The latest attempt by the country’s largest atheist group, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, to banish reliance on God in America, is coming in the form of a lawsuit against President George W. Bush, among others, for their propagation of the National Day of Prayer.  The intercessory day developed from America’s first official call to prayer in 1775 by the Continental Congress which included such members as: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin. The 90-minute debate between Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Joe Biden will begin at 9 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on all major television networks.

I’ve publicly endorsed Sen. John McCain and Sarah Palin, so you know for whom I will be rooting. I’ve reported in the Strang Report how unfair the media has been to Gov. Palin, even ridiculing her Pentecostal background. Now we’ve learned that tonight’s moderator, Gwen Ifill of PBS, has written a pro-Obama book. So much for objectivity.

Speaker (Harry Jenkins) wants Lords Prayer out of the houseFollowing is an article that appeared all over the Australian Media regarding the Secular Humanistic, Islamic, and Interfaith attempt to remove the daily reading of the Lord’s Prayer from the Australian Parliament.

KEVIN Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull both dismissed calls yesterday to replace the Lord’s Prayer with an acknowledgement of Australia’s traditional Aboriginal owners at the daily opening of federal parliament.

The nation’s peak Muslim group and the Greens have backed moves to change the century-old tradition so as to be more inclusive of all Australians.

House of Representatives speaker Harry Jenkins called for debate about whether the prayer should be rewritten or replaced, saying MPs and the public had raised concerns about its relevance to 21st century Australia. (more…)

Sharia Law Is ‘Not Fit For The UK’, Says A Labour Muslim MP

Labour MP Sadiq Khan Message: Labour MP Sadiq Khan said all Muslims should learn English – ‘the passport to participation in mainstream society’

A Labour Muslim minister has warned that Islamic law is too unsophisticated for Britain.

Sadiq Khan said women could be ‘ abused’ by sharia courts, which may give unequal bargaining power to the sexes.

He said: ‘The burden is on those who want to open up these courts to persuade us why they should.’

Mr Khan, who was made a community cohesion minister in this month’s Government reshuffle, rejected the argument that the courts could operate in the same way as the Jewish Beth Din courts.

He said Muslim life in Britain was not advanced enough to run a similar religious legal system.

The MP for Tooting in South London added: ‘I would be very concerned about sharia courts applying in the UK. (more…)

The truth, conceded Professor Ross Garnaut last week, is that it really is cheaper for Australians to do nothing about global warming.

And, no, it’s not immoral to figure there’s no point spending big money to “stop” this warming when it won’t make a blind bit of difference.

In 1998 when I visited the US to lobby the Congress regarding Persecuted Christians in Saudi Arabia, I witnessed a debate in the House of Reps regarding Abortion at 7 months, as many were pushing to legalise it. I just could not believe what I was hearing. I was in tears in the congressman’s office and so was he, as he was the one trying to stop it.

There I received a real burden to save the next generation of babies. So I spent some time visiting the Crisis Pregnancy Centres in the US, then came back to Australia and launched the Crisis Pregnancy Centre under the name Options + Care. Our Motto is – ‘Save a Life and Save a Soul’. (more…)

While driving I have noticed speed limits of 40km in school zones and 50km in built up areas. I believe this is to take necessary precaution and/or avoid harming children by an accident.
 
You may relate to the term, ‘Put a fence around the mountain top – rather than having an ambulance at the bottom of the mountain!’ Even if this is not familiar, all could easily understand what this means in relation to the above, but sadly when it comes to politics and legislations people seem to be naïve or shamefully ignorant in making their choices!
