Question – “Mr Rudd, do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God?”
Answer – ” Well, I’m a – I’m a, a person who attends church regularly.”
Mr Rudd has been pursuing the Christians vote with some encouragement from some sections of the church since he saw it’s importance at the last election. He even convened a special meeting of Labor MPs to work out how to do it. He chaired an ALP Caucus Committee on Faith, Politics and Values set up because “of the emergence of Family First”. (more…)

John Howard: Champion for Israel – Article by Isi Leibler

RE Multi-culturalism
“Howard was concerned that multi-culturalism would encourage minorities to create self-contained enclaves and discourage integration.  Well before Islamic extremism raised its ugly head, he warned that anti-democratic elements would exploit multi-culturalism in order to undermine the open society”.

Re Israel
“Howard’s friendship towards Jews can be traced back to his days as a young lawyer in a legal firm with Jewish principals.  He first visited Israel in 1962 and since then has remained a champion of the Jewish State.  His feelings are best reflected in his own words: ‘The personal affection I have for the State of Israel, the personal regard I have for the Jewish peoeple of the world, will never be diminished.  It is something I hold dearly, something I value as part of my being and as part of what I have tried to do with my life.'”

(After meeting with Arafat, Howard told Leibler): “I want you to know that should Arafat ever renege on the commitments to peace he conveyed today, I give you a solemn undertaking that if I am still prime minister, the Australian Jewish community and the people of Israel will never have reason to feel that I forsook them.”  Howard kept his word.  In subsequent years Australia walked a lonely path, courageously supporting Israel…He never deviated from his commitment. Experience/Relationship or Academic? Article by Pastor Danny Nalliah

Danny NalliahExperience / Relationship or Academic?

After much thought and prayer I have decided to release this article in response to the many emails I received after the prophecy released regarding the next federal election. Most of the emails we received were very positive and thanking God for direction. We also were glad to receive a few extremely negative emails from Christians who were absolutely furious with what I have declared regarding the election. Thank God we are in Australia, we are a democracy, and you certainly have the right to express yourself. And I enjoy reading your comments… (more…)

“… if you’re even vaguely familiar with classical Islamic tradition, you’ll recognise at once that we’ve had our reformation, and it’s called al-Qaeda,” Waleed Aly, prominent Australian Muslim and media commentator

THE world, as the pundits ritually remind us at this time each year, changed drastically and irrevocably with the terrorist attacks on the US on September 11, 2001. And for no group of people has this been more true than for Muslims living in the West.

John Anderson Calls For Australia Wide Ban on all Hard Core Pornography

Hello Friends, Prayer Warriors & Intercessors,  (from Chris Burke     Prayer Coordinator    www.prayforme.com.au)

The recent report ‘Little Children Are Sacred’ revealed an epidemic of child sexual abuse in the Northern Territory fuelled by alcohol, drugs and pornography. As part of its strategy to combat violence against children the Federal Government has banned pornography in remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. It is also looking at overriding the Northern Territory’s liberal censorship laws, which allow for the sale of explicit pornography and restricting the supply of similar material out of the ACT, which has a large mail-order business. Decriminalisation of Abortion Postponed

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,     (from Pastor Danny Nalliah)

Many of you will have already heard the breaking news regarding the battle for life in Victoria; that is that Candy Broad’s bill to Infinity of Lifedecriminalise abortion has been withdrawn!

Instead, the new Premier of Victoria John Brumby has commissioned a group to research the issue more thoroughly and is expected to propose another bill in March 2008. He intends for abortion to be decriminalised in Victoria, but with similar restrictions as under the Menhennit ruling of 1969 (which permits abortion only if deemed necessary for the woman’s life or health).

This is both great news and a sobering alert on several levels! (more…)

Report on Howard & Rudd Showdown In Canberra – August 9th 2007

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,John Howard, on screen, addresses the Hillsong church congregation in Sydney yesterday. He promises to crack down on internet porn

The live webcast of Prime Minister John Howard and Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd was a tremendous  breakthrough in raising up Christian moral values across our nation! Below are media articles from The Australian, Herald Sun, Age, and Sydney Morning Herald.
Ps. Danny of Catch the Fire Ministries who was present at the forum in Canberra, stated, “It was a fantastic event and clearly indicated Prime Minister John Howard’s defined stand for Christian values. On the other hand, I was very unhappy with the side-stepping responses that Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd gave, especially when questioned regarding Labor’s plans for the introduction of federal racial and religious vilification laws.”

We applaud the Australian Christian Lobby for organizing such a history making event!
