and my grandfather, who just died, was a mullah and I learned the Quran from him in Arabic. For me it was normal.

When I was ten years old I went to Austria and I definitely didn’t want to die then. But still I have that desire in my heart that one day Allah will give me the strength to do something like that; that I will kill some non-Muslims and go to heaven. Something quite normal.

CP: So even if a child doesn’t go to a radical Quran school but just living in society a child has these suicide bomber thoughts?
