“Mr Karroum told how his daughter introduced him to Islam but fell into the wrong crowd worshipping at an Auburn mosque.” Somehow I doubt that Mohamed Karroum was introduced to Islam by his daughter.

She was only 22 when she was killed two years ago, and since he says she introduced him to Islam after she finished high school, that means that if this introduction took place at all, it most likely happened just a few years ago.

But Mohamed Karroum looks as if he has been developing his beard and zebiba for a longer time than that.

Meanwhile, his bid here for jizya from the life insurance company should be treated with all the derision and contempt that he deserves.

THE father of Gold Coast ­jihadist Amira Karroum has launched a legal battle to claim her $300,000 life insurance policy.

Could the World’s Largest Muslim Country Become Israel’s New Friend?

At a time when Israel is seeking to boost its ties with Arab and Muslim countries in order to counter the threats posed by Iran and terrorist groups, could the world’s largest Muslim country become the Jewish state’s new friend?

In a March 28 meeting with a delegation of senior Indonesian journalists visiting Israel as guests of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for a normalization of ties with Indonesia.

“The time has come for official relations between Indonesia and Israel. We have many opportunities to cooperate in the fields of water and technology. Israel has excellent relations with several countries in Asia, particularly China, Japan, India and Vietnam,” Netanyahu said.

The prime minister added that Israel’s “relations with the Arab world are also changing.”

You Won’t Believe Which 2 Asian Countries Are Standing With Israel

Israel is looking east to China and India to help drive tourism, as visits to the country have yet to fully recover from the 2014 Gaza war, Tourism Ministry Director-General Amir Halevi said.

In 2015, tourism grew 43 percent from China to some 50,000 visitors and the ministry sees that doubling by 2018. It will be helped by the start of nonstop flights next month by Hainan Airlines from Beijing to Tel Aviv that will add 35,000 extra seats to Israel a year.

“This will change the game,” Halevi told Reuters. “The price of tickets will go down 50 percent.”

Tourism in 2015 fell 3 percent to 3.1 million, following a war with Palestinian militants in Gaza in 2014. A weak Russian economy also weighed.

In the six-week Gaza conflict, Israeli air strikes killed more than 2,100 Palestinians, mostly civilians, while Palestinian militants killed six Israeli civilians and 67 soldiers.

Bible charity vows to continue translation work after murders

The murders of four translators working to bring the Bible to obscure languages in the Middle East earlier this month won’t stop the charity behind the effort from its work, officials said.

The four unidentified translators, who worked secretly for Wycliffe Associates, a Florida non-profit dedicated to bringing the gospel to hundreds of obscure languages, were killed by suspected Islamist militants at an undisclosed location,Wycliffe officials said in a statement.

“They shot and destroyed all the equipment in the office,” read the statement. “The invaders burned all the books and other translation materials in the office.”

The work is so dangerous that Wycliffe President Bruce Smith will not even say what country the office was in or give the names of those killed. He did say the attackers shot two workers to death and beat two more to death with emptied guns as they used their bodies to shield a senior translator who survived.
