US cardinal: “It is clear that Muslims have as their ultimate goal conquest and power over the world”

October 8, 2016 – by Robert Spencer

Cardinal Burke’s line runs directly counter to the rainbows-and-moonbeams Islam of Pope Francis.

He is, apparently, too prominent for Catholic authorities to try to silence, unlike other foes of jihad terror whom the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and individual bishops have worked so assiduously against.

Cardinal Burke must get a chilly reception from his peers when they all get together.

Speaking in an interview with Italian newspaper Il Giornale, Cardinal Raymond Burke accused Westerners of being too weak to acknowledge the incompatibility of Christianity and Islam.

Rick Warren, Russell Moore Go on Rant Against Sex-Charged Culture

11/18/2014 Josephine McKenna/RNS – Charisma News

Prominent U.S. evangelicals Russell Moore and Rick Warren blasted the sexual revolution at a Vatican conference Nov. 18 and said it is destroying the institution of marriage.

Moore, the public face of the Southern Baptist Convention, said sexual liberation had created “a culture obsessed with sex” that had simply led to a “boredom of sex shorn of mystery.”

“Western culture now celebrates casual sexuality, cohabitation, no-fault divorce, family redefinition and abortion right as part of a sexual revolution that can tear down old patriarchal systems,” Moore told a global gathering of leaders from Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and other faiths as part of the “Complementarity of Man and Woman” conference convened by Pope Francis.

The Southern Baptist ethicist said the sexual revolution appeared to have imposed a new patriarchy that enabled men to “pursue a Darwinian fantasy of the predatory alpha male” for the pursuit of “power, prestige and personal pleasure.”

“Does anyone really believe these things will empower women and children?” he asked. “We see the wreckage of sexuality as self-expression all around us, and we will see more yet.”

Vatican Document Makes Dramatic Tone Shift Over Homosexuals

10/13/2014 Philip Pullella/Reuters

In a dramatic shift in tone, a Vatican document said on Monday that homosexuals had “gifts and qualities to offer” and asked if Catholicism could accept gays and recognize positive aspects of same-sex couples.

The document, prepared after a week of discussions at an assembly of 200 bishops on the family, said the Roman Church should challenge itself to find “a fraternal space” for homosexuals without compromising Catholic doctrine on family and matrimony.

While the text did not signal any change in the Church’s condemnation of homosexual acts or its opposition to gay marriage, it used language that was less judgmental and more compassionate than past Vatican statements under previous popes.

The document will be the basis for discussion for the second and final week of the assembly, known as a synod, which was called by Pope Francis and focuses on the theme of the family.

It will also serve for further reflection among Catholics around the world ahead of another, definitive synod next year.

“Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer the Christian community: Are we capable of welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a further space in our communities? Often they wish to encounter a Church that offers them a welcoming home,” said the document, known by its Latin name “relatio.”

With Jesus, Pope’s Seat is Never Vacant as Christ is the Ultimate Head of the Church

 By Ruth Malhotra , CP Op-Ed Contributor – March 1, 2013

Religion rarely dominates global news headlines, but Pope Benedict’s resignation has proven a notable exception. The mainstream media, usually reluctant to focus on matters of faith, is watching and reporting with fascination as the Roman Catholic Church faces a historic and unprecedented transition. Thursday’s coverage was particularly striking, as commentators repeatedly stated – in tones ranging from intellectual curiosity to intense anguish – that “the papacy is vacant” and “the seat of Saint Peter is empty” and “the church around the world is without a leader.”

Social media is also flooded with analysis of these developments, and the official papal twitter account (@Pontifex), is even listed as “Sede Vacante.” For the estimated 1.4 billion Catholics around the world, there does seem to be a sudden void. Some are responding with doubt and despair as the Catholic Church has encountered many tumultuous challenges in recent years, and others express anticipation and hope that a new Pope will usher in a renewed vision for the Vatican.

But amidst all the speculation, perhaps this is valuable time for Catholics – and for all of us who claim the name of Christ – to reflect and be reminded that there is indeed a leader who is always on His throne. A leader whose supremacy and sufficiency and strength are never in question. A leader who is seated in Heaven, and – even at this moment – is interceding to God the Father on our behalf.

Yes, believers must look beyond prominent people and formal institutions – however historic and impactful they may be – to the preeminent role of Jesus Christ as the true Head of the church.

With this in mind, how can we respond with clarity and courage, effectively contending for the faith and comforting our brothers and sisters during these times of transition?

Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the foundation of the church.

The Bible continually calls believers to focus on the supremacy of Christ and the authority and inspiration of God’s Word in every aspect of our lives, and highlights His role as the foundation of the church. In Colossians 1:18, the apostle Paul says, “And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”

Mass European Rally for Israel

Truth for Isrealby Hillel Fendel

A mass rally-demonstration entitled “For the truth, for Israel” will be held in Rome this Thursday. It is being organized by Fiamma Nirenstein – journalist, MP, and vice president of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Italian Chamber of Deputies – and other leading European personalities.  MK Nirenstein forwarded the information about the rally  to IsraelNationalNews.

The rally will be held at the Temple of Hadrian (Tempio di Adriano), Piazza di Pietra, on Thursday, October 7 at 6:00 PM. Ironically, it was the Roman Emperor Hadrian who, late in his reign, suppressed the Bar Kokhba revolt in Judea in 145 C.E., and renamed the province Syria Palestina.

The rally is billed as “the first European, bipartisan event aimed at restoring the truth regarding Israel, putting an end to the barrage of lies that are hurled at Israel every day and to the double standard used by the media  and international organizations.” More than 80 personalities, politicians, intellectuals, artists and journalists from all over Europe are registered to take the floor for a maximum of five minutes each. Opening the event will be former Spanish Prime Minister José Maria Aznar, president of “Friends of Israel.”
