Colombian Christians Bless New President amid “Great Optimism” Over Nation’s Future

Juan Santosby Teresa Neumann : Jul 7, 2010 : Wesley W. J. Richards – Christian Today

“When someone is waiting with patience God rewards them greatly…I believe this is the Kairos (timing) of God for your life…The hand of God has supported everything you’ve done and will continue to support you. Thank you for not anticipating events, thank you for waiting, because in His time you will receive the reward.”

(Colombia)—The new President of Colombia, Dr. Juan Manual Santos was overwhelmingly elected with the support from one of the world’s fastest growing churches winning 69% of the vote.

As reported in Christian Today, during his campaign Santos attended campaign meetings hosted by Misión Carismática Internacional (MCI), with more than 200,000 members and leaders from the church were also reportedly elected to the Senate, Congress and Andean Parliament for the ‘U’ party, led by Santos.

At an MCI conference earlier this year, Pastor Wes Richards, from King’s Church International in Windsor told Santos: “You helped to give this nation hope in dark moments of despair and when you have faced entrenched evil. We are all very grateful for the contribution you have made to the security of this nation.”

Australian Election – Will God’s shepherds rightly lead His sheep? Pr Daniel

Pastor Danny NalliahDear family & friends in Christ,

The body of Christ and our nation of Australia are at a very critical point in time.

We are facing a pivotal crossroad that will determine our corporate destiny of either exalting God’s righteousness and receiving His favour, or exalting unrighteousness (sin) and receiving His righteous judgment.

In the Church throughout our nation, the sheep desperately need their shepherds to lead from the front, under the authority and direction of the Chief Shepherd Himself, our Lord Jesus Christ. God by His amazing grace has given the Church another prophetic opportunity to see our nation of Australia come back to Jesus through either blessing or persecution. Which do you choose??

In the 2007 Federal Election many were confused as to whether Kevin Rudd was a true Christian or not, but I’m sure time has proven as to what sort of a Christian he was. Firstly, before the election when he refused to directly answer the question by a spectator at the footy finals, “Is Jesus the Son of God?” He replied, “I go to church on Sunday.”

Then at his very last speech in Parliament as PM, he stated in his closing statement, “I better thank the great God and creator of us all, I thank him – or her – as well.” See http://www.theaustralian.com.au/full-transcript-of-kevin-rudds-farewell-speech/story-fn5vfgwx-1225883796571

How can Mr Rudd not realise that the Lord’s prayer starts with “Our Father who art in heaven” when they pray it every day in Parliament? Or was he actually mocking almighty God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit??  You be the judge. (more…)

Make Your Voice Heard – Support School Chaplaincy

School children in Australia - Next GenerationDear family & friends in Christ,

A few different people have asked me to forward to our network the following email from ACCESS Ministries.

I am doing so because I love the next generation of our nation and I fully support the Christian Chaplaincy Program introduced by the Howard Government.

However, I personally prefer not acting after the horse has bolted, nor do I want to see an ambulance at the bottom of the mountain when I can prevent it by having a fence on the top. I hope you get the drift of what I am getting at.

When you vote, you just don’t vote a PM, but the whole party. Unfortunately, what we sow is what we reap.
Please read the following email prayerfully, act promptly by writing or contacting your MP ASAP, and let’s vote Godly men and women into Parliament.

Blessings/ Pr Daniel Nalliah (more…)

Media Release: Five reasons why Australians should not vote for Ms Gillard as PM – vote for Labor is a vote for the Greens

PM Julia GillardMedia release – For immediate release

Five reasons why Australians should not vote for Ms Gillard as PM – vote for Labor is a vote for the Greens

A vote for Labor means a vote for the Greens, according to Dr Daniel Nalliah, President of Catch the Fire Ministries (CTFM) – an inter-denominational Para-church Ministry with more than 60 bases across Australia and reaching tens of thousands of voters across the nation.

Dr Nalliah has given five reasons why Australians should not vote for Ms Gillard as Prime Minister at the upcoming federal election on August 21.

Central to the objection is the realization that a vote for Labor will essentially be a vote for the Greens. “Do you really want Bob Brown and the Greens to run our country?” Dr Nalliah said.

“Ms Gillard’s close alliance with the Greens means if Australians vote for Labor they will actually be voting for the Greens,” he said.

1. A vote for Labor will be a vote for Greens. “The current alliance that Labor has forged with the Greens is a real disaster for Australia and Australians. We are sure that this election will be a very close one in which Labor will have to go to bed with the Greens to get into power.  This will result in Greens policy constantly reflected in every decision Labor makes. New Prime Minister / Mount Ainslie / Election 2007 – By Ps Daniel Nalliah

Pastor Daniel NalliahKevin Rudd and Julia GillardDear family & friends in Christ,

It is so great to be back home in Australia.  I am sure we all know that there is no place like home.  Our time in Israel, Jordan, Sri Lanka & Malaysia was fantastic. While I was in Sri Lanka I heard the shocking news that Kevin Rudd was no longer the PM but Julia Gillard had taken the top job.

I received many emails asking me what I thought about it and what’s going to happen to Australia with a self confessed Atheist as Prime Minister.   Sorry for not getting back to you before, but I was so very busy since returning from overseas and have also been reading many articles about this issue and seeking God’s wisdom before making any comments.

As you all know by now I tell people, ‘what they need to hear and not what they like to hear.’   Let’s give credit where it is due.  Unlike Kevin Rudd, at least PM Gillard has been honest in telling the people that she DOES NOT BELIEVE IN GOD.   However, is this the beginning of the end for Australia ??  This will depend on how you vote at the next election which could be anytime between now and November 2010.

In October 2009 we at CTFM carried out a spiritual warfare prayer assignment with the help of many other prayer warriors on Mt Ainslie in Canberra and around 30 other mountains across the country. We specifically prayed for rain, the breaking of the drought and that there would be no major bush fires.  Then we stretched our hands over federal parliament and prayed for ungodly leaders in parliament to be removed and righteousness to be restored. Ps Daniel’s Vision of Julia Gillard stabbing Kevin Rudd in the back – By Jill Curry

Kevin Rudd and Julia GillardDear friends and family in Christ,

Shortly after Kevin Rudd was elected as PM in late 2007 or early 2008, at a Wednesday CTFM Prayer Meeting in Melbourne during our worship time, Ps Daniel suddenly gasped and later shared a vision of Julia Gillard stabbing Kevin Rudd in the back.  He interpreted this as Ms Gillard making a challenge for the leadership at some stage and deposing Kevin Rudd.

Just before leaving for Israel in May 2010, at an office daily prayer time, Ps Daniel was musing about the possibility of Ms Gillard making a challenge and the speculations that were in the press.  I reminded him of the vision he had some years before, which jogged his memory.  On his return this week, the fatal blow had been made in Canberra and we now have a new Prime Minister.  At our prayer meeting on Wednesday, many others present also remembered the vision he had some 2 years ago.

On ABC radio 774 on 29/6/10 John Faine interviewed PM Julia Gillard.  Normally not one to support Christian causes, he asked her directly, “Do you believe in God?”, to which she replied that she did not.

She had grown up in the Baptist Church and attended youth group, but as an adult had made other choices.  He then mentioned that both Kevin Rudd and John Howard had made a point of being seen attending church and courting the Christian vote.

Julia Gillard and ‘religious faith’ – Please vote in polls

Australian Prime Minister Julia GillardDear friends and family in Christ,

Following is an email from Salt Shakers for your ongoing prayer for Australia’s government, that the righteousness of the Word of God would be exalted in our nation!

Julia Gillard and ‘religious faith’ – Please vote in polls

When Julia Gillard was sworn in as Prime Minister she used an ‘affirmation’ – not the traditional oath on the Bible. When asked about religion yesterday on the ABC, she said she didn’t believe in God and is “not a religious person” although she was brought up in the Baptist Church. She said “I’m not going to pretend a faith I don’t feel” but added that she respected the religious views of others.

Although we are concerned about the Prime Minister being an atheist, at least she is being upfront about her beliefs!

Having an atheist as the Prime Minister is a significant development and a move away from the Christian heritage of our nation. We would like to see committed Christians having influence in the governing of our nation.

We posted a report on these matters – with links – on the front page of our website yesterday.

Why are Liberals So Afraid of Prayer?

Bishop Harry JacksonBy Harry Jacskson Jr – The Christian Post  – Apr. 27 2010

The last two weeks have been anything but calm in the world of faith and religion. Conservative Christians are wondering whether they are being betrayed by both the White House and the court system. The ruling of a Wisconsin judge that the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional and violates the concept of the separation of church and state has been like a blow to the solar plexus for battle weary Christians. In the much-touted culture wars, there has never been such an open case of liberals throwing down the gauntlet in a specific area that has been deemed “Christian territory.”Perhaps the blame for this change in the political atmosphere should be laid at the feet of the current administration and it’s concept of pluralism. After all, the president boldly declared last year that the U.S. was no longer a Christian nation. This remark infuriated the faithful and set the stage for millions of rank and file Christians to question his personal faith. Next, he did not attend the National Day of Prayer and refused to make a declaration or statement until late in the day last year. Conservative Christian powerbrokers watched tentatively as the administration attempted to bring new leaders into the president’s advisory circle. These new leaders had no real national cache’ with the Christian masses. Despite the fact that the president attended a Congressional prayer breakfast earlier this year, his approach seems to have been aimed at “defanging” the politically powerful, religious right.

National Day of Prayer in America – 6th May 2010

Franklin GrahamMay 5, 2010 – Read all the articles below covering Franklin Graham’s journey as the 2010 Honorary Chairman of the National Day of Prayer.

Invited or not, I’ll stand in front of the Pentagon and pray.

Even if President Obama fails to intervene to allow him to lead a National Day of Prayer event at the Pentagon Thursday, Franklin Graham will still be there— praying for the U.S. military and his own son who is serving in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon had invited the National Day of Prayer Task Force, of which Graham is 2010 honorary chairman, to lead an official prayer service on site, but later rescinded its invitation after various groups protested.

Graham told USA TODAY that when President Obama visited his father, Billy, last month, the younger Graham asked the president to intercede with the Pentagon to restore his invitation. He said Obama replied that he would “look into it.”

Invitation or not, Graham vows to pray for the military tomorrow. He also will be leading prayer at the national observance in the Canon Office Building, and a later event on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

Geert Wilders on course to be next Dutch prime minister

Geert Wilders looks like next Dutch Prime MinisterBy Bruno Waterfield – The Telegraph – 05 March 2010

Municipal results announced on Thursday put his party in first place in Almere, a region near Amsterdam and second in The Hague, one the country’s largest cities and the seat of the Dutch government.

If repeated in national elections on June 9, the Freedom Party could win 27 out of 150 seats, becoming the largest single party and putting him in line to become prime minister and form a new government.

Mr Wilders has called Islam a backward religion, wants a ban on headscarves in public life and has compared the Koran to Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

“We are going to conquer the entire country we are going to be the biggest party in the country,” he said after the vote. (more…)
