Australia’s Population Booms

Last week, as the Australian Bureau of Statistics announced a 2 per cent leap (439,000 people) in the country’s population in the year to March, a huge dust storm blew in from the arid interior to blanket much of Eastern Australia. Are the two things connected?

Green groups would probably say, yes. Others, maybe. “Dust storms are a natural phenomenon, but they are influenced by human activities and are now just as serious as traffic and industrial air pollution,” says Laurence Barrie, chief researcher at the World Meteorological Organisation in Geneva, which is working with 40 countries to develop a dust storm warning system.

Most of the recent population increase — almost 300,000 people — was from immigration. But the birth rate is up, too, with 160,000 babies born during the year. On that basis Australia’s population could “balloon” form its present 21.8 million to 35 million over the next 40 years.

We are so excited to experience an increasing measure of the manifest presence of God at every Catch the Fire meeting across Australia, resulting in more people being healed, delivered, set free, souls won into the Kingdom of God, and more of the body of Christ being prepared for the second coming of our Bridegroom Saviour Jesus Christ!

Last weekend a mighty storm of united prayer arose before the heavenly throne of God at the Rise Up Australia prayer meeting in Melbourne as prayer warriors from across the body of Christ joined in the Spirit of prophetic intercession against the One World Government and Australia’s expected signing of the Global Warming Treaty in Copenhagen, Denmark in December of 2009.

As the body of Christ we are called to sound the trumpet of the Lord and let the people know what the devil is planning to do.  We continue to pray for the fulfillment of the perfect will of our Father in heaven as His Kingdom comes on earth in increasing measure!

Muslim ‘apostates’ in U.S. ask for protection (Group says Shariah law poses threat)

Five ex-Muslims who founded a group called Former Muslims United put out a public appeal Thursday to the U.S. government for protection, saying the lives of thousands of “apostates from Islam” are in peril.

Speaking at Capitol Hill press conference, the Granada Hills, Calif., group cited the case of Fathima Rifqa Bary, a 17-year-old from Ohio who converted to Christianity four years ago. She fled to Florida this past summer in fears that her parents would murder her for “honor” reasons. Her father, the girl said in court filing, had already threatened to kill her.

Fathima first stayed with a pastor and his wife, then ended up in protective custody with Florida’s Department of Children and Families.

Is Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and the Labor government, who have betrayed the Christian voters after winning the last federal election, now about to betray the nation of Australia once again? In his recent 2GB Radio interview with Lord Mockton, Alan Jones from Sydney stated in his closing comments, “Is the Prime Minister about to betray us all?”

In December at the Global Warming Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, PM Kevin Rudd will relinquish Australia’s democratic rights to make decisions as a sovereign nation, by signing a treaty to a ONE WORLD GOVERMENT led by the United Nations.

Janet Albrechtsen’s article on climate change in the 28 October edition of the Australian refers to the United Nation’s ‘Copenhagen Plot’. The article deals with a draft of the climate change treaty, which she says is ‘aimed at creating a world government that would tax rich countries and give to poor ones’. As members know, the United Nations Climate Change Conference will take place at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen, Denmark from 7 to 18 December 2009. The conference includes the fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

We at Catch the Fire Ministries fought a 5 year battle for freedom of Speech and freedom of Religion in the state of Victoria due to a bad piece of legislation which became law in 2002 under the Labor administration. Thank God we won this battle which helped us regain our freedom of speech. Is our entire nation of Australia about to lose it forever?

A Great Weekend Of Excitement, Fellowship & Powerful Worship

The weekend gone by was a great weekend of fun, fellowship and absolutely amazing worship in the Spirit of God!

As many deceived people in the world and naive children walked the streets collecting sweets to celebrate Halloween on Saturday 31st October, a pagan festival giving glory to the devil, the Holy Spirit of God powerfully showed up at the Catch the Fire meetings in Melbourne!
 
On Saturday around 80 people from the Catch the Fire Ministry team joined with Pastor Daniel and his family to celebrate his belated birthday lunch at his home. It was certainly a great time of fun, delicious food and fellowship!

As many gathered over the weekend on Friday & Sunday nights, the fire of the Holy Spirit fell in the house of God, sweeping through the crowd as worshippers pressed into the manifest presence of God through prophetic praise, worship, prayer and intercession for Australia and the nations of the world! Today we have yet another terror-related arrest of a Muslim, Tarek Mehanna, who was plotting jihad terror attacks against U.S. shopping malls. But Americans are told to never link that to Islamic teachings.
Committed Muslims insist that Islam is misunderstood by the West.

Sensitivity training to Islam is forced upon U.S. government employees and teachers. They are told that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism, implying that if they believe their eyes, ears and common sense, then they must be Islamophobes.

Muslim propaganda is cleverly wrapped in illogical strategies to get the Westerners confused about their own perceptions of Islam. For centuries Muslims lived with unchallenged, warped logic regarding their religion. We were disgusted recently to learn of some pastors referring to seniors – senior ministries and parents – as ‘twigs.’ Some young people were even being advised not to listen to their parents because they’re past it, don’t know what they’re talking about. As for ‘older’ ministers, they too are over the hill, not with it and passed their ‘use by’ date!

This is ’weasel talk’ (unjustifiable, unprovable statements)! It is not only discourteous but a seriously wrong presumption and a gross ignoring of the need in these troubled days not to forsake the wisdom of the ‘elders – the experienced fathers and mothers – in Israel.’ (more…)

In December 2004, pastors Daniel Scot and Daniel Nalliah of the evangelical group Catch the Fire Ministries (CTFM) were found guilty by an Australian judge of religious vilification for criticizing Islam in the course of a religious seminar and were ordered to publicly disavow their beliefs. Four and a half years after the lawsuit was brought, the pastors ultimately prevailed in the courts. 60,000 pray in Times Square But Media Fail To Notice This Most Unusual Event

NEW YORK – You can see most anything at Times Square in Manhattan.  But 60,000 people praying? That’s an unusual site in the heart of Broadway.

Yet, that’s just what happened there yesterday for one hour – from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in a Christian rally called Prayer in the Square.

Event organizers from Time Square Church had expected some 15,000. But their expectations were far exceeded at the third event of its kind in the last three years.

Christians Gather In Jerusalem To Show Support For Israel

Some 5,000 Christians from 100 nations marched through the streets of Jerusalem Tuesday to show their solidarity with the nation of Israel.

March participants waved Zionist banners and flags, while others wore T-shirts that read “Jerusalem United” as part of a campaign responding to political pressure on Israel to stop construction in the largely Arab eastern part of the city.

Organizers said the marchers were not affected by unrest in some parts of Jerusalem, where rumors that Israeli extremists planned to march on a shrine holy to Muslims and Jews fueled low-level violence.

The Jerusalem March is part of the 30th annual Feast of Tabernacles being held this week in Israel. The event, hosted by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), marks Sukkot, a Jewish festival celebrating the ingathering of the harvest and remembering the 40 years God provided for the Jewish people as they wandered in the wilderness.

Yesterday, Senator Ron Boswell issued a media release saying “Under questioning from Senator Brett Mason, the Estimates Committee heard the Minister representing the Minister for Education, Senator Kim Carr, refusing to guarantee that the chaplaincy program will continue beyond this financial year.”    School Chaplains to be axed under Christian Rudd-Media Release from Senator Ron Boswell

Senator Ron Boswell said that Mr Rudd had promoted his Christian credentials to the electorate prior to the election – he called on Mr Rudd to intervene to ensure that the chaplaincy program continues.
