I have always wondered whether it was a big mistake Sri Lanka made when it got its independence from the British in 1948. Then known as Ceylon and very famous for its Ceylon Tea, the nation now called Sri Lanka has been in civil conflict for the past 50+ years.  Thank God for the British who set foot on Australia some 200 years ago and made it a wonderful land to live in! I am so happy that they did not leave Australia.  As a Sri Lankan born Aussie, I must say we should be so grateful  for our great Nation.

Tea Plantations of Sri LankaMy parents studied under the British administration in Sri Lanka in a season when all people studied in English, and spoke English as their first language. They never looked at each other as a particular race group but rather as fellow Ceylonese.

As soon as the British left in 1948,  corrupt power hungry Government officials divided the once united country, giving some groups more privileges than others, and leaving minorities in the country to languish. This sparked off ethnic tensions and communal violence, thus requiring Sinhalese to study in Sinhalese and Tamils to study in Tamil. This divided a once united community in Sri Lanka, and made it a Sinhalese-Buddhist nation. (more…)

Report From Pastor Danny’s USA-Canada Trip 9th April – 22nd April 09

Hollywood, Los AngelesDear family and friends in Christ,

All glory and honour goes continually to the wondrous King of kings and the Lord of lords! What a glorious time of seeing God move so incredibly among His people and a time of personally receiving direction and encouragement, during the past 2 weeks in Canada and the US!

Toronto, CanadaI was so excited in my spirit when the time came to minister God’s Word in Canada (Toronto) during the Easter weekend (an Easter Crusade) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each service was attended by more than 400 people hungry for the Lord and not satisfied with less than His best as their portion!

Scarborough (or better known as little Sri Lanka) in Toronto has around 350, 000 Sri Lankan Canadians living there, with most having fled Sri Lanka due to it’s civil war. Hence here are around 30-40 Sri Lankan churches in this area.

The church I ministered in had approx 90 plus Hindu converts to Christianity, including the pastor himself. God moved most powerfully at every service, as the people pressed in to the Lord, revealing their hunger and thirst for Him. Many of these dear people have loved one’s trapped in the middle of the battle zone in the north of Sri Lanka. (more…)

Bendigo On Fire – People from 21 Churches including 14 Senior Pastors Unite For Catch The Fire Meetings

Dear Family and Friends in Christ,

We thank the Lord for a glorious weekend in Bendigo as the Spirit of God moved most mightily at every single meeting where Pastor Danny and a team from Catch The Fire ministered on the 4th & 5th of April.  Scores of hungry Christians from 21 churches, including 14 senior pastors, flocked to receive the fire of God’s Holy Spirit! All glory to God as almost every single person at the  meetings were radically transformed by the mighty presence of God, to stand boldly for the Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God!

With many increasingly stirred in the Spirit to pray for our nation, additional exciting news is that the Rise Up Australia monthly prayer meetings will be re-launched on the last Tuesday of April in Bendigo and will be starting another new location for prayer in Maryborough. The last few weeks have been most exciting serving the Lord Jesus Christ in Australia!

We all know that without battle there is no victory!  When I first came to Australia I said, “Lord, it is so boring serving You in this nation.”  However, glory to God as I really cannot say that any more. Since He gave us the court case battle with the Islamic Council of Victoria and from there onwards, there has never been a dull moment serving the Lord and the body of Christ in our nation of Australia! 

Truly, Jesus is Lord of all! When the devil is mad, we can rejoice and be glad that the righteousness, justice, and truth of the Word of God is marching on in the power of the Holy Spirit! (more…)

More Than 425,000 Guatemalans Attend Luis Palau Outreach

Revival In New Zealand

Revival“God Invades the Catholic Church and Releases a New Move of Unity among Denominations”

We pray for revival, we ask God for a fresh outbreak of His glory and sometimes God shows up in a way we don’t expect. Several years ago, the Lord spoke to me during a time of prayer that a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit would sweep through the Catholic Church. For years I have been praying over this. I didn’t know God was going to begin answering these prayers in New Zealand.

While on my recent trip to New Zealand, we witnessed and experienced an outpouring of the Holy Spirit within the Catholic Church. We were invited to come and minister to the Catholics by Monsignor Green and Brother Andrew Pigg of Christ the King Church in New Zealand. While we were there, God gave us great favor with not only Monsignor Green, but also with the overseeing Bishop of the Catholic Church in Auckland, New Zealand. We met for an hour with Bishop Pat Dunn and received his prayers and blessings for what God wanted to do within the Catholic Church. They were very open and very hungry to experience the power of the Holy Spirit and were very Christ-centered in their faith and theology. (more…)

In Albany 5-7 churches combined together (many travelling from far away places) to hear God’s Word released with displays of God’s goodness following – the Bride of Christ being made ready for the Bridegroom King’s soon appearing! How I Am Praying For The President

We should certainly pray for the president. We should pray for wisdom for him, for strength for him, for protection for him and his family. But where his plans clearly oppose righteousness, we should pray they fail. Where his plans clearly are intended to do harm to the people he leads, contrary to the oath he swore before God, God’s people should pray that those plans do not succeed.

Reasonable men are now beginning to question whether or not Barack Obama is intentionally acting to harm the interests of the American people. (See the American Enterprise Institute’s Kevin Hassett, and mainstream media pundit Howard Fineman). Can God’s people stand idle and allow their elected leader to undermine righteousness? To do so is to be complicit in the unrighteous deeds of our elected leader. We have an obligation to hold him to account, and Barack Obama is ultimately accountable to the Judge of all the earth.
