Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I was aware of the intention of ALP leader Bill Shorten to introduce his same-sex-marriage private member’s bill into the Federal House of Representatives yesterday, Monday 1 June. Over the last weekend I spent much time in rest and sleeping around the clock to recover from a very busy month of May. Yesterday, Monday, I had much to catch up on, and took no notice of what was going on in Canberra.
This morning I set out to go to our local post office for my mail, and then to the local supermarket to get a copy of The Australian to see what happened in parliament yesterday. At the post office I received a text on my mobile phone from one of our intercessors, which read:
Prayer for Australia re proposed homosexual bill: “Dear Heavenly Father, May this Bill be shortened. And the long arm of Your Law be extended over this nation. In the Almighty name of Jesus we pray…Thank You Lord! Your arm is NOT too short, no, not at all! Is there anything too hard or too Wonderful for You? No, not a thing! It is Your delight to rescue nations and You are Almighty to save. Blessed be the name of the Lord, Yeshua HaMashiach, now and forevermore, in this “Great South Land of the Holy Spirit”- called and set apart by Your own mouth and hand. We stand on the Truth and Power of Your Word, which is Your promised inheritance to us, your righteous children. Thank You Lord! Hallelujah and Amen.”
I then went and bought a copy of The Australian. Attached to this email is a scanned copy of the front-page photograph of Leader of the ALP and Opposition, Bill Shorten, introducing his bill.
