By Sean Poulter and Niall Firth

Bishop Michael Nazir-AliAccusation: Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali claims radical Islam is filling the moral vacuum left by the decline in Christian virtues

The collapse of Christianity has wrecked British society, a leading Church of England bishop declared yesterday.

It has destroyed family life and left the country defenceless against the rise of radical Islam in a moral and spiritual vacuum.

In a lacerating attack on liberal values, the Right Reverend Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, said the country was mired in a doctrine of ‘endless self-indulgence’ that had brought an explosion in public violence and binge-drinking. (more…)

Iranian Leader Ahmadinejad In Rudd’s Sights

By Dennis Shanahan – The Australian

Prime Minister Kevin RuddTHE Rudd Government is preparing a case to take Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the International Court of Justice for “inciting genocide” and denying the Jewish Holocaust.

Australia is the only nation pursuing Iran’s despotic leader, who has threatened to “wipe Israel off the map”, through international laws.

The Australian revealed last October that Kevin Rudd, then the Opposition leader, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejadpromised the Jewish community before last year’s election he would take legal proceedings in the ICJ against Mr Ahmadinejad.

The Labor leader said it was “strongly arguable” that Mr Ahmadinejad’s conduct – statements about wiping Israel off the map, questioning whether Zionists were human beings and a conference that he convened on the veracity of the Holocaust – amounted to incitement to genocide, which was criminalised under the 1948 genocide convention. Iran’s Unprecedented Crackdown On Youth Is Driving Them To Christ

By Teresa Neumann

Sat 7 Work“Viewers have said that SAT-7 PARS is their only source of Christian teaching, training and encouragement. Others have worked with PARS counselors to learn how they can become followers of Christ, so much so, that more counselors were needed this year.”

(Iran)—Mission Network News reports that the length and severity of a crackdown in security targeting thousands of women and youth for violating Sharia law is unprecedented in the Islamic republic in recent years; but the harsh tactics may be having the opposite effect on Iran’s youth says David Harder of SAT-7, a Farsi-language, Christian satellite TV channel. When Muslims Become Christians

Church & Mosque in Jerusalem

There’s a widespread belief that the penalty for leaving Islam is death – hence, perhaps, the killing of a British teacher last week. But Shiraz Maher believes attitudes may be softening.

Ziya Meral’s parents disowned him when he converted from Islam to Christianity.

“They said ‘go away, you’re not our son.’ They told people I died in an accident rather than having the shame of their son leaving Islam.”  (more…)

A German’s Point Of View On Islam.

The commentary below is circulating on the internet and provides an excellent historical context for us to view the current rising tide of militant Islam. Let us not forget George Santayana’s remarkable insight: “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”

A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

‘Very few people were true Nazis ‘he said,’ but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’ (more…)

The Times: Ex-Muslim Takes A Stand Against Islam And Shariah

Maryam Namazie, head of the Council of Ex-Muslims in Britain, says that rights are for individuals, not religions or beliefs.

Maryam Namazie

Picture this, says Maryam Namazie: “A child is swathed in cloth from head to toe every day. Everything but her face and hands are covered for fear that a man might find her attractive. At school she learns that she is worth less than a boy. She is not allowed to dance or swim or feel the sun on her skin or the wind in her hair. This is clearly unacceptable, yet it is accepted when it is done in the name of religion.” (more…)

The Fallacy Of Shared Values

By Janet Levy,

At a time when 40% of young Muslims in the United Kingdom want to impose sharia law on the country and 36% favor executing apostates of Islam, the head of the Church of England called for the selective application of sharia law in Britain in the interest of social cohesion.

On February 7, 2008, Dr. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury and symbolic head of the worldwide Anglican Communion, issued what amounts to a capitulation to the encroachment of Islam and an accommodation to sharia. This Islamic theo-political-legal doctrine assigns second class status to Christians and Jews, utilizes a medieval system of justice that sanctions cruel and unusual punishments and mandates the inequality of women and non-Muslims. Expert: Liberal Christianity Intensifies Radical Islam Threat

Michelle A. Vu, Christian Post Reporter – 7th February, 2008

The Western church’s growing tendency to blur theological differences and not uphold the absolute truth is contributing to the threat of radical Islam to the Western world, said a highly respected expert on Islam.

“When faced with the uniqueness of Christ we become inclusive. He loves everybody so we talk about love, and hell and damnation goes out the window,” said Sookhdeo. “It becomes too embarrassing. So our church has conformed itself according to society.”

Patrick SookhdeoSookhdeo – a former Muslim and advisor to British, American and NATO military officials on jihadist ideology – recently spoke to 1,500 people at Focus on the Family (FOTF)’s headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo, about the threat of radical Islam to the Western world. The event was broadcasted in two parts by FOTF this week, the last part of which aired on Wednesday.

Christians are afraid to admit that only believers in Jesus Christ will be saved and others – Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists – are lost, because that would be arrogance in a society dominated by secular humanist ideology, Sookhdeo argued. (more…)

Barnabas Fund Response to the Archbishop of Canterbury`s recommendation to apply Islamic law in the UK

Copyright © Barnabas Fund – 11th February 2008

UNITED KINGDOM

Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, argued in a lunchtime radio interview on Thursday 7th February that the adoption of Islamic law, shari`a, in Britain is unavoidable. In the evening he gave a lecture at the Royal Courts of Justice (organised by the Temple Church and the Centre of Islamic and Middle East Law at London University`s School of Oriental and African Studies) in which his main argument seemed to be that in a plural multi-faith society the concept of one universal law for all citizens must be adapted to accommodate the reality of other law traditions in minority communities. He elaborated especially on the Muslim community in the UK and on Islamic law, and argued for an accommodation between English law and Islamic law so that either law system could be used for dispute resolution and for marriage, divorce, inheritance and other matters. LONDON, UK (ANS) — Leading British politicians have distanced themselves from the Archbishop of Canterbury’s belief that some Sharia law in the UK seems “unavoidable”.

According to a BBC story, Gordon Brown’s spokesman said the prime minister “believes that British laws should be based on British values”.

The Tories [Conservatives) called the archbishop’s remarks “unhelpful” and the Lib Dems said all must abide by the rule of law.

The BBC reported that Dr Rowan Williams said the UK had to “face up to the fact” some citizens do not relate to the British legal system.

He said adopting parts of Islamic Sharia law could help social cohesion. (more…)
