The Cordoba Mosque in New York – “A Symbol of the Islamic Conquest of Christian Lands”

By Jacob Thomas

On 18 May, 2010, the Arabic-language online daily Elaph posted an article by an Arab Muslim, in which he decried “The Cordoba Mosque” building project being planned for construction in the vicinity of Ground Zero, in New York City.

Set forth below are excerpts from his article, and from two other articles on this same subject.  My analysis and comments will follow.

The project by Muslims to build a mosque in the United States, close to the place where the 9/11 attack took place, is causing quite a stir. It is worth noting that the name chosen for the mosque is confrontational and provocative. The first Cordoba mosque was built in that Spanish city in the aftermath of the Muslim conquest of Christian Spain. This Islamic “Conquista” was followed by the killings of men, and the enslavement of women, many of whom were carried away to the Arab lands to work as servants and concubines for their Muslim masters.  For both Arabs and Muslims, the history of their conquests remains as a symbol of their past glory, and power. They have no thoughts of remorse or shame, when they recall those heinous crimes that accompanied the colonization of Spain!

Obama’s faith: Christianity or Islam?

Barack ObamaJune 23, 2010 By Pieder Beeli

By his eponymous father and by his Indonesian rearing – where both his school records and the predominant culture was Islamic – Barack Obama has an Islamic heritage.

Yet Obama has publicly professed himself to be a Christian. How do the opposing forces of Islam and Christianity play out in Obama’s mind?

Often we can tell the truth about what someone believes by performing an inferential or forensic analysis. We analyze what is implied rather than what is explicitly stated. This is especially helpful for the case of Obama for whom there are over 150 documented lies.

In light of the Islamic sanction of taqiyya, this sort of analysis could be especially valuable. Taqiyya has its origins in the prophet of Islam who allowed one of his followers to lie in order to kill someone who mocked the prophet.

Central tenet of the faith

When speaking of the origins of Islam, why does Obama use the word “revealed”? In his Cairo speech, Obama said, “I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed”  One does not expect a Christian to suggest that God revealed Islam to Muhammad for the simple reason that if God did such, then Christianity is wrong.

What would the world look like under Shariah law? Find out in Nonie Darwish’s “Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law”

Why would not Obama instead choose to say, “when Islam was invented” or “fabricated – or at least use the more equipoise “when Islam began…”?

I find this especially telling in that I have not been able to find Obama use the term “revealed” to speak of God’s doings in a Judeo-Christian context. For example, I have not heard Obama affirm the central Christian tenet, “The love of God was revealed to us on the cross of Jesus Christ.”

‘I went into prison a terrorist and came out an evangelist’: Former Ulster fighter abandons life of violence after finding God

article-1293033-0a5ce605000005dc-283_468x665By Liz Hull on 9th July 2010

As a member of the Ulster Volunteer Force, David Hamilton’s life was peppered with violence and murder.

He was repeatedly shot, orchestrated bombings and bank robberies, and brought terror to the streets of Northern Ireland.

But after spending years in jail, the 56-year-old has turned his back on his old life and committed himself to peace as a pastor in England.

New beginning: Former loyalist terrorist David Hamilton has abandoned his life of bombs, guns and armed robbery to become a pastor.

Mr Hamilton yesterday revealed he ‘found God’ while serving an 11-year sentence in the notorious Maze prison and currently presides over a 200-strong congregation at the Heaton Chapel Christian Fellowship near Stockport.

FAITH UNDER FIRE

Tom McMillinBy Bob Unruh July 07, 2010 © 2010 WorldNetDaily

The Attorney general has been asked to investigate arrests of Christians – State representative says in his speech, religious rights ‘can’t be just pushed aside’

A lawmaker in Michigan is calling on the state attorney general to investigate the arrests of four Christians at a recent Arab festival in the city of Dearborn, saying they were just “engaging festival goers in conversation about religion on public property.”

The call comes from state Rep. Tom McMillin, who has introduced a resolution to that effect.

His concern is over the arrests of four people during the Arab Festival in Dearborn, where police have been accused of enforcing Islamic law.

Indonesian Muslims Call for Halt to ‘Christianization’

MosqueBy Compass Direct News Sarah Page  – Sat 3 July 2010

Muslim organizations in Bekasi, West Java, on Sunday (June 27) declared their intention to establish paramilitary units in local mosques and a “mission center” to oppose “ongoing attempts to convert people to Christianity,” according to the national Antara news agency.

“If the Muslims in the city can unite, there will be no more story about us being openly insulted by other religions,” Ahmad Salimin Dani, head of the Bekasi Islamic Missionary Council, announced at the gathering. “The center will ensure that Christians do not act out of order.”

Observing an increasing number of house churches, Muslim organizations have accused Bekasi Christians of aggressive proselytizing. The Rev. Simon Timorason of the West Java Christian Communication Forum (FKKB), however, told Compass that most Christians in the area do not proselytize and meet only in small home fellowships due to the lack of officially recognized worship venues.

Many Christian seminary graduates prefer to remain on Java rather than relocate to distant islands, Timorason added, making West Java the ideal place to launch new home-based fellowships for different denominations. But neighbors see only the multiplication of churches, he said, and therefore suspect Muslims are converting to the Christian faith.

“The ideal solution is to have one building with a permit to be used by different denominations in each housing complex,” Timorason said. “If every denomination wants their own church in the same area, it’s a problem.”

Kanti Prajogo, chairman of the Congress committee, had hoped to present a written declaration of intent to city officials at the mosque gathering, but officials did not respond to his invitation, according to The Jakarta Post.

Around 200 people attended the June 20 Congress, representing local organizations such as the Bekasi Interfaith Dialogue Forum, the Bekasi Movement Against Apostasy, the local chapters of Muhammadiyah and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) – two of Indonesia’s largest Muslim organizations – and the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), well known for its aggressive opposition to Christians and other non-Muslim groups. Good News! Mosab Yousef Can Stay in America

Mosab Yousefby Dan Wooding : Jun 30, 2010 :

Judge agrees to grant him asylum after governement drops its objection to him staying

UPDATE by Dan Wooding: (San Diego)—Mosab Hassan Yousef, author of the best-selling, “Son of Hamas” has won the right to stay in the Unites States after a huge campaign by both Christians and Jews had called for him to be granted U.S. asylum.

With his friends in court to support him, Yousef got the news during a 15-minute deportation hearing Wednesday (June 30, 2010,) in San Diego, California, after a U.S. Department of Homeland Security attorney said the government was dropping its objections.

Yousef is the eldest son of Hamas founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef, and became a Christian some time back after being given a Gospel tract in Jerusalem by a London taxi driver who was on vacation in the Holy Land.

After his conversion, he later became a spy for Israel’s Shin Bet agency and their leadership had praised his courage.

The battle to keep Yousef in American began when the DHS denied his asylum request in February 2009, claiming that he had been involved in terrorism and was a threat to the United States. (more…)

Mohammed (A Former Muslim) now preaching Jesus at CTFM this Sunday

Dear family & friends in Christ,

Mohammed a former Muslim from Pakistan, now a mighty Christian man of God, will be preaching at the CTFM base in Hallam at the 9.30am service. This man of God was once a very prominent and radical Muslim leader in Pakistan who hated the Christians and Jews, but today he absolutely loves everyone with the love of Jesus!

He was born into a very strict and radical Muslim family in Pakistan.  His father was one of the leading Islamic clerics in the country. When his Muslim parents found out that their son had become a Christian, they wanted to kill him, but most amazingly God protected him.

This dear brother in Christ has served with the Pakistan Air Force for many years. Once he was born-again he began to share his Christian faith with everyone he met, including his Muslim mates in the Air Force. When the Air Force found out that he had become a Christian he was sentenced to jail. After 4 months he was miraculously released from prison.

US FalconsURGENT, URGENT, URGENT

Posted: Wednesday, June 30, 2010
by JERRY GOLDEN, The Golden Report

There is a very large naval force that has come together in the Persian Gulf and surrounding Iran.  The USS Carrier Harry Truman has pulled into the area loaded for bear.  Israel and the US have grouped bombers and fighter jets in many countries in the Middle East, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan and others.  Over the past week USS warship have went through the Suez Cannel, as have Israel subs all capable of launching a Nuclear Attack.  And if Iran has already obtained or developed a nuclear warhead this thing will certainly go nuclear bringing the world into a global war.  In fact, if Iran goes to the nuclear option Israel will have no choice but to take out Syria, Hezbollah (now all of Lebanon) and the Hamas in Gaza, and also Egypt if it tries a sneak attack, in short order or face terrible civilian causalities.

While most people are concerned and closely watching the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and justly so, all hell is about to break lose around the world if Iran is attacked.  Another decoy or if you will smoke screen is the change of command in Afghanistan that has also found 24/7 coverage in the media news.  To put it bluntly, folks we are in deep trouble and if you haven’t made your peace with the Prince of Peace Yeshua you are in even worse trouble, if you haven’t prepared and stored some water and food, made some arrangements for your family all I can say is shame on you.  If you are Jewish and you haven’t bought that air plane ticket to Israel, shame on you as well.

We always hope and pray that once again this is just the kid shouting wolf, wolf but I am afraid the wolf is here, and all that fire power now gathered in the Persian Gulf is far greater than anything we have ever seen in the past, this is just plain serious and explosive.  It is very obvious that Iran cannot be threatened or bluffed, and sanctions have no effect, leaving only the military option, so here we go.

‘Burqa ban’ (face-covering) bill in NSW parliament

Islamic women wearing Burqa (face-covering)

by Salt Shakers

Last month, Rev Fred Nile of the Christian Democratic Party tried to introduce a private member’s bill into the NSW Legislative Council that would ban the wearing of face-coverings that conceal identity. This has become known as the ‘burqa bill’ as it would prohibit the wearing of the full face-covering burqa and niqab.
He couldn’t get permission to explain the Bill – the Council voted against allowing a debate.

However, he has since been granted permission to introduce and explain the Bill. This explanation was supported by most of the MLCs – with the exception of the four Greens and family First MP Gordon Moyes (see article at bottom of report).

His media release says that, in his speech on 22 June, “Amidst angry protests, Rev Nile gave a detailed speech addressing accusations of racism and religious discrimination, stating the bill had nothing to do with race or religion.”

Read Fred’s media release –
http://www.cdp.org.au/media-release/78-people-power-forces-introduction-of-burqa-bill.html

In his speech, which is included in the media release, he said “The purpose of the Summary Offences Amendment (Full-face Coverings Prohibition Bill 2010) is relatively straightforward. It is based on the Belgium bill. This bill is to prohibit the concealing of a personal identity whilst in public without a reasonable excuse to do so. As I have already stated, nowhere does the bill mention “burqa” or “Muslim”. While this legislation has become known as the burqa bill, the scope of the bill is much broader than just that one item of clothing.” (more…)

Babies know the difference between good and evil at six months, study reveals

By Teresa Neumann Breaking Christian News
per David Derbyshire Daily Mail 10th May 2010

“You can see glimmers of moral thought, moral judgment and moral feeling even in the first year of life.
Some sense of good and evil seems to be bred in the bones.”  In a stunning scientific report, researchers are admitting that by six months of age babies have a moral code and can tell between good and evil, effectively challenging the “blank slate” theory of human morality so long espoused by science.
Calling the series of experiments “astonishing,” the Daily Mail reports that psychologists now suggest the understanding of what is right and wrong may be “hardwired” into the brain at birth after all.

But, according to psychologists, they have already developed a sense of moral code – and can tell the difference between good and evil.

An astonishing series of experiments is challenging the views of many psychologists and social scientists that human beings are born as ‘blank slates’ – and that our morality is shaped by our parents and experiences.

Leading research: Professor Paul Bloom, of Yale University, said a series of morality tales featuring puppets were shown to babies of varying ages

Professor Paul Bloom, a psychologist at Yale University in Connecticut, whose department has studied morality in babies for years, said: ‘A growing body of evidence suggests that humans do have a rudimentary moral sense from the very start of life.

‘With the help of well designed experiments, you can see glimmers of moral thought, moral judgment and moral feeling even in the first year of life.

‘Some sense of good and evil seems to be bred in the bones.’ (more…)
