We at Catch the Fire Ministries are forwarding the following email from our Rise Up Australia coordinator in Canberra regarding a Federal Parliament Opening Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer Petition for your prayer and action!
As Bible-believing God-fearing Christians, we must not only pray, but rise up in Holy Spirit boldness with a united voice of action, to preserve Australia’s Christian Heritage, Foundation, and Destiny, from slipping further away toward a secular humanist, interfaith, anti-Biblical, anti-Christian path toward death, hell, and destruction!
Rising Up Australia and the Nations as His Kingdom Comes,

Federal Parliament Opening Prayer and the Lords Prayer Petition
You will no doubt be aware of moves in the Federal Parliament to amend Standing Orders for the House of Representatives and the Senate to remove the requirement for the reading of the Opening Prayer and the Lords Prayer at the start of each day of sitting.
Many people have indicated to me that this is a most disturbing prospect and one that will meet with strong opposition from most Australians. For this reason I believe it is important that as many people as possible have the opportunity to express an opinion on the issue.
To this end I have attached a copy of a petition prepared by the Right Reverend Dr. John Wilson in the hope you will see your way clear to circulating it for the collection of signatures. I would be delighted if you could also circulate it further afield among your colleagues.
It is important that the petition be copied exactly as per the form attached.Â
Completed sheets can be forwarded to my office and I will arrange for the petition to be presented to the Parliament.
Yours sincerely,
Russell Broadbent MP

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
May we find it in our life to stop and pray that for Father God to change and convict the hearts of those in Parliament House.
As for Father God to reveal to them, that they will one day stand before the Almighty to give Account for their work and life.
God Bless you
Richly
Joseph
I understand there is no support for discontinuing the Lord’s Prayer in Parliament.
Both Mr. Rudd and Mr. Turnball agree we need the Lord’s Prayer.
The petition is probably not necessary now.
Please pray that God blesses me with a passing result on the Nursing board exams I took last November 2008.
Please, pray:
That Our Lord God strength the relationship between Dejan M. and me!
For GOING DEEPER IN KNOWING EACH OTHER!
That WE SPEND A LOT OF TIME TOGETHER!
That our love will grow stronger day by day and that we always place God in the center of our lives!
Thank you for all your prayers
Praying for you
Katarina
