When Perfect Pastors Divorce

Pastor invloved in adulteryCharisma Magazine – Tuesday, 13 October 2009 – Tamara Lowe

Pastor Jack (not his real name) stood before his congregation in tears. He said, “I have to confess that I have been involved in an extramarital affair. Effective today I am resigning as the senior pastor of this church. I’m sorry.” The congregation sat in shocked silence. Many wept.

I never saw it coming. Just a week earlier I had taken the pastor’s beautiful wife, Angela, out to lunch. She acted as if she didn’t have a problem in the world. Everything was great. I asked her, “How did you meet Jack?” Her answer is still vivid in my mind.

Victory for Life: Director of a Planned Parenthood Clinic Resigns after Watching Abortion Ultrasound

by Kathleen Gilbert: Nov 4, 2009: LifeSiteNews.com

“This is by far the most amazing thing that has happened to the Coalition for Life throughout its entire history…we thank God!”

Abby Johnson(Bryan, Texas)—The director of the Texas Planned Parenthood abortion mill, where the 40 Days for Life campaign began, has resigned saying she experienced a conversion after watching an ultrasound video of a child being killed by abortion.

“I just thought, ‘I can’t do this anymore,’ and it was just like a flash that hit me and I thought, ‘that’s it,'” said Abby Johnson in an interview with local news network KBTX 3.

Johnson had been affiliated with Bryan’s Planned Parenthood facility for eight years, and worked as its director for two. She said she began to feel uncomfortable with Planned Parenthood’s business philosophy after the organization, suffering from the economic downturn, told her to try to bring more abortions in the door. “The money wasn’t in family planning, the money wasn’t in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem with that,” said Johnson.

But the turning point for Johnson was reportedly when she witnessed an actual ultrasound image of an abortion being performed on an unborn child.

Australia’s Population Booms

Carolyn Moynihan | 30 Sep 2009 |

Last week, as the Australian Bureau of Statistics announced a 2 per cent leap (439,000 people) in the country’s population in the year to March, a huge dust storm blew in from the arid interior to blanket much of Eastern Australia. Are the two things connected?

Green groups would probably say, yes. Others, maybe. “Dust storms are a natural phenomenon, but they are influenced by human activities and are now just as serious as traffic and industrial air pollution,” says Laurence Barrie, chief researcher at the World Meteorological Organisation in Geneva, which is working with 40 countries to develop a dust storm warning system.

Most of the recent population increase — almost 300,000 people — was from immigration. But the birth rate is up, too, with 160,000 babies born during the year. On that basis Australia’s population could “balloon” form its present 21.8 million to 35 million over the next 40 years.

A Great Weekend Of Excitement, Fellowship & Powerful Worship

CTFM team and their families at Pastor Daniel\'s homeDear family & friends in Christ,

The weekend gone by was a great weekend of fun, fellowship and absolutely amazing worship in the Spirit of God!

As many deceived people in the world and naive children walked the streets collecting sweets to celebrate Halloween on Saturday 31st October, a pagan festival giving glory to the devil, the Holy Spirit of God powerfully showed up at the Catch the Fire meetings in Melbourne!

On Saturday around 80 people from the Catch the Fire Ministry team joined with Pastor Daniel and his family to celebrate his belated birthday lunch at his home. It was certainly a great time of fun, delicious food and fellowship!

As many gathered over the weekend on Friday & Sunday nights, the fire of the Holy Spirit fell in the house of God, sweeping through the crowd as worshippers pressed into the manifest presence of God through prophetic praise, worship, prayer and intercession for Australia and the nations of the world! YONGGI CHO’S FINAL SERMON? (Reflections on the Weasel Talk, Twigs and Twits Tragedy)

Written by Dr Robert McQuillan of Life Focus, (former AOG National Publications Director in Australia)

We were disgusted recently to learn of some pastors referring to seniors – senior ministries and parents – as ‘twigs.’ Some young people were even being advised not to listen to their parents because they’re past it, don’t know what they’re talking about. As for ‘older’ ministers, they too are over the hill, not with it and passed their ‘use by’ date!

This is ’weasel talk’ (unjustifiable, unprovable statements)! It is not only discourteous but a seriously wrong presumption and a gross ignoring of the need in these troubled days not to forsake the wisdom of the ‘elders – the experienced fathers and mothers – in Israel.’ (more…)

Anti-Abortion March / More Holy Spirit Fire in Melbourne

March for Babies Dear family & friends in Christ,Anti-Abortion Rally at Victorian Parliament

We wish to thank all the Catch the Fire supporters in addition to the many other pro-life participants from many Christian churches, ministries, denominations, social and political organizations, for coming out on Saturday the 10th of October to march in solidarity through the streets of Melbourne in support of the unborn and to raise a voice for the voiceless in Australia!

The ‘March for the Babies’ was a great success with some estimates of several thousand people marching and then attending the public rally outside the Victorian State Parliament building. We want to especially applaud the organisers for doing a fantastic job and of course we thank the Father in heaven for blessing us with a beautiful sunny day with bright blue skies!

A few state politicians and the other speakers at the rally spoke very well in making a clear stand that the voice will not go away to protect the unborn.  The Pro-Life movement will continue to fight to overturn the ‘De-criminalization of Abortion Law’ which was passed one year ago in Victoria.

Taking Jesus To The Fringes: The Fatherless Generation

Ministering to youth on the streets

Friday, 28 August 2009 Ed Donnally News – Featured News

It’s 11:30 p.m. and a Hope for Homeless Youth (HHY) ministry team gathers on Hollywood’s teeming Walk of Fame for its regular Friday outreach. They’ll pass out food and ministry information, witness to hundreds, and invite each young person to return and enter their one-year discipleship program. As usual, Director Clayton Golliher will sleep in a nearby parking lot, his sleeping bag a few feet from several dozen homeless youth.

“They’re a product of the breakup of the American family,” he says. “More of them are throwaway than runaway. Some love the freedom, but most have been abused and rejected.”

Experts estimate 1.5 million youth live on our nation’s streets; each year 5,000 will die of suicide, homicide and accidental drug overdose, and at least 40 percent are not wanted at home. One in four will visit Hollywood.

What I Learned From The Fathers

Spiritual Fathers in the Lord Jesus ChristArticle by Dave Buehring appeared in Charisma Magazine

Our spiritual fathers have much to offer us from their years of walking with God. Here’s what I learned recently from Jack Hayford, John Perkins, Lloyd Ogilvie, Loren Cunningham, Henry Blackaby and Winkie Pratney.

In the days of the early church, the apostle Paul stressed the importance to believers of having a leader, or “father,” they could learn from. He wrote to the Corinthians: “For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me.” (1 Cor. 4:15-16, NKJV).

It is no different today. Those who are young in the faith need leaders to imitate, and those who are more mature must seek to live worthy of imitation, to be leaders who understand the responsibility and foundation of healthy church leadership. (more…)

Pastor Daniel Nalliah Wins Annual Top Gong At Ernie Awards

Pastor Daniel Nalliah speaking out for Pro-LifeDear family & friends in Christ,

It is reported that Martin Luther once said something along the lines of, ‘Do not worry about what either people or the media says, both good and bad publicity is always good for the cause.’

Over the last few days, you have possibly read newspaper articles on many major media outlets across Australia regarding Pas Daniel winning the annual top gong at Ernie Awards for sexist comment of the year. Of course it’s not a surprise that when you stand for Jesus, His kingdom, righteousness, justice and truth, you be increasingly attacked by Satan and his cohorts. However, how you handle it is what’s most important.

When Pas Daniel heard about the award on Thursday 1st October, he cracked up laughing in the office and shouted, “Glory to God, more publicity for the Kingdom of God. When God starts to move, He is setting the stage for His prophetic word of Healing, Deliverance and Salvation to spread like wild fire through these same media outlets. God is up to something very big, so I am very, very excited. Bring it on mate!!!”

In Europe An Octopus Now Has More Rights Than An Unborn Baby

What do you call a continent which cares more about the rights and wellbeing of crabs, lobsters, and even the common octopus, than it does about unborn babies? Just in case you cannot come up with anything, let me suggest a few possibilities: deranged, degenerate, despicable and delirious. And just to keep the alliteration going: dumb, really dumb.

This is how the New Scientist begins its coverage of this bizarre story: “Animal welfare legislation generally applies only to vertebrates. There are, however, moves to include invertebrates. Proposed changes to European law, for example, would extend welfare laws to crabs and lobsters. Up to now the only invertebrate protected is the common octopus.

“‘Invertebrate rights’ has become a campaigning issue. Advocates for Animals recently produced a report which concludes that there is ‘potential for experiencing pain and suffering’ in crustaceans. The group is particularly concerned about boiling lobsters alive. The wider public is also showing interest. Research supposedly demonstrating that hermit crabs feel and remember pain received worldwide news coverage” (more…)

Atheist Father’s Prayers Answered; Now He’s “Considering Going To Church And Being A Believer”

Ava IsabellaBy Teresa NeumannBreaking Christian News

“I was an atheist. Now I’m considering going to church and being a believer. There’s got to be someone up there who’s saving our little daughter.”

(Buffalo, NY)—Miracle baby, one-week-old Ava Isabella Stinson weighs only 2 pounds 4 ounces, but the tiny tike is already changing the lives of the people around her. Like her parents, Natalie Paquette and Richard Stinson.

It all started when Natalie went into labor three months before her due date and found there was “no room at the Inn” for hospital care for the premature Ava in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, where a shortage of neonatal beds is an ongoing problem. (more…)

Father Knows Best

Father Knows BestLorie CokaCharisma Channels

Not to sound cliché, but when I was 28 I finally had come to realize that fathers really do know best. Now before you start thinking 1950s TV show here, let me explain.

Years ago when I decided to move out of my parents’ home into an apartment, I was overwhelmed with the choices out there. I researched for weeks and drove to at least 10 different apartment complexes to check them out.

But I grew discouraged. All the apartments I looked at were unacceptable for some reason. They were too expensive or in the wrong location or didn’t have the amenities I needed. I had begun to think there wasn’t an apartment out there for me.

But one day I discovered a place that fit my price range and most of what I was looking for, so I figured it must be the Lord’s answer for me. The upkeep wasn’t great, and the apartments were kind of jammed in on a small piece of property, but I thought it would do.

However, I decided that before I signed a lease, I would take my dad to see it. It had to pass the “dad” test. As we drove around the complex and then went into the model apartment, I could tell he was not impressed. (more…)

Support For Same-Sex Marriage Plummets

Support For Same-Sex Marriage PlummetsBy Nima Reza

New poll finds only 33 percent of Americans favor, a 9-point drop since April

The number of Americans who support same-sex marriage has plunged over the last few months, according to a new poll.

The CBS News/New York Times study found that 33 percent of respondents favor same-sex marriage. That represents a 9 percent drop since April.

Everett Rice, legislative coordinator for the California Family Council, said he has a theory about the decrease.

“People really recognize their core and their values, their heritage,” he said. “When people want to go in and redefine that, it really goes against everybody’s individual cultural understanding.” (more…)
