The Times: Ex-Muslim Takes A Stand Against Islam And Shariah

Maryam Namazie, head of the Council of Ex-Muslims in Britain, says that rights are for individuals, not religions or beliefs.

Maryam Namazie

Picture this, says Maryam Namazie: “A child is swathed in cloth from head to toe every day. Everything but her face and hands are covered for fear that a man might find her attractive. At school she learns that she is worth less than a boy. She is not allowed to dance or swim or feel the sun on her skin or the wind in her hair. This is clearly unacceptable, yet it is accepted when it is done in the name of religion.” (more…)

The ‘Changing’ Evangelical Movement?

By, Ken Connor, Christian Post        Sat. March 8th, 2008

Ken ConnorPundits love to put their subjects into tidy little boxes—it makes their talking points easier. After all, people in little boxes are not complicated or nuanced. No doubt that’s why the media has long tried to put evangelicals into a box. The problem, however, is that the media has been using the wrong box for evangelicals for decades.

Ever since the rise of the Moral Majority, the media has been labeling evangelicals “values voters.” The assumption has been that evangelicals are concerned with a limited set of values, that they always act on the basis of those limited values, and that they are, therefore, less complicated or sophisticated than the rest of society. Is Australia on its way down a slippery slope?

This article is written for all those who have the fortitude to face up to what we as Aussie Christians have brought upon ourselves. It is not for those who cry, “Take me off the mailing list” because they cannot see/hear the truth!

It is certainly time for battle in the Spiritual realm as never before!  The fact that some people cannot see what is happening right now makes me ask, “What will it take?”  (more…)

Foolish Preaching Of Cross Needed In Churches, Say Speakers

By Lillian Kwon, Christian Post     Mon, March 17 2008,

Steven J. LawsonMany Christians will arrive at Easter this year celebrating only half of what the holiest day in the Christian calendar signifies.

“Easter Sunday is not only a most appropriate occasion for celebration, but it also serves as a yearly sobering reminder of a topic that many people work hard to avoid – the harsh reality of death,” said C.J. Mahaney, president of Sovereign Grace Ministries.

Mahaney was speaking to hundreds in Orlando, Fla., this past weekend at Ligonier Ministries’ annual national conference, which concluded Saturday.

The Fallacy Of Shared Values

By Janet Levy,

At a time when 40% of young Muslims in the United Kingdom want to impose sharia law on the country and 36% favor executing apostates of Islam, the head of the Church of England called for the selective application of sharia law in Britain in the interest of social cohesion.

On February 7, 2008, Dr. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury and symbolic head of the worldwide Anglican Communion, issued what amounts to a capitulation to the encroachment of Islam and an accommodation to sharia. This Islamic theo-political-legal doctrine assigns second class status to Christians and Jews, utilizes a medieval system of justice that sanctions cruel and unusual punishments and mandates the inequality of women and non-Muslims. Will Labor’s Catholic Ministers Have The Guts To Follow Their Conscience Over Fertility Bill?

By Ruth Dudley Edwards – 10th March 2008, Daily Mail

Just what would it take for the three Roman Catholic Cabinet Ministers – Des Browne, Ruth Kelly and Paul Murphy – to tell the Prime Minister that their consciences matter more than their jobs, if the horrors within the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill are not enough to screw their courage to the sticking point?

Forced sterilisation of the unfit? Euthanasia? Slaying of the first-born?

Des Browne, Ruth Kelly, Paul MurphyThe Bill raises fundamental moral issues on fertility and embryo research which should never be considered a matter of party politics and are an anathema to the Catholic faith.
