Babies know the difference between good and evil at six months, study reveals

By Teresa Neumann Breaking Christian News
per David Derbyshire Daily Mail 10th May 2010

“You can see glimmers of moral thought, moral judgment and moral feeling even in the first year of life.
Some sense of good and evil seems to be bred in the bones.”  In a stunning scientific report, researchers are admitting that by six months of age babies have a moral code and can tell between good and evil, effectively challenging the “blank slate” theory of human morality so long espoused by science.
Calling the series of experiments “astonishing,” the Daily Mail reports that psychologists now suggest the understanding of what is right and wrong may be “hardwired” into the brain at birth after all.

But, according to psychologists, they have already developed a sense of moral code – and can tell the difference between good and evil.

An astonishing series of experiments is challenging the views of many psychologists and social scientists that human beings are born as ‘blank slates’ – and that our morality is shaped by our parents and experiences.

Leading research: Professor Paul Bloom, of Yale University, said a series of morality tales featuring puppets were shown to babies of varying ages

Professor Paul Bloom, a psychologist at Yale University in Connecticut, whose department has studied morality in babies for years, said: ‘A growing body of evidence suggests that humans do have a rudimentary moral sense from the very start of life.

‘With the help of well designed experiments, you can see glimmers of moral thought, moral judgment and moral feeling even in the first year of life.

‘Some sense of good and evil seems to be bred in the bones.’ (more…)

CTFM Israel mission report part 3 / Woman raised from the dead / by Pastor Daniel

Diana with Dr Murray and Geraldine of CTFM in Hospital Dear family & friends in Christ,

I am sure this part 3 report of God’s mighty power at work right in the Nation of Israel will greatly bless and encourage you to know that we serve a God of miracles!

On the last day of our tour in Israel we all boarded the 2 buses and started on our journey to cross the border into Jordan to visit mount Nebo before proceeding to the Amman Airport for our flights the same day.

In my bus was a lady by the name of Diana from Wagga Wagga in NSW, which is 4 hours from Melbourne, Australia, who had joined us on the tour. Also in the same bus was a Doctor by the name of Murray from Western Australia.

All seemed normal, except for the fact that we were sad to leave Israel, so as usual we started worshipping and singing praises to God. I was seated at the front of the bus as I was using the microphone to lead the people in worship.

While we were driving we were also talking about how great it was to visit the tombs of Lazarus and Jesus, as they were both raised from the dead in Israel over two thousand years ago. Suddenly I heard some shouting in the bus. At first I did not take much notice, but then my wife shouted out, “Danny, Danny come here.” She had just noticed something that she had seen a few times in ministry before.

Jesus Christ Television continues to broadcast the Good News to Pakistan

Thursday, May 6, 2010 By Dan Wooding Founder of ASSIST Ministries

Jesus Christ Television has just celebrated its sixth anniversary.
Called Jesus Christ Television (JCTV), it is based in Lahore and run by Pastor Javed Rauf, its managing director. He is also the general secretary of the River of God Ministry which is also based in Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan after Karachi. On Sunday, April 18, 2010, Jesus Christ Television celebrated in Lahore its 6th Anniversary which was attended by more than 1,500 people attended by Pakistani Christian ministry heads, Christian celebrities, artists, writers, journalists, pastors and musicians.

Pastor Rauf, founder of JCTV, has endured persecution for his vision of Christian television in Pakistan, but he is undaunted.

“I am thankful to God for the day God opened the door for media ministry in Pakistan through Jesus Christ Television,” he says in a story carried by www.nrb.org.

A couple of years ago, I caught up with Pastor Rauf in Seoul, Korea and, in an interview, he first explained how the TV channel came about.

“The River of God Ministry has been working in Pakistan for many years now and we are doing a great work over there arranging lots of crusades, conventions and seminars,” said Pastor Rauf.

“God gave our ministry a vision to start television in Pakistan and so in 2004, we started Jesus Christ Television (more…)

Tony Perkins: I see ‘hostility’ toward Christianity

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council,Family Research Council chief confirms ‘politically correct’ options diminishing
April 27, 2010 - By Michael Carl © 2010 WorldNetDaily
“We see a federal judge who’s been on the bench since Jimmy Carter appointed her. She’s not a new judge. This is a judge who’s been around for quite some time. And she decides all of a sudden that the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional. So I do think what we’re seeing is an environment that is hostile to Christianity,” Perkins said.

He also said what is happening now parallels America’s past.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council says he sees more and more limits being placed on what is “politically correct” for Christians to do.

“I see an environment being created that is hostile to Christianity,” he said. “Two months ago, I was disinvited to speak at Andrews Air Force Base. Just last week … Franklin Graham [was] disinvited to pray at the Pentagon on the National Day of Prayer.”

He said that “shows that this isn’t about political activity. It’s not about public policy positions. It really comes down to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” (more…)

The Orwellian logic that’s turning the faith Britain was built on into a crime

Dale McAlpine was hauled to court after telling a gay police community support officer he thought homosexuality was a sinBy Melanie Phillips – 3rd May 2010

Terrifying as this may seem, the attempt to stamp out Christianity in Britain appears to be gathering pace.

Dale Mcalpine was preaching to shoppers in Workington, Cumbria, that homosexuality is a sin when he found himself carted off by the police, locked up in a cell for seven hours and charged with using abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

It appears that two police community support officers – at least one of whom was gay – claimed he had caused distress to themselves and members of the public.

Under our anti-discrimination laws, such distress is not to be permitted.

Dale McAlpine was hauled to court after telling a gay police community support officer he thought homosexuality was a sin.

And so we have the oppressive and sinister situation where a gentle, unaggressive Christian is arrested and charged simply for preaching Christian principles.

It would appear that Christianity, the normative faith of this country on which its morality, values and civilisation are based, is effectively being turned into a crime. (more…)

Another baby saved through Options + Care (and from a Muslim family)

Pastor Daniel with another baby saved through Options Plus CareDear friends and family in Christ,

1) All glory to God!  Another baby has been saved through Options Plus Care Pregnancy crisis counselling division of Catch The Fire Ministries.  We thank God that after the re-launch of this ministry a few months ago, there has been a flood of inquiries for help, support and ministry.

We praise God for every opportunity He gives us to proclaim the good news of the Gospel and carry out the mandate God gave Pastor Daniel, which is: “To Save A Life and Save A Soul”

I was so thrilled when I received a call asking for help regarding a young woman who was pregnant.   I visited the home on several occasions, and then found out that they were Muslims.   I was so very excited that God had taken me into their lives as a light.   I soon realised that this young mum to be and her mother both needed our help, as there was no real male figure in the house.

Praise God for His wonderful grace and counsel through the Holy Spirit, which enabled this young girl to give birth to a very healthy baby boy on Monday the 17th of May.   They now call us their family and I know that before long they will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Pastor Daniel visited the family in hospital within 24 hours of the birth.   They were so happy to see him and this is such a miracle,  a Muslim family so excited to see a Christian Minister. (more…)

Special message to all Mothers from Pr Daniel

Happy Mother\'s DayDear Mothers all over the World,

I want to first thank my mother for praying me into the Kingdom of God. She is now in her late 70’s and is a mighty prayer warrior for Jesus. I look forward to seeing her next month in Sri Lanka.

I also want to thank my beautiful wife for being such a great mum to our children. I thank God everyday for her.

I also want to thank all you wonderful mums for your prayers, faithfulness, and all the hard work you put in as a mum’s work never ends. It seems like a mum starts her work early in the morning and go on all day until its very late and time for bed. Very often we forget to see all the pain and suffering that many mums are going through. I know many Dads go through the same, but this is Mother’s Day.

So we just want to say “WE LOVE YOU MUMS, YOU ARE SO SPECIAL!”

May God bless you abundantly and give you the desires of your heart!

Following is an interesting article that I hope you like about ‘A Mother’s Love: Priceless’

Many Blessings/ Pr Daniel

National Day of Prayer in America – 6th May 2010

Franklin GrahamMay 5, 2010 – Read all the articles below covering Franklin Graham’s journey as the 2010 Honorary Chairman of the National Day of Prayer.

Invited or not, I’ll stand in front of the Pentagon and pray.

Even if President Obama fails to intervene to allow him to lead a National Day of Prayer event at the Pentagon Thursday, Franklin Graham will still be there— praying for the U.S. military and his own son who is serving in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon had invited the National Day of Prayer Task Force, of which Graham is 2010 honorary chairman, to lead an official prayer service on site, but later rescinded its invitation after various groups protested.

Graham told USA TODAY that when President Obama visited his father, Billy, last month, the younger Graham asked the president to intercede with the Pentagon to restore his invitation. He said Obama replied that he would “look into it.”

Invitation or not, Graham vows to pray for the military tomorrow. He also will be leading prayer at the national observance in the Canon Office Building, and a later event on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

Son of Hamas Founder Shares Faith Journey, Reveals He Spied for Israel in New Book

Son of Hamas Founder now following Christ02 March 2010 – Ken Walker – Featured News Charisma Online

The son of a Hamas founder whose Christian conversion made international headlines released the complete story of his faith journey Tuesday in a memoir brimming with spy-novel-like drama.

Son of Hamas by Mosab Hassan Yousef details a six-year-long conversion process that originated with a Bible study in Jerusalem and resulted in his departure from the Islamic terrorist organization. He was baptized in 2005 near Tel Aviv in a ceremony performed by a San Diego woman visiting the church that Yousef attended.

The 31-year-old says his faith has sustained him ever since, particularly since leaving his homeland in 2007. The pain of separation is better understood when one reads his account of the lifelong, close-knit ties forged by Palestinian families.

“Whenever I compare my pain to [Christ’s], I forget my pain,” said Yousef, who lives on the West Coast.

“When I feel alone in this journey, I know that He feels with me because He went through much worse. Every step I get closer to the cross I learn more about His sacrifice and pain, which absolutely makes me forget about my pain.” (more…)

Report on Options Plus Care Orientation Day – Pregnancy Crisis Counselling

Counsellors watching a live ultrasoundCounsellors at Options Plus Care Orientation Dear family & friends in Christ,

Around 100,000 babies are aborted every year in Australia.

We at CTFM thank the Lord for every single person who has been working tirelessly to reduce this number and we continue to pray against the legalisation and practice of abortion.

No one thought that the slave trade would stop, but thanks to William Wilberforce and others it did. So too, we pray the same regarding the ending of abortion.

I know we all need to pray and lobby our politicians, but what is equally important is to help these people not to have an abortion through counselling and supporting them. Yes, this is what Options + Care is all about. Even if someone decides to have an abortion after counselling, we will continue to love and help them as much as possible.

Thank you so much for your prayer and practical support as the Options + Care Orientation Day on 17th April was a great success. Pas Daniel shared the vision that God gave him in 1998 while he was in the USA to be a Voice for the Voiceless. Sister Geraldine, the coordinator for O+C , shared her heart and passion to save the next generation of children in Australia. Then the team watched a very challenging DVD titled ‘After The Choice’ that included a group of women talking about what happened after their abortions. There was not a dry eye in the place as everyone watched these ladies share how they all suffered in silence for many years and pleaded with others not to have an abortion. (more…)

God’s definition of ‘family’

by Greg Laurie – March 13, 2010

In my last column, I made a case for a biblical worldview, based on the watershed truth that there is a living God, and He has revealed Himself in Scripture.

With this in mind, we can ready ourselves to discuss some of the more controversial, “hot-button” issues in our culture today.

Going back to the Ten Commandments, you may remember that this list of 10 can be divided into two sections. The first four commands deal with man’s relationship with God, and the second six speak to man’s relationship with man. It is that second grouping of commandments in Exodus 20 that will speak most clearly to our “hot button” issues.

Verse 12: “Honor your father and mother …”

Isn’t it interesting … before a word is spoken about how to treat others, God starts with the family. (more…)

Options Plus Care Orientation Day Saturday 17 April in Melbourne / Pregnancy Counselling Service of CTFM

Pastor Daniel and baby saved through Options Plus Care Pregnancy Counseling

Dear family & friends in Christ,

In 1998 God birthed in Pr Daniel’s heart to start the Options + Care Pregnancy Counselling Centre in Australia.

He challenged him with the following words, “Will you be a Voice for the Voiceless?”

The motto of this ministry is ‘Save A Life and Save A Soul!’

We have seen many babies saved through O + C over the past 12 years.  Now that God has provided us with a much needed Ultra-Sound machine, we believe that this is a new season to see more babies saved!

We believe even as we continue to pray for abortions to become illegal in Australia, we also need to act in order to save the next generation of Aussie’s in our nation.

Following is a opportunity for you to become a part of this great ministry serving the Body of Christ and local communities across our nation.

Options Plus Care (Pregnancy Counselling Service) – Orientation Day, Saturday April 17th, 2010 -  10.30am to 12.00pm at CTFM Base, 23 Melverton Dr, Hallam.
