Billy Graham’s Suit – I not only know who I am .. I also know where I’m going.’

Billy GrahamBilly Graham is now 90 years old with Parkinson’s disease.

In January 2000, leaders in Charlotte, North Carolina,  invited their favorite son, Billy Graham, to a luncheon in his honor.

Billy initially hesitated to accept the invitation because he struggles with Parkinson’s disease. But the Charlotte  leaders said, ‘We don’t expect a major address. Just  come and let us honor you.’ So he agreed..

After wonderful things were said about him, Dr. Graham  stepped to the rostrum, looked at the crowd, and said,  ‘I’m reminded today of Albert Einstein, the great physicist who  this month has been honored by Time magazine as the  Man of the Century. Einstein was once traveling from  Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the  aisle, punching the tickets of every passenger. When he  came to Einstein, Einstein reached in his vest pocket. He  couldn’t find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser pockets.  It wasn’t there, so he looked in his briefcase but couldn’t find it.  Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn’t find it.

Sarah Palin: We Won’t Get Over Abortion, Real Women’s Advocates Pro-Life

Potential 2012 Presidential Candidate Sarah PalinLife News | 1/21/10 | Steven Ertelt – Posted on 23 January 2010

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has a message for the mainstream media and abortion advocates. In a new note encouraging pro-life advocates at the March for Life, the former Alaska governor says pro-life people won’t “get over” abortion because abortions hurt women.

Palin starts the message, shared with her more than one million fans on FaceBook, with encouragement for the hundreds of thousands at the March for Life.

“Tomorrow the 37th annual March for Life will occur in Washington, D.C. January is a tough month to schedule a march in Washington, but every year hundreds of thousands of everyday Americans from across our nation brave the cold weather on the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision to bear a positive witness to the culture of life,” Palin writes.

Pat Robertson Under Fire for Haiti Remarks

Pat RobertsonThursday, 14 January 2010 – Adrienne S. Gaines News – Featured News – Charisma

Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson has come under fire for remarks he made Wednesday on his 700 Club program suggesting the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti Tuesday was a consequence of a pact Haitian leaders may have made with Satan 200 years ago.

“They were under the heel of the French, you know Napoleon the third and whatever, and they got together and swore a pact to the devil,” said Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). “They said, ‘We will serve you if you will get us free from the French.’ True story.

“And so the devil said, ‘OK, it’s a deal.’ And they kicked the French out. The Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after another.”

Robertson said the Dominican Republic, which shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti, is “prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, etc.,” while Haiti is “in desperate poverty.” (more…)

QED – Abbott and the Bible

Tony AbbottQED – Abbott and the Bible –  by Ben-Peter Terpstra – January 31, 2010

Tony Abbott’s pro-Bible statements outraged his opponents. And the reason is obvious to all with marbles.

In socialist circles, encouraging pupils to study Judeo-Christian texts is a sin. …

Many Christian groups have praised and even promoted Mr Rudd for being a Christian. Strangely they have been very quiet about Mr Abbott’s Christian faith since he became Liberal leader.

All too often this seems to suggest that it is actually Mr Rudd’s brand of politics, rather than his faith, that they are applauding.

At the same time the atheists, humanists and socialists have been very quiet about Mr Rudd’s ‘faith’ yet have come out firing as soon as Mr Abbott became Liberal Leader and have continued to fire at him ever since.

Again suggesting that the real motivation is politics rather than faith.

Soldiers learn Biblical history of Air Base

U.S. Forces Iraq – Spc. Lisa A. Cope, USA – Posted on 01/10/2010 by SandRat

AL ASAD AIR BASE — Over the past 4,000 years, the terrain in Iraq has changed drastically. But according to the oral tradition of the Bedouins, one of Abraham’s resting places during his biblical journey from Ur to Canaan is located aboard this base.

The oasis at Al Asad, commonly referred to as Abraham’s Oasis or Abraham’s Well, would have been critical to Abraham’s travels through the desert.

Capt. Michael T. Lanigan, the chaplain with Task Force Atlas, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team out of Portland, Ore., has studied the Bible and the history of the site.

“Abraham’s Oasis was one of the few stopping points that … according to the oral tradition of the Bedouins, was where Abraham and his family stopped before going on to Canaan, which is Jerusalem, the promised land, where God had called him,” said Lanigan, a Salem, Ore., native.

Amazing Holy Spirit Outpouring on Kangaroo Island, South Australia

Lady healed of severe leg pains and walks without walker!Body of Christ Unites to Catch the Fire of Holy Spirit Revival in Kangaroo Island, South AustraliaDear family & friends in Christ,

1) What a mighty weekend once again of ministering in the Holy Spirit miracle working power of God, as many more precious people were supernaturally healed, delivered and set free by the life transforming grace and love of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in Melbourne (Hallam), Victoria and Kangaroo Island, South Australia!

Pastor Daniel led a team from CTFM to minister at several combined church services on Kangaroo Island on Saturday evening 30th and Sunday morning and evening 31st January. What was most exciting was that the local Uniting church was the host of all of the Holy Spirit revival meetings for the body of Christ and Kingdom of God on Kangaroo Island!

We give all the praise, honour, and glory to our loving Father in heaven for bringing together the body of His Son, from the Uniting, Seventh Day Adventist, Lutheran, Anglican, Baptist and AOG denominations, to lift up the matchless Name above all names, the Lord Jesus Christ!  Some of these churches even cancelled their scheduled Sunday morning services to join in this united move of God’s Holy Spirit and Fire! Truly, this was absolutely incredible, especially in our nation of Australia!

MUSLIMS CONVERTED TO CHRIST IN IRAQ

by Dr. Peter Hammond

General Georges Sada, a former air force fighter pilot who once served as a senior military advisor to Saddam Hussein, is one of thousands of Iraqis who have become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The remarkable testimony of General Sada was passed on to me by a former Frontline Fellowship mission worker, John Michael, who is working as a security advisor in Iraq. John Michael writes: “With all the negative and extremely disturbing violent news coming out of the Middle East, there is good news. Where there is conflict, there needs to be sober examination of our own faith as we are put to the test. Our purpose and meaning to life must be scrutinized. What is overwhelmingly obvious is that those who promote freedom and respect towards others are expressing their own personal faith in the God of the Bible. However, when confronting a religious system that lives for, and thrives on, violent conflict in Jihad with suicidal martyrdom seen as the only assurance of salvation, the question remains – what is the purpose of living? The hope for a peaceful and blessed life is really limited when such an extremely violent death is sought after. This raises some really disturbing questions about such a religious system, which has so little respect for humanity and life in general.”

“Religion can be a curse or a blessing. There is the God who blesses with life in all its abundance, and there is the god who steals, deceives, kills and destroys. It becomes as clear as the day when Elijah confronted the false prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. The power of God was revealed with fire from on high showing who the true God was (1 Kings 18). This spectacular demonstration of God’s power, awe and might is now clearly on display in Iraq for all the world to see who really is the one true God.”

Which Jesus?

Dave Welch – Posted by World Net Daily on January 09, 2010

In the same week, Britt Hume of Fox News had the audacity to evoke the name of Jesus Christ as a means of restoration for Tiger Woods and Pastor Joel Osteen evoked His name in blessing an activist lesbian as she was inaugurated as mayor of his city and while C-Span broadcast it nationwide. The first is being vilified, the second adored.

Are they both talking about the same Jesus? Does Jesus both restore sinners and bless sin? My Bible says very clearly that the first is central to His coming and the second is utterly incompatible.

Exhibit 1: Excerpt from Joel Osteen’s prayer at openly lesbian Mayor Annise Parker’s Inauguration:

… We ask that everything we do would bring honor to you … and we just lift up especially Mayor Annise Parker. … Lord, we thank you just for raising her up and just for your goodness, your mercy in her life, and just for supernatural wisdom, Father. We honor her today and our other officials, and Lord, we count it a joy and honor to be here in your presence with all of our friends and we just thank you for this day. In Jesus name, amen.

Use the Quran to share Christ with Muslim, veteran missionary suggests

By George Henson, Staff Writer – Published: December 31, 2009

ANGLETON—Winning Muslim converts to Christianity is difficult, but veteran missionary Kevin Greeson knows a way—start with the Quran.

Greeson, who has served 16 years with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board working to start Christian movements among Muslims in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal, stressed the importance of spreading the good news of Christ with Muslims.

“The best way to fight terrorism is to share the gospel. And I believe that not because I want to fight terrorism, but because there are lost people,” he explained.

Debating religious tenets with Muslims is a waste of time, Greeson added. Muslims are taught to memorize the Quran in Arabic, not analyze it, he said.

Zambian President: Country Should Maintain Christian Identity

Zambian President Rupiah Bandaby Aimee Herd : Jan 4, 2010 : Dennis May – Christian Post

Zambian President Rupiah Banda said Tuesday that the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation should be retained in the Republican Constitution.

In a speech read at the 18th anniversary celebration of the country’s Christian declaration, Banda said, “It is my passionate desire that my government can access the prosperity which comes from the living God.”

“I am very positive that you, my fellow Zambians, share this belief with me that in this covenant lies the wisdom of God which, if you hold any kingly position like I do as the Republican President of this nation, then you can align with the covenant like King David did,” he said.

“If you are a spiritual leader, you can also align with the covenant like Moses did.”

Banda also said that people should not take Zambia’s peace for granted but rather see it as a gift from God. (more…)

70 million is too many: Immigrant-fuelled population boom will damage society, say leading public figures

By James Slack, Home Affairs Editor – 06th January 2010

Immigration must be urgently curbed to stop the population hitting 70million and causing ‘serious harm’ to society, an alliance of leading public figures demanded yesterday.

The call to action comes in a report signed by a host of respected names, including former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey, ex-Labour speaker Betty Boothroyd and former Tory Party chairman Michael Ancram.

The cross-party group wants manifesto commitments from Labour and the Conservatives to cut net migration to fewer than 40,000 a year – compared to the current rate of 163,000.

This is the reduction to net migration – the number of immigrants arriving in the UK, minus those leaving – needed to stop the population reaching 70million within the next two decades.
