Dear Friends and Family in Christ,
Possibly you would be aware that over the past weekend the newspapers across the nation have reported several alarming statements by Prime Minister elect Kevin Rudd (who professes Christianity as his personal faith) regarding ‘God and Politics’. Many Christian leaders across Australia have promoted Kevin Rudd as an alternative Christian candidate to former PM John Howard. Unfortunately (or fortunately), within a week of being elected as Australia’s new Prime Minister, Mr. Rudd is making it very clear where he truly stands now. Following is the beginning of the article ‘Public servants will advise me, not God: Rudd’ from the Daily Telegraph on Friday November 30th 2007. (more…)

The ACT has revived its bid to allow gay marriages now that the federal Liberal Party which twice blocked the plan is out of the way.
ACT Attorney-General Simon Corbell said yesterday he was optimistic the new Rudd government would not prevent the laws finally going through.
With the change of government, gay unions in the ACT could become law early next year a cause for celebration for Nadine Howard when she heard the news last night. (more…)

Dear Pastor Danny,  Â
I want to encourage you to keep declaring the truth according to God’s Word regardless of how it is received.
I noted that when you declared what the Lord had told you, you included the word “IFâ€. While some would see this as a disclaimer for you to dodge criticism should the prophetic word not come to pass – the “IF†is meant to be an encouragement & motivation to the Church. 2 Chron 7:14 is an example of this type of condition. “IF my people….. etcâ€. Obviously, the condition was not met. Dear Family in Christ,
I am just back in my office after 5 days of ministry in Western Australia. Sorry for the delay in bringing out this email.
We at Catch the Fire Ministries congratulate Prime Minister elect Kevin Rudd and the Labor party for winning the election. We will pray for the elected government, as instructed in the Word of God. “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4) (more…)
"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may…

Catch the Fire Ministries leader Pastor Danny Nalliah has branded the nation’s drought catastrophe the result of a spiritual crisis in Australia and tied the flow of rain fall directly to sin and prayer.
Pastor Nalliah points to a verse in the Bible which reveals the reasons behind the drought. “In the Word of Almighty God (i.e. the Bible), it proclaims in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, “When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn away from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.†(more…)

WHEN Labor leader Kevin Rudd stepped on to the MCG for a sports policy announcement in September, he got an unexpected question from an Auskick parent looking on.
“Do you believe Jesus is the son of God?” the man asked.
Mr Rudd seemed initially perplexed, but then answered by saying that his status as a regular churchgoer was well-known.
For some religious groups campaigning in the election, that wasn’t good enough. (more…)

PRIME Minister John Howard has condemned the League of Rights as “a bit anti-Semitic”, but refused to cut ties with an evangelical pastor who has accepted a platform from the far right-wing group.
Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd also sidestepped the issue of government access for the pastor, warning only that people should be “very, very wary” of dealings with the “grossly anti-Semitic organisation”.
Danny Nalliah, head of Melbourne-based Catch the Fire Ministries, last night reaffirmed he would address the league again, despite criticism from Jewish leaders that his actions had conferred legitimacy on the group.
“I would not change my view. I stand by it,” Pastor Nalliah told The Age. “I am a Christian minister — my task is to go after the sinner, not cast away the sinner. There is no one beyond redemption.” (more…)

PRIME Minister John Howard and Treasurer Peter Costello are under pressure to distance themselves from an evangelical church leader who has spoken at a meeting of the far right-wing League of Rights.
Pastor Danny Nalliah, the head of Melbourne-based Catch the Fire Ministries, has confirmed he addressed the group, despite being warned that they were “anti-Jewish”.
Pastor Nalliah has been given top-level access in recent months to the Howard Government, which he has endorsed enthusiastically. (more…)

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,
My heart is overwhelmed with joy to see what Almighty God did at the Great Hall in Federal Parliament as His people united to seek His Face on behalf of our nation, Australia. I was greatly encouraged to see approximately 650 – 700 people pack out the Great Hall (also many in balcony) to lift up corporate repentance, intercessory prayer, praise and worship to the King of kings and LORD of lords for a miraculous breakthrough in the weather and for His perfect will and plan to be fulfilled regarding the Federal Election on the 24th November. Rain and a prime minister of God’s choosing were the focus of prayers from 600 flag-waving, singing and dancing Christians in Parliament House in Canberra on Monday.
As Pastor Danny Nalliah, from Catch the Fire Ministries, asked God to open the heavens and give Australia much-needed rain, the gathering in the Great Hall was joined by 50 farmers taking part in a protest outside Parliament. (more…)
