Don’t Try to Tame the Holy Ghost

Fire in My BonesJ. Lee Grady Newsletters – Fire In My Bones – 2nd March 2010

Too often the American church has tried to put the Third Person of the Trinity in a box.

Hundreds of years before the Holy Spirit was poured out on the early church on the day of Pentecost, the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel, newly anointed as a priest, got a free preview of how God would send the Holy Spirit to empower His people. The preview came in the form of a Technicolor vision that included a stormy wind, a cloud that glowed with fire, flashes of lightning and strange, four-faced cherubim that were empowered by God’s divine energy.

Ezekiel wrote of these heavenly creatures: “In the midst of the living beings there was something that looked like burning coals of fire, like torches darting back and forth among the living beings. The fire was bright, and lightning was flashing from the fire. And the living beings ran to and fro like bolts of lightning” (Ezekiel 1:13-14, NASB).

“Let’s not become so trendy and culturally relevant that we lock the Holy Spirit in a cage … so that He doesn’t mess up our scripted show” (more…)

Netanyahu’s AIPAC Speech in Washington Receives Standing Ovation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyahuby Teresa Neumann : Mar 24, 2010 : Israeli Prime Minister’s Office

“The connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel cannot be denied. The connection between the Jewish people and Jerusalem cannot be denied. The Jewish people were building Jerusalem 3,000 years ago and the Jewish people are building Jerusalem today. Jerusalem is not a settlement. It’s our capital.”

(Washington, D.C.)—A March 23 report in Haaretz describes the highly charged difference of opinions addressed in Washington when Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. In contrast, however, at the same time, the Prime Minister received an overwhelming voice of support and a standing ovation from nearly 8,000 attendants after delivering a powerful speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

The Prime Minister reportedly spoke several hours after Secretary Clinton charged that Israel’s building in parts of Jerusalem that the United States does not recognize as being under Israeli sovereignty “undermines” U.S. policy.

Noted the report in Haaretz, when Netanyahu spoke, he “pointed out that Israel has made constant to the concessions to the United States and Palestinian Authority but drew the red line at Jerusalem, reasoning that building houses for Jews in all of united Jerusalem in no way precludes the possibility of a two-state solution. More than half of the American Congressmen were among the more than 7,000 people listening to the speech at the annual conference of the pro-Israel lobby group in Washington. The speech was delayed in order to allow people to enter the packed convention hall.” (more…)

40 Days for Life: an Early Report

40 Days for Lifeby Aimee Herd/David Bereit : Feb 24, 2010 : 40 Days for Life

“Jesus is really, really using us to save lives!”

The 40 Days for Life spring prayer vigils began last week and fantastic testimonies are already pouring in—there have been at least 55 babies’ lives saved so far.

Below is a report from a vigil in Florida. To find out more about 40 Days for Life, and to find a prayer vigil in your area, CLICK HERE, or follow the source link provided.

Report: Early Sunday morning, local coordinator Ernie Cyr sent out an urgent message to 40 Days for Life volunteers in Pensacola, Florida. He had just found out that abortions were taking place at the city’s only abortion facility. Yes, on the Lord’s day.

Ernie’s request for prayer volunteers at the 40 Days for Life vigil was quickly answered.

It would soon become apparent that their prayers were being answered as well.

A woman drove up and told the vigil participants, “I called my sister and convinced her not to have an abortion!” (more…)

Does Obama Walk the Walk When It Comes to Christians and Jews?

President Barack ObamaBy Ken Blackwell – FOXNews.com

It’s hard to call for an end to the culture wars when your own side is manning the barricades. President Obama is big on civility. He talks a very good game. But his nominee for a top slot at the Department of Justice–Dawn Johnsen–is a leading exponent of incivility. Johnsen worked with the ACLU for years. And she joined ARM–the so-called Abortion Rights Mobilization–to strip the Catholic Church of its tax-exempt status because of its pro-life advocacy. The Catholic Church eventually won that case–but not until it had spent years and millions of dollars defending itself. The Catholic Church was just the biggest ARM target. If they had succeeded against the Catholics, they surely would have come after the Southern Baptist Convention, the National Association of Evangelicals, and The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

If Mr. Obama is serious about civility he needs to withdraw Dawn Johnsen’s nomination. If she is confirmed, we will see a radical anti-Catholic, pro-abortion zealot influencing policy thoughout the Justice Department—but also policy throughout the entire federal government.

What we are witnessing right now is an anti-Christian programmatic pogrom. What is a “pogrom” it’s the word that describes anti-Jewish raids by Cossacks and others in czarist Russia, but a programmatic pogrom best describes what is happening right now. These are not isolated attacks. And while we no longer have Cossacks to threaten, we now have left-wing bloggers who actually call themselves Kossacks (after the Daily Kos). (more…)

Governor Huckabee highlights ‘mission calling’ at FOX News

Mike Huckabeeby Peter Wooding : Mar 3, 2010 : ASSIST News Service

“…people ask me why I don’t do more Gospel orientated content on my show. FOX isn’t a Christian channel, it’s a news channel. They want me to be careful not to look sectarian but if anybody watches the show regularly they’re certainly going to see spiritual content whether it’s a Christian music artist or people giving very powerful testimonies of their own faith and walk with God. I’m careful to ensure we do that in the balance.” -Mike Huckabee

(Nashville, TN)—Following his quest for the Republican nomination for president in 2008, Governor Mike Huckabee shared at an NRB press conference, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville on Sunday, February 28, 2010, how he’d now found his mission calling at Fox News channel, where he hosts his own weekend show HUCKABEE.

“I don’t consider myself a religious broadcaster in the sense that my programming is religious, but I consider myself unapologetically a Christian Believer and I take my Christian faith to work with me everyday. I don’t leave it at the door,” explained Huckabee who served as the 44th Governor of Arkansas. (more…)

Messianic Leader Says Revival Breaking Out Among Jewish People

Messianic Evangelist Sid RothTuesday, 02 February 2010 – Adrienne S. Gaines – Charisma Online News

A Messianic evangelist believes revival is breaking out among Jewish communities in the U.S.

Sid Roth, founder of Georgia-based Messianic Vision and host of the It’s Supernatural television broadcast, said he has seen dozens of Jewish Americans profess faith in Christ in recent months during evangelistic events in New York and California.

Last summer in Brighton Beach, N.Y., nearly 400 Russian Jews reportedly attended an evangelistic meeting billed as a lecture on the paranormal. People were healed, Roth said, including a wheelchair-bound woman who had not been able to walk for five years.

“There was just a move of God’s Spirit, and almost the entire group stood up to make public professions of Messiah,” Roth told Charisma.

Later, at a similar meeting in California, roughly 30 Jews professed faith in Christ. “In my opinion this is unprecedented in America,” said Roth, who has ministered among Jewish communities in the Soviet Union for more than 15 years. “I’ve been in Jewish ministry over 35 years, and I’ve never heard of anything like this before.” (more…)

A powerful speech to the UN on Pro-Life

Dear family and friends in Christ,

Following is an amazing Pro-Life speech made by Congressman Chris Smith from the US at the UN General Assembly. Interestingly in 1998 while working with the American Government on legislation to protect Christians from getting persecuted in Saudi Arabia, Pr Daniel had the opportunity of spending time with this same Congressman. In his office the Lord spoke to Pr Daniel to start ‘Options + Care’, the Pregnancy Counselling Centre in Australia, after listening to this Congressman debate a bill in the US Congress to stop 7 months abortion.

Read the whole speech below as it is very interesting and informative.

Excerpts from a powerful speech – Chris Smith to the UN http://www.lifenews.com/int1465.html

“Safe abortion” is the ultimate oxymoron. Child dismemberment, forced premature expulsion from the safety of the womb, chemical poisoning or deliberate starvation-one of the chemicals in RU 486 actually denies nourishment to an unborn child– can never, ever be construed to be benign, compassionate or safe… (more…)

Revival? What is missing? by Don Batten

Many Christians today are praying for revival, and that is good. But something else is needed.

Throughout history, revival occurred with the faithful preaching of righteousness, sin, and judgment. Elijah, faced with 450 prophets of Baal, challenged the people in black and white terms: ‘How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him: but if Baal is God, follow him’ (1 Kings 18:21).

The prophets to Israel and Judah detailed the people’s sins and called on them to repent. (more…)

24-7 Prayer Marks Tenth Anniversary With London Event

9 February 2010 – Adrienne S. Gaines – Charisma News Online

A Britain-based ministry that has sparked a global movement of nonstop prayer is celebrating its 10th anniversary this week.

On Saturday, 24-7 Prayer is hosting an Iam10 celebration in London, where attendees will reflect on the last decade, spend time in prayer and worship, and participate in training opportunities.

“Over the last year or so, we feel that God has been marking the race out more clearly ahead of us, giving us fresh vision and direction, and IAM10 feels like the perfect time to ‘go public’ and explore this together,” the ministry stated on its Web site. “Having briefly reflected on the past ten years together, we will look ahead to the next ten, and commit ourselves to following wherever the Lord leads us-probably in many wild, pioneering ways.”

Launched in Chichester, England, 24-7 Prayer has seen prayer rooms form in 100 nations since February 2000, when founder Pete Greig called for a year of unbroken prayer. Today, intercessors of all ages meet in places as diverse as the U.S. Naval Academy, the British Parliament and a punk festival in Germany to pray in one-hour shifts for local and global concerns.

Global Warming Debate Heats Up in Wake of Record Snowstorms

Updated February 13, 2010 by Blake Snow – FOXNews.com

Scientists and politicians on both sides of the climate change debate have been pointing to the record-breaking snowstorms in the Mid-Atlantic states to promote their theories on the earth’s changing temperatures — and the debate is getting downright nasty.

As snow-weary Pennsylvanians dug out, utilities struggled to restore power to thousands and crews worked to reopen closed roads after a record-breaking blizzard that dumped more than a foot of snow across the state.

Myth Of The Anti-Muslim Backlash

Investors.com ^ | January 13, 2010 | PAUL SPERRY  – Posted on 14 January 2010 by Kaslin

The Council on American-Islamic Relations warns that making an issue of Islamic terror incites “hate crimes” against innocent Muslims, but federal data disprove that. And commendably, the Obama administration is ignoring the Islamist pressure group’s latest bluff.

The White House has added top CAIR donor Saudi Arabia to a list of 14 mostly Muslim nations whose travelers will undergo extra airport-security screening in the wake of the Christmas Day airliner attack by a Muslim passenger. CAIR slammed the new policy as “across-the-board profiling” and griped “Muslims will pay the price for this one.”

That’s standard post-Islamic-terror bluster by CAIR, which remains under a cloud of terror suspicion itself following its 2007 federal designation as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror finance case in U.S. history. The group is quick to argue that increased security only serves to demonize innocent Muslims and put a bull’s-eye on their backs.

But it’s a red herring, and one that can have the dangerous effect — designed or not — of taking authorities off the scent of radical Muslims.

Billy Graham’s Suit – I not only know who I am .. I also know where I’m going.’

Billy GrahamBilly Graham is now 90 years old with Parkinson’s disease.

In January 2000, leaders in Charlotte, North Carolina,  invited their favorite son, Billy Graham, to a luncheon in his honor.

Billy initially hesitated to accept the invitation because he struggles with Parkinson’s disease. But the Charlotte  leaders said, ‘We don’t expect a major address. Just  come and let us honor you.’ So he agreed..

After wonderful things were said about him, Dr. Graham  stepped to the rostrum, looked at the crowd, and said,  ‘I’m reminded today of Albert Einstein, the great physicist who  this month has been honored by Time magazine as the  Man of the Century. Einstein was once traveling from  Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the  aisle, punching the tickets of every passenger. When he  came to Einstein, Einstein reached in his vest pocket. He  couldn’t find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser pockets.  It wasn’t there, so he looked in his briefcase but couldn’t find it.  Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn’t find it.
