A desperate missionary family, unfamiliar with healing revivals, takes their daughter to Lakeland where she has an encounter with Jesus.
(Lakeland, Florida)—Pastor Stephen Strader of Ignited Church in Lakeland, Florida, where a massive revival has broken out, contacted Breaking Christian News about an amazing healing that took place there on Saturday, April 26, in which 14-year-old Kelsey Hays was healed from multiple immune diseases.
I telephoned Kelsey’s mother, Lesley, of Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 29, to ask her details of what happened. She and Kelsey were still in Lakeland, preparing to fly back to Kansas City where they attend the International House of Prayer (IHOP). (more…)

There’s a widespread belief that the penalty for leaving Islam is death – hence, perhaps, the killing of a British teacher last week. But Shiraz Maher believes attitudes may be softening.
Ziya Meral’s parents disowned him when he converted from Islam to Christianity.
“They said ‘go away, you’re not our son.’ They told people I died in an accident rather than having the shame of their son leaving Islam.” (more…)

God REMOVED many serious scars and birthmarks on people’s bodies, raised scars gone, scars that used to dip down into the skin filled in, purple and dark red blotches, gone! Many, many scars healed. He not only heals us, He removes even the scars that are left behind!
(Lakeland, Florida)—Reports are flooding in from the Revival breaking out in Lakeland, Florida. As per a previous BCN posting, because of the continuing outpouring of Holy Spirit healings and salvations, evangelist Todd Bentley has extended his healing meetings at Ignited Church in Lakeland. As young people in Iran find themselves trapped between rising political instability, the harsh systems of Islamic Sharia laws that increasingly govern and control their lives, as well as arrests and “public security†crackdowns, a Christian satellite station is providing them with rest and winning their hearts for the Lord.
SAT-7, a Middle Eastern Christian satellite station, says it has reached unprecedented numbers of young people in the region with its 24-hour SAT-7 PARS Farsi language broadcasts. (more…)
Dear Family and Friends in Christ,
I am not sure where to start, as my heart is almost totally overwhelmed with thanksgiving and complete joy! Seeing God move and knit together so many hearts at the celebration at the ‘Standing With Israel’ evening was such a sight! It was a visual experience – glorious banners expressing different aspects of the names of God. You could actually see the love transmitted from one to another, as God’s grace laced the words shared. The room buzzed with murmured approval as statements concerning Israel’s journey unfolded through the different speakers, many overwhelmed by what they saw and heard.
The event was held at the Performing Art Centre, Glen Eira College in Caulfield, right in the heart of the Jewish community. The hall was filled to overflowing with 350 – 400 people, drawn from all walks of life, with an obvious intense love for the nation of Israel. There were many Messianic Jews in attendance, along with many Jews from the immediate area. (more…)
Christians will stand to show support and solidarity for the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel in a celebration service with special guest speaker, Dr Danny Lamm, from the State Zionist Council of Victoria, and other Australian Jewish leaders on the eve of the Jewish nation’s birthday.
The legendary sounds of the shofar will resound as the cake is cut, Jewish songs and dances are performed and the Jewish Tanakh Scriptures are read. A representation of Light Horsemen in full regalia will also be a centerpiece of the celebration service designed to honour not only the 60th anniversary of the nation of Israel but also the important role Australia’s Light Horsemen played in the liberation of Beersheba in 1917.
The night at the Performing Art Centre, Glen Eira College, 76 Booran Rd, Caulfield South on Tuesday 13 May 2008 at 7.30pm is hosted by interdenominational ministry, Catch the Fire Ministries and spearheaded by Pastor Danny Nalliah. (more…)

He has been encouraged to have a time of prayer with President Bush and Laura Bush at their summit.
“Some say it is a new day in South Korea. After a landslide election in November, Myung-Bak Lee was sworn into office on February 19.”
So wrote Ann Lovell, a media worker based in Seoul with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in a story for Baptist Press. She continued, “This has been good news for many of South Korea’s Christian leaders since Lee also is a member of the 70,000 member Somang Presbyterian Church in Seoul. One of the president’s chief advocates is Billy Kim, president of South Korea’s Far East Broadcasting Company and pastor of Suwon Central Baptist Church from 1960-2004. Kim, a former Baptist World Alliance president regarded as one of the world’s most influential Christian leaders, first earned international attention when he served as an interpreter for the 1973 Billy Graham crusade. Dear Family and Friends in Christ,
Both as the Church and a Nation, we are certainly reaping what we have sown in the last Federal Election 2007!Â
Â
Over the last several days, I’m sure you watched incredible television reports and read in the newspapers that the homosexual community is about to receive their full rights across Australia, thanks to the liberal thinking of the new Federal Labor Government. Is this really the Government many Christian leaders promoted as a viable alternative to the previous government we had? Frankly, I need to ask the question, ‘Are those Christian leaders who play bipartisan politics, just trying to play both sides of politics to protect their reputation, or are they really wanting to please a righteous and holy God?’ (more…)

Following a wave of comments by Christian viewers criticizing Wednesday night’s “American Idol” performance that replaced “Jesus” with “shepherd” in their finale song, Idol contestants stepped back on stage Thursday, this time singing “Jesus.”

The commentary below is circulating on the internet and provides an excellent historical context for us to view the current rising tide of militant Islam. Let us not forget George Santayana’s remarkable insight: “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.â€
A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.
‘Very few people were true Nazis ‘he said,’ but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’ (more…)
By Greg Laurie,
As a 17-year-old boy, I had looked for truth and answers in this world and found none. Then, to my own amazement, I found myself completely won over by the bold, unashamed witness of a group of committed Christians on my high school campus.
People could have tried to be cool and win me over, but it would have never worked. I’d had enough of “cool” in the crazy home I was raised in to make me choke. I had pretty much seen it all, and nothing to me was lamer than people trying too hard to be cool. (more…)
Dear Family and Friends in Christ,

Yes, it is ANZAC day, once again when we salute our war heroes for the sacrifices they made in protecting our nation. Very often we forget things quite quickly as we live in this fast moving, ever changing time-frame of 2008. But I am sure, if you think back, you will recall that last year as we were approaching ANZAC day, many regions in our Nation were facing a major crisis with severe drought, with bush fires burning and threatening in many places. In Victoria, some country towns, such as King Lake and Halls Gap (and other locations) were almost consumed by fire and the residences were asked to leave their homes on ANZAC day 2007. (more…)

Rabbi calls the increasingly close relationship between Christians and Jews “one of the miracles of the 20th century.”
(Jerusalem)—Likud opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu has publicly declared that Israel “has no better friends in the world” than Christians who love and support Israel. “This is a friendship of the heart, a friendship of common roots, and a friendship of common civilization,” he told a conference of American Evangelicals in Jerusalem, organized by Christians United for Israel.
