Rain and a prime minister of God’s choosing were the focus of prayers from 600 flag-waving, singing and dancing Christians in Parliament House in Canberra on Monday.
As Pastor Danny Nalliah, from Catch the Fire Ministries, asked God to open the heavens and give Australia much-needed rain, the gathering in the Great Hall was joined by 50 farmers taking part in a protest outside Parliament. (more…)

A FRINGE Christian pastor known for comments attacking Muslims has led a prayer session in Parliament House — and given Prime Minister John Howard a strong endorsement.

THE controversial leader of the evangelical Catch The Fire Ministries, Daniel Nalliah, yesterday attacked Islam, multiculturalism and gay rights, and applauded the Coalition’s “black and white stance” on moral issues.
Mr Nalliah led more than 500 people in a two-hour singing, dancing service to pray for rain and for moral government, in the same hall in Parliament House where the party leaders held their debate the night before.The hard-line pastor called on Kevin Rudd to prove his faith as a Christian by publicly recognising Christ as the son of God, and bringing the secular Left of his party to heel. TREASURER Peter Costello has defended his support of an evangelical church leader who was acquitted of religious vilification, saying the pastor had got a “rough deal”.
Mr Costello said he met with Catch the Fire Ministries leader Danny Nalliah in August, because he had taken “great interest” in the religious vilification case between the leader and the Islamic Council of Victoria. (more…)

Experience / Relationship or Academic?Â
After much thought and prayer I have decided to release this article in response to the many emails I received after the prophecy released regarding the next federal election. Most of the emails we received were very positive and thanking God for direction. We also were glad to receive a few extremely negative emails from Christians who were absolutely furious with what I have declared regarding the election. Thank God we are in Australia, we are a democracy, and you certainly have the right to express yourself. And I enjoy reading your comments… (more…)

The recent report ‘Little Children Are Sacred’ revealed an epidemic of child sexual abuse in the Northern Territory fuelled by alcohol, drugs and pornography. As part of its strategy to combat violence against children the Federal Government has banned pornography in remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. It is also looking at overriding the Northern Territory’s liberal censorship laws, which allow for the sale of explicit pornography and restricting the supply of similar material out of the ACT, which has a large mail-order business. Many of you will have already heard the breaking news regarding the battle for life in Victoria; that is that Candy Broad’s bill to 
decriminalise abortion has been withdrawn!
Instead, the new Premier of Victoria John Brumby has commissioned a group to research the issue more thoroughly and is expected to propose another bill in March 2008. He intends for abortion to be decriminalised in Victoria, but with similar restrictions as under the Menhennit ruling of 1969 (which permits abortion only if deemed necessary for the woman’s life or health).
This is both great news and a sobering alert on several levels! (more…)
