Pakistan: Bill banning child marriage fails after it’s deemed un-Islamic

January 16, 2016 – Robert Spencer

Islamic apologists in the West argue furiously that child marriage has nothing to do with Islam, and that the idea that Muhammad married a child is the invention of greasy Islamophobes. In reality, few things are more abundantly attested in Islamic law than the permissibility of child marriage. Islamic tradition records that Muhammad’s favorite wife, Aisha, was six when Muhammad wedded her and nine when he consummated the marriage:

“The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death)” (Bukhari 7.62.88).

Another tradition has Aisha herself recount the scene:

The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became Allright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, “Best wishes and Allah’s Blessing and a good luck.” Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah”s Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age. (Bukhari 5.58.234).

On Pakistan’s Death Row, Awaiting Her Final Hearing, Asia Bibi Sends a Message of Forgiveness for Her Persecutors

Jeremy Reynalds : Dec 29, 2015 : ASSIST News

“Christmas is a celebration of God’s mercy. I forgive my persecutors, those who have made false accusations against me, and I await their forgiveness.”

A story by Paolo Affatato for La Stampa, an Italian newspaper published in Turin, reported that this was the seventh Christmas she spent behind bars, in the women’s prison in Multan. That’s a town in the province of Punjab, where Asia awaits the outcome of a re-examination of her blasphemy conviction.

Pakistan’s Supreme Court, the third and final stage in the trial, has accepted Asia’s petition to appeal against her death sentence. The wait is now on for a hearing date to be set so that her final verdict can be issued.

For this 50-year-old mother of five, Christmas in the Year of Mercy, is a celebration of forgiveness.

American Woman Raised by Lesbians Campaigns in Australia in FAVOR of Traditional Marriage

Teresa Neumann : Aug 18, 2015 : Australian Broadcasting Corporation

“What is government’s interest in marriage? It’s really not about affirming the connections that we have with one another. It has to do with the product of those unions and there’s something distinct about the product of a union between heterosexuals. What’s distinct is that they make babies and those babies have rights and those babies deserve protection.” -Katy Faust

(Australia) – As Australia is being pressured into voting to legalize gay marriage, proponents of traditional marriage are lending their support to the nation. One is Katy Faust, an American woman who was raised by lesbians and wants the world to know that children have a “right” to a father. (Video shot via ABC Australia)

Recently, Tony Jones, of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation interviewed Faust. The following are excerpts from that interview:

TONY JONES: How is it that the daughter of lesbian mothers has become a leading opponent of gay marriage? How does that work?

KATY FAUST: Simply because I recognized that while my mother was a fantastic mother and most of what I do well as a mother myself I do because that’s how she parented me, she can’t be a father. Her partner, an incredible woman – both of these women have my heart – cannot be a father either. Children have a right to be in relationship with their mother and father whenever possible, and as a society, we shouldn’t normalize a family structure that requires children to lose one or both parents to be in that household. Soccer superstar Ronaldo survived mom’s illegal abortion attempt

LISBON, Portugal, November 12, 2015 (LifeSiteNews)

Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese soccer is alive today only because the law at his conception prohibited a legal abortion, and he survived in utero an illegal, but ineffective folkloric alternative abortion method.

Ronaldo’s origins have come under focus recently because of a just-released documentary film, Ronaldo, and a recent book.

The film is structured around Ronaldo’s intense desire to win the league’s best player award—the Ballon d’Or—over soccer rival Lionel Messi.

But The London Telegraph observes, “At the edge of the frame is an insightful and rather sad portrait of addiction, loneliness and a yearning to fill a hole that can never be filled.” The Telegraph says that need is to please a father who was first absent because of alcoholism and then because of an early, drink-induced death.

MPs may be given free vote on late-term abortion Bill

Following is a recent post from RUAP facebook, including a Herald Sun article titled, ‘MPs may be given free vote on late-term abortion Bill’.

Benjamin Franklin once said that, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”

In Victoria, that statement applies to many who DON’T even get to celebrate their first BIRTHDAY!

From the Herald Sun, “MPs may be given free vote on late-term abortion Bill. It is understood Liberal and Labor MPs are likely to be given a free vote on the issue when DLP MP Rachel Carling-Jenkins introduces a Private Member’s Bill later this year.

Sources from multiple parties in the Upper House have told the Herald Sun a vote on the Bill, which would stop women who are more than 20 weeks’ pregnant from legally having an abortion, would be close”.

Recent birthday boy, Daniel Nalliah, backs Rachel Carling-Jenkins to the hilt. In fact, it’s a done deal.

ESPN’s Smith: All Lives DO Matter

7.21.2015 – News – Mark Tapson

ESPN commentor Stephen A. Smith slammed the Black Lives Matter movement on Twitter and his show Tuesday, as Politistick reports.

Smith, a man who has never been afraid to go against the grain of the black Democrat narrative, was commenting upon the controversy about Martin O’Malley being shouted down by Black Lives Matter protesters who were outraged that the Democrat presidential candidate asserted that “all lives matter.” That wasn’t an acceptable stance to the protesters.

Smith expressed his irritation on Twitter, calling out the Black Lives Matter movement for their hypocritical silence regarding black-on-black crimes in Democrat Party-controlled cities:

On The Stephen A. Smith Show, he began, “Let me preface my comments by saying I am fully aware of the fact that no one white can say what I’m about to say. But damn it, I’m going to say it!”

Democrat presidential candidate Martin O’Malley apologized on Saturday. Ladies and gentlemen, guess why he apologized? Because during a discussion in front of an abundance of African-Americans, he said ‘all lives matter’ as opposed to ‘black lives matter.’

The Godly Role of a Mother and Grandmother

Written by Lillian Penner – 28th July 2015

“I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” (2 Timothy 1:5)

If Timothy’s grandmother Lois had not been faithful in passing on her faith to her daughter Eunice and her grandson Timothy we probably would not have First and Second Timothy in the Bible today. This is a good generational example of the importance of passing on the faith to future generations. Lois is our forerunner who modeled grandmothering for us.

Isn’t it interesting that nowhere in the Bible does it say that the church has the primary responsibility to pass on our faith to the next generation? It makes clear that parents and grandparents are the principal conduit to instruct their children about God and His love for them.

Mother and Grandmother’s role

Many grandparents are greatly concerned that their children are not passing on the values and faith by which they were raised. Parents and grandparents have a crucial role to fill, if faith is to be found on earth when Jesus comes back for His own. According to God’s word, God wants parents and grandparents to focus on passing on a godly legacy to the next generations. The demonstrations of our faithful walk with the Lord and our prayers for our children are powerful ways to pass on our faith to the next generation.

Franklin Graham Warns ‘Arrogantly Disregarding God’s Authority Has Serious Consequences’ in Response to SCOTUS Ruling on Same-Sex Marriage

By Leah Marieann Klett – Jul 01, 2015

Leading Evangelist Franklin Graham has warned the United States that “arrogantly disregarding God’s authority always has serious consequences” following last Friday’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling, which legalized same-sex marriage throughout the United States.

Graham, the president of both the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, shared his prayerful thoughts several days after the high court ruled 5-4 in favor of legalizing the practice across all 50 states.

“‘Pride goeth before a fall.’ Supreme Court Justice Scalia used Proverbs 16:18 in his comments regarding the court’s disappointing and dangerous ruling about same-sex marriage. He rightly called the decision ‘a threat to the American democracy.’ This is so true. Arrogantly disregarding God’s authority always has serious consequences. Our nation will not like what’s at the end of this rainbow,” Graham wrote in a Facebook post.
