Objection To Charter Of Rights Proposal
Dear Pastors/ church leaders/ friends,
The National Human Rights Consultation Secretariat of the Attorney-General’s Department are taking responses on or before 15 June 2009 to a proposed Charter of Rights in Australia which may:
1. allow minority groups to impose their “rights” on the majority (for example on abortion and/or same-sex marriage);
2. allow unelected judges instead of elected representatives to determine if any laws are not compatible with human rights).
If you like you can send your OBJECTION to the proposal for a Charter of Rights in Australia by completing your name and address on any of the 3 sample responses attached (with amendments as you wish) and posting the same to the National Human Rights Consultation Secretariat of the Attorney-General’s Department before 15 June 2009.
