Gay ‘marriage’ bill will dissolve the glue holding society together: former Archbishop of Canterbury

by Hilary White – Apr 02, 2013

LONDON, April 2, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Gay “marriage” has little to do with “equality,” being in reality the result of “an aggressive secularist and relativist” mindset that intends to abolish the very foundations of western societies, according to George Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury. The result, he said, will be the “alienation of a large minority of people who only a few years ago would have been considered pillars of society.”

Lord Carey said in an op-ed in the Daily Mail over the Easter weekend that it is “a bit rich” to hear Prime Minister David Cameron call upon Christians to “stand up and oppose aggressive secularisation” when it is he who is doing the most to push that agenda forward. Carey cited a ComRes poll that found more than two-thirds of Christians in Britain believe they are becoming a “persecuted minority”.

While such beliefs may be premature, he said, “the Prime Minister has done more than any other recent political leader to feed these anxieties.”

“I am very suspicious that behind the plans to change the nature of marriage,” Carey wrote, “…there lurks an aggressive secularist and relativist approach towards an institution that has glued society together for time immemorial.”

No more gay adoptions of Russian children: Putin

by Hilary White – Apr 02, 2013

MOSCOW, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Homosexual couples from abroad will not be allowed to adopt Russian children under new rules backed by President Vladimir Putin. The move follows the implementation of a new law on January 1st preventing adoption of Russian children by American couples.

Putin has asked for amendments to be drafted to the current adoption laws by the Ministry of Education and Science and Supreme Court, Izvestia newspaper reports. The draft legislation is expected by July 1st.

The move is supported by children’s rights commissioner Pavel Astakhov who recently said he would do all he could to prevent Russian children being adopted by same-sex partners. Commenting on plans by the French Socialist government to institute “gay marriage,” Astakhov said that allowing Russian children to be adopted by homosexuals would be “unconstitutional”.

Controversy has been stirred in Russia over the impending “gay marriage” laws in Britain and France, with Foreign Ministry official Konstantin Dolgov saying that the changes “narrow the chances” of adoptions to be considered from those countries.

Very Successful RUAP Western Australia Campaign

Dear family & friends in Christ,

From Thursday 4th to Monday 8th April, Pr Daniel, along with Jane Foreman, the Rise Up Australia Party lead Senate Candidate for WA, campaigned in several locations in WA. He also preached at 2 different churches on Sunday.

The meetings were well attended in Geraldton, Bunbury, Mandurah & Perth (in 3 cities). The people responded with great excitement and many joined the party at the ten meetings where they spoke. The Geraldton and Bunbury newspapers published very good articles before the meetings.

Pr Daniel and Jane were interviewed by Howard Sattler on 6PR Radio, a very popular Talk Back Radio Station in WA. Pr Daniel was expected to debate a Muslim youth leader who didn’t show up, who was then to be replaced by an Islamic professor, who also didn’t show up.  Neither were contactable. This gave 30 minutes of airtime to promote Rise Up Australia Party, including the well-known radio host, who even promoted the details of the campaign meetings in all locations in WA.

We thank God for the amazing media favour we have been receiving ever since RUAP official launch on 11th February 2013 at the National Press Club in Canberra.

The Sunday services in Mandurah & Perth were absolutely wonderful as the mighty presence and power of the Holy Spirit touched many!

Gay Rights Activists Can’t Put the Church in the Closet

1/28/2013 Michael Brown

There are many people today who despise conservative religious beliefs, but they are quick to say, “We don’t want to restrict your religious freedoms in any way. Just keep your beliefs in the church.” What they fail to realize is that the church is not a closet, and it is our private beliefs that fuel our public acts. Shouldn’t it be this way?

President Obama claims that it was conversations he had with his daughters, coupled with his interpretation of the teaching of Jesus, that caused him to take a public stand for same-sex “marriage” last May. Did his supporters criticize him for bringing his private beliefs into the public square? (If anyone could be criticized for this, it is the President of the United States, because of his massive powers and influence.)

When gay clergy fought for the redefinition of marriage in their respective states, based on their religious beliefs, were they faulted for this? Did the secular media vilify them for violating the separation of Church and State?

Just a few days ago, Sen. Dianne Feinstein opened up her anti-gun press conference by inviting Rev. Canon Gary Hall, the gay-affirming Dean of the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, to offer up a prayer. As reported by the Washington Examiner, “Hall spoke briefly before the prayer, calling for Washington lawmakers to stop fearing the gun lobby and fulfill their ‘moral duty’ to restrict guns.

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson’s Politically Incorrect Speech at Prayer Breakfast a YouTube Sensation

By Leonardo Blair , CP Contributor – February 11, 2013

Dr. Benjamin Carson, Gifted Hands author and director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., brought an audience of dignitaries, including President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle, to their feet last Thursday after dishing a speech packed with parables, wit, biblical scriptures and punch at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. Now, it’s resounding with everyday Americans, too.

The doctor’s 25-minute speech displayed a “logical” and “common-sense” approach to issues like freedom of speech, education, taxation, the national debt and spirituality, and has already captured more than a million hits on YouTube and elicited headlines and calls like the Wall Street Journal’s “Ben Carson for President.”

“Smart man! Put him in the White House,” agreed Mary Ledet on Monday in her comments posted on the video of Carson’s speech, which was uploaded to YouTube on Thursday.

“LOL! I absolutely love how Ms. Obama was applauding at the end of the speech. I really don’t think she realized how much of what Dr. Carson said was in direct CONFLICT of everything her husband is doing to this country,” noted another commenter under the screen identified as 4stripguy. “I actually think she enjoyed and even agreed with much of what Dr. Carson said for if one does not, one wouldn’t applaud as hard…” the commenter continued.

Faith-based groups like the Pennsylvania Pastors’ Network also gave Carson’s remarks their blessings on Monday.

“Dr. Carson verbalized sentiments felt but rarely voiced by a strong majority of American Christians who are committed to living according to the commands of scripture,” said Sam Rohrer, president of the Pennsylvania Pastors’ Network, in a statement. “Tenets like personal responsibility, moral uprightness, and fiscal restraint are not just smart politics; they are also biblically and constitutionally sound and the basis for America’s success since its inception,” he noted.

WHAT AN ORPHAN CAN TEACH

By Mary Hutchinson , CP Guest Contributor – February 13, 2013

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinner, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the Law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.” (Ps. 1:1-2)

At 11-years-old, Su Su Thtwe knows more about walking in the counsel of the godly than most people her age do. She knows more about it, even, than some adults.

Every night, Su Su sleeps on the dusty concrete floor of a church in Myanmar. Given away by her mother, and then by her sister, she has nowhere else to go. The only things she can call her own are a little pink dress and a school uniform. But Su Su is happy. She delights in being raised in a Christian ‘home.’

The youngest of six children, Su Su was born in Kywe Lan Village, Myanmar, a small village of bamboo huts, located 3 ½ hours from the nearest major city, Yangon. Her parents struggled to care for the children and an elderly relative, and when Su Su’s father died, her mother gave up.

By then Su Su’s older siblings had married and moved on, leaving Su Su alone. Her mother didn’t want to deal with her, and asked Su Su’s sister, who had two children of her own, to take her in. For almost three years, she lived with her sister in another bamboo hut nearby. (more…)

KINGDOM LEADERSHIP vs. CHURCH LEADERSHIP

Joseph Mattera

There is presently a revolution taking place among those on the leading edge of change in the evangelical church. The result is a transition from a church mindset to a kingdom mindset in which the walls of church buildings are no longer able to contain the raw creative energy of Christ-followers who are committed to preaching and applying the Gospel of the Kingdom to all the world, including its systems and structures.

As political solutions and big government attempts to heal our land fail miserably, more people will look to faith-based partnerships and churches to find solutions. Hence the irrelevancy of old church patterns and traditions will become more noticeable in the decades to come.

Consequently, it behooves us to continue to study the contrasts between leading-edge kingdom practices and old, irrelevant religious church patterns that have failed to effectively evangelize and transform communities with the gospel.

The following is a contrast between leaders with a kingdom mindset and those with a church mindset.

I. Kingdom leaders interpret Matthew 28:19-20 as referring to discipling all nations. Church leaders believe it only refers to all individual ethnic peoples.

The body of Christ is now re-thinking the Great Commission scriptures of Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19-20. Instead of viewing them as commands to merely evangelize individual souls, now many are viewing the command in Mark 16 to ‘go into all the world and preach’ as a command to apply the gospel to both individual sinners and world systems. Matthew 28:19-20 is now regarded as the New Testament equivalent to the Cultural Mandate found in Genesis 1:28.

Live Webcast of Good Friday & Easter weekend at CTFM / Healing Testimony / Pray for Ev Jason & Pr Gary on Asia mission trip

Dear friends & family in Christ,

1) We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be live webcasting our very special Good Friday service at 10am on 29th March & Easter Resurrection Sunday 9:30am service on 31st March. (Australian Eastern Standard Time -AEST).

Pr Daniel will be ministering God’s prophetic Word and praying for people at all of these special services and also our Easter Resurrection Sunday 6:30pm service at CTFM at 23 Melverton Dr Hallam, as we celebrate the sacrificial death and victorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

 2) Following is a wonderful testimony of God’s love, faithfulness and goodness that we recently received from a CTFM supporter.

“In March 2012 (at Jackie’s 40th Birthday party), my husband, Niro & I shared with you our desire to fall pregnant and have a healthy baby. We told you that for as long as I (Gail) could remember my monthly cycles were very irregular and therefore, I had to take the pill to regulate them – which I did for over 5 years. Although, I had numerous scans / tests to find out the reason why my periods were so irregular and which even stopped for more than a year, specialists doctors didn’t have an answer. Doctors had informed me that I may only be able to fall pregnant by means of I.V.F.

God’s Love Message Is the Sweetest Gift of All

2/11/2013 Sandra Clifton, D. Min.

“What are you thinking?” I asked my husband, Terry, who was staring at the lineup of 15 throwaway cameras that graced our kitchen counter.

“Valentine’s Day,” Terry answered.

You’re not married for 26 years without getting a glimmer of your spouse’s next thought. So I revealed it to him: “I know—you were going to find a photo of us from these and frame it!”

“Right; how did you know?” Then Terry added with an ornery smile, “What you didn’t know is that I bought a special frame to hold it. It says, ‘BE MINE!’”

We surveyed the cavalcade of cameras and tried to guess what special moments were on each one. In all these pictures there were probably 10 good photos of us smiling as a couple but 1,001cute cat photos! (Did I tell you we have two spoiled cats, Sammy and Barnie, who are naturals on camera?) Terry and I began to wonder which of the 15 cameras contained that one good photo of us.

Darwin RUAP campaign meetings turn into Reconciliation with Indigenous Australians / Melbourne Western Suburbs campaign meeting with Lord Monckton on 22nd March

Dear family & friends in Christ,

1) Last weekend in Darwin, Pr Daniel along with Peter & Melanie from CTFM, ministered at several church meetings and also RUA Party campaign meetings, which were very well attended. This was Pr Daniel’s first time visiting Darwin after having prayed for 13 years.

We thank God that during the week heading up to the meetings, the Northern Territorial newspaper wrote two articles about his visit to Darwin. These articles, along with the help of the Darwin Christian Radio 97.7FM, helped get the message out, which brought many people to the CTFM & RUAP meetings where they were mightily touched by the power of God.

Click the following links to listen to radio interview and to read one of the articles.

At the altar many were weeping and some others received a real healing touch from God. Many people, who were there for the first time, were tremendously blessed by the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. We also had the opportunity to speak on the Christian Radio Station on Monday which was very good.

The real highlight of the weekend was on Monday night, which was scheduled as a campaign meeting mainly focussed on spending time with the Indigenous people of Australia, but something amazing happened.

In his speech at the National Press Club at the RUAP National Campaign Launch in Canberra last month, Pr Daniel stated, “the Indigenous people are very spiritual and that providing only their physical needs would not fix their problems. RUAP has the answer to meet their spirituals needs too.”

Britain’s Cameron Faces Gay Marriage Revolt as Plots Swirl

2/5/2013 Andrew Osborn/Reuters

British Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to set off a rebellion within his ruling Conservative party on Tuesday over his government’s plans to legalize gay marriage, thanks to support from political rivals.

But though Parliament is likely to vote to give the draft law its initial approval, more than 100 of Cameron’s 303 Conservative party lawmakers are expected to vote against it on what they say are moral grounds.

Behind in the polls, Cameron is trying to perform a tricky, and some analysts believe, impossible balancing act: to reconcile his desire to show his party is progressive, with the views of many of those inside it uncomfortable with such reform.

Amid growing talk of a possible leadership challenge against him, many Conservative lawmakers say they feel Cameron is not a real conservative, and is sacrificing what were once core party values on the altar of populism.

“He hasn’t got a lot of political capital left in the bank,” Stewart Jackson, a Conservative MP who opposes the gay marriage bill, told Reuters. “There is only so much the Conservative Party is going to take. He has to deliver some authentic conservative policies very soon.”
