Luter, on race relations, sees church as unifier

by Marilyn Stewart –  Thursday, February 18, 2016

NEW ORLEANS (BP) — Race relations issues have not improved since the election of the first African American U.S. president, but the church can lead in modeling reconciliation, said Fred Luter Jr., immediate past president of the Southern Baptist Convention, the first African American to hold the position.

Fred Luter, former SBC president speaking on a Black History Month video, underscored a unity rooted in Jesus Christ. “Regardless of your race, regardless of what side of the track you were born on, regardless of all the things the media and society have tried to do to divide us, we can be one.”

Luter, speaking on a Black History Month video, “Answering the Call” produced by New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, said, “I really thought this nation was ready to move forward” with the historic election of Barack Obama that garnered votes from Anglos as well as diverse ethnic groups.

Owner of Ohio deli attacked by jihadi screaming “Allahu akbar”: “I am going to get a bigger Israeli flag”

February 15, 2016 – by Robert Spencer

This is what we need: defiance and courage in the face of evil. Instead, the whole West is surrendering, and calling it “respect.”

“EXCLUSIVE: Owner of Ohio Deli Targeted by Machete Terrorist: ‘We Are Israeli, We Fight Back,’” by Shiri Moshe, The Tower, February 14, 2016 (thanks to Jerk Chicken):

Hany Baransi has been serving authentic hummus and falafel in his central Ohio eatery for 27 years, proudly giving diners a taste of his Israeli Christian Arab heritage between bites of rich Mediterranean fare.

A sign bearing an Arabic greeting—“Ahlan Wa Sahalan”— hangs prominently near the glass doors of his Nazareth Restaurant & Deli in Columbus, through which passersby can also spot an Israeli flag. Baransi says he has always been outspoken about his Israeli identity, and so when his restaurant was attacked on Thursday evening by a machete-wielding man, he believed it was no coincidence.

Who’s Burning Black Churches?

By Michelle Malkin – Nov. 6, 2015 – Jewish World Review

Here we go again: another liberal narrative burned to a crisp.

Over a two-week period in October, an arsonist targeted seven churches in the St. Louis area — including several in Black Lives Matter protest hotspot Ferguson, Missouri.

The Atlantic magazine, invoking the “long history of terrorism against black churches in America,” lamented that the crime spree had been “slow to get the same attention” in the local and national media as another string of church arsons that occurred earlier this summer.

Reminder: Several of those hyped hate crimes against “black churches” had been committed by black suspects; a significant number of the “black churches” were, in fact, white churches; and the complex motives behind the crimes included mental illness, vandalism and concealment of theft.

Reminder: The same hyperventilators who stoked fears about this summer’s church incidents had also stoked hysteria about the 1990s black church arson “epidemic” that fell apart under scrutiny and ended with USA Today admitting that “analysis of the 64 fires since 1995 shows only four can be conclusively shown to be racially motivated.”

Media Release – Riots to Reconciliation – see you at Cronulla 10th memorial at 12 midday this Saturday 12th December

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –TUESDAY 8th DECEMBER 2015

“There has been much speculation by the media and the socialist left regarding the 10th anniversary memorial in Cronulla NSW, calling it a racist rally.

That is exactly why I as the National President of Rise Up Australia Party, agreed to speak at this rally, when I was approached by the organizers.

You may click the link above to watch a brief video I recently released.

We cannot let our right for freedom of speech stifled by a bunch of politically correct politicians and the socialist left.

When the socialist left are hell bent on stopping us, that’s when you know for sure you must be doing something right and not stop, but get even more active in fighting this evil and Islamic fundamentalism head on.

I will be speaking at this rally to bring reconciliation, hope, love and unity amongst all who call Australia home, but definitely not at the cost of compromising our way of life, our right for free speech and culture.

MEF Research and Writing Why the West Should Listen to Hungary on Muslim Refugees

by Raymond Ibrahim – FrontPage Magazine – September 21, 2015

Some central and east European countries are being criticized by more “progressive” Western nations for not wanting to take in Muslim refugees.

Chief among them is Hungary, specifically in the person of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Western media are characterizing him as “xenophobic,” “full of hate speech,” and Europe’s “creeping dictator.” Sounding like the mafia boss of the Left, the Guardian simply refers to him as a “problem” that needs to be “solved.”

Orbán’s crime is that he wants to secure his nation against Muslims and preserve its Christian identity. According to Hungary’s prime minister:

Those arriving have been raised in another religion, and represent a radically different culture. Most of them are not Christians, but Muslims. This is an important question, because Europe and European identity is rooted in Christianity…. We don’t want to criticize France, Belgium, any other country, but we think all countries have a right to decide whether they want to have a large number of Muslims in their countries. If they want to live together with them, they can.

We don’t want to and I think we have a right to decide that we do not want a large number of Muslim people in our country. We do not like the consequences of having a large number of Muslim communities that we see in other countries, and I do not see any reason for anyone else to force us to create ways of living together in Hungary that we do not want to see….

With or Without Deal, Iran Still Wishes Death to ‘Great Satan’ America

September 02, 2015 – CBN News

As Iran hardliners continue to chant “death to America,” President Barack Obama is on the verge of getting congressional approval for his controversial Iranian nuclear agreement.

Support from Sens. Chris Coons, D-Del., and Bob Case, D-Pa., means the president is one vote away from clinching victory in the Senate.

Despite furious opposition, 33 senators have now backed the deal. The president needs 34 to uphold his veto of a Republican measure disproving the agreement. Congress has till September 17 to vote for or against it.

At the State Department, officials continued to stress Obama’s statement that the U.S. would impose further sanctions should Iran change its behavior toward the deal — and that it prevents Iran from becoming a nuclear power.

How One Arab’s Hatred for Israel Turned to Love: All Things Are Possible!

Charles Gardner : Jul 16, 2015 : Israel Today

Even Christians in Egypt are encouraged to hate Jews. In writing essays, for example, the more vitriol you could express against them the higher marks you would get.

Sameh Metry leads a lively 100-strong Arabic congregation in Ealing while at the same time serving as vicar of an English-speaking church in nearby St Hugh’s, Northolt. And he showed his keyboard skills as he led a high-octane worship session during a conference in Manchester aimed at building bridges between Middle Eastern followers of Jesus.

He was born into a Coptic Orthodox family in Upper Egypt and became a born-again Christian at 15.

ESPN’s Smith: All Lives DO Matter

7.21.2015 – News – Mark Tapson

ESPN commentor Stephen A. Smith slammed the Black Lives Matter movement on Twitter and his show Tuesday, as Politistick reports.

Smith, a man who has never been afraid to go against the grain of the black Democrat narrative, was commenting upon the controversy about Martin O’Malley being shouted down by Black Lives Matter protesters who were outraged that the Democrat presidential candidate asserted that “all lives matter.” That wasn’t an acceptable stance to the protesters.

Smith expressed his irritation on Twitter, calling out the Black Lives Matter movement for their hypocritical silence regarding black-on-black crimes in Democrat Party-controlled cities:

On The Stephen A. Smith Show, he began, “Let me preface my comments by saying I am fully aware of the fact that no one white can say what I’m about to say. But damn it, I’m going to say it!”

Democrat presidential candidate Martin O’Malley apologized on Saturday. Ladies and gentlemen, guess why he apologized? Because during a discussion in front of an abundance of African-Americans, he said ‘all lives matter’ as opposed to ‘black lives matter.’

Anthony Bradley: The South is Being Transformed by Christian Forgiveness

by Anthony B. Bradley – June 27, 2015

During Dylann Roof’s first court appearance after the June 17 murder of nine worshippers at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, several families of the victims offered forgiveness to man who did not deserve it.

Why were they so quick to forgive? The families were simply exercising a fundamental Christian virtue. In so doing, they possibly changed the South forever in the process as Confederate flags and symbols are removed from state buildings across the South.

When we suffer injustice, the human heart craves revenge, vindication and retaliation. These are also desires Christ came to save us from. Christians are commanded to respond to injustice with forgiveness. This principle is central to Jesus’ teaching in the Lord’s Prayer: “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Matt 6:12). Immediately after this prayer, Jesus tells his disciples, “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14–15)

Power of Love: MSNBC Reporter Overcome by Charleston Crowd Singing Gospel Songs during Shooting Suspect’s Arraignment

Aimee Herd : Jun 22, 2015 : YouTube.com, MSNBC

…They’re singing a Gospel song?… and you heard from the family members …of those who were lost… You can see the outpouring of support for this community; it goes all the way down the street…”

EDITOR’S NOTE: What an incredibly powerful testimony of God’s love and forgiveness the people of Charleston are showing the world! It’s obviously having a great impact on secular media who expected the worst, and instead, found themselves covering the message of the Gospel being lived out in front of them. Thank you Charleston. -Aimee Herd, BCN.

(Charleston, SC)—While covering the arraignment for Charleston shooting suspect, Dylann Roof, MSNBC reporter Thomas Roberts suddenly choked up as he described the inspirational scene before him at a vigil which took place at the same time.

Roberts seemed astounded as he reported how the shooting victims’ family members had spoken one-by-one to the 21-year-old suspect, telling him they’d forgiven him for killing their loved ones.
