Violence Against Christians STOP In India!!!

Dear Family and Friends in Christ,

Pastor Danny NalliahFirstly we thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then all in Australia and overseas who responded to the “PRAYER and ACTION call” regarding the problem in Orissa, India where Christians were facing severe persecution. Well, all glory goes to our faithful, Jehovah Jireh – your prayer and action has certainly paid off!

In the past few days we have been receiving reports of so many who had contacted the Indian Embassy in Australia and we know many other countries have also lobbied against the above issue. I have also been in touch with my counter-parts in the United States, who did a lot of work through Capitol Hill and the US State Department. (more…)

As we speak, ICC has 2 representatives inside Orissa. One will be distributing emergency aid to devastated Christians and the other is investigating/recording the ongoing tragedy. (more…)

EXCLUSIVE: Al Qaeda Targets Leading Arab Evangelist Operating In The U.S. For Preaching The Gospel To Muslims

By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C.) You have probably never heard of Father Zakaria Botros.

But you need to know his story. He is far and away the most-watched and most-effective Arab-American evangelist focused on reaching the Muslim world, and by far the most controversial. The Rush Limbaugh of the Revivalists, he is funny, feisty, brilliant, opinionated, and provocative. But rather than preaching the gospel of conservatism, he is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. And his enemies do not simply want to silence him. They want to assassinate him.

Last week, I had the honor of interviewing Botros by phone from a secure, undisclosed location in the United States, where he now resides. He told me that he had just learned that an al Qaeda website had posted his photograph and named him one of the “most wanted” infidels in the world. The Radicals have even put a bounty on his head. The Christian Broadcasting Network reported the figure was as high as $60 million. Botros does not know for certain. But just to put that in context, the U.S. bounty on Osama bin Laden’s head is “only” $25 million. (more…)

Persecution And Systematic Destruction Of Christians In The Middle East Must Be Stopped!

By Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein

War On Jihad

Iranian FlagAn Islamic court in Shiraz, Iran , has just convicted two men of being infidels. Their crime? Converting to Christianity. The possible sentence? Death. Not too far away in Saudi Arabia, an outraged father recently hacked his own daughter to death for the same “abomination.”

In the daily drumbeat of Mideast news, there is one story of historic proportion that goes nearly unreported: the persecution and systematic destruction in the Islamic world of some of the world’s oldest Christian communities.

Sure, we hear when a Catholic bishop is murdered in Iraq, when machete-armed fanatics attack Egyptian Copt worshipers, or when churches are torched in Hamas-controlled Gaza. (more…)

A priest who was at the orphanage was also badly hurt and is now being treated in hospital for multiple burns.

Another nun from Bubaneshwar’s Social Centre was gang raped by groups of Hindu extremists before the building housing the facility was set on fire. Sources also told AsiaNews that elsewhere one priest was wounded and two other were abducted. The list of violent anti-Christian acts is thus getting longer. (more…)

Interfaith Hypocrisy

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,

King AbdullahWhile Australia is hosting the Interfaith Parliament of World Religions in Melbourne during December 2009, Saudi Arabia is playing the double game and taking the Western world for a ride! (read the following article) As Bible-believing God fearing Christians in Australia, we should be ashamed of spokesmen such as Tim Costello (the head of World Vision) for being one of the main promoters of this deceptive event in addition to other Christian leaders who support this ‘Interfaith Hypocrisy’ and refuse to speak out against it to protect their own self image and reputation. They are the ones who sell our Christian heritage and compromise the absolute truth of the Word of God and the Cross of Christ! (more…)

Korean President Lee Is Seen As A Man Of Faith

By Dan Wooding: Assist News/Baptist Press

Korean PresidentHe has been encouraged to have a time of prayer with President Bush and Laura Bush at their summit.

“Some say it is a new day in South Korea. After a landslide election in November, Myung-Bak Lee was sworn into office on February 19.”

So wrote Ann Lovell, a media worker based in Seoul with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in a story for Baptist Press. She continued, “This has been good news for many of South Korea’s Christian leaders since Lee also is a member of the 70,000 member Somang Presbyterian Church in Seoul. One of the president’s chief advocates is Billy Kim, president of South Korea’s Far East Broadcasting Company and pastor of Suwon Central Baptist Church from 1960-2004. Kim, a former Baptist World Alliance president regarded as one of the world’s most influential Christian leaders, first earned international attention when he served as an interpreter for the 1973 Billy Graham crusade. The ‘Changing’ Evangelical Movement?

By, Ken Connor, Christian Post        Sat. March 8th, 2008

Ken ConnorPundits love to put their subjects into tidy little boxes—it makes their talking points easier. After all, people in little boxes are not complicated or nuanced. No doubt that’s why the media has long tried to put evangelicals into a box. The problem, however, is that the media has been using the wrong box for evangelicals for decades.

Ever since the rise of the Moral Majority, the media has been labeling evangelicals “values voters.” The assumption has been that evangelicals are concerned with a limited set of values, that they always act on the basis of those limited values, and that they are, therefore, less complicated or sophisticated than the rest of society.
