Revival In New Zealand

By Matt Sorger

Revival“God Invades the Catholic Church and Releases a New Move of Unity among Denominations”

We pray for revival, we ask God for a fresh outbreak of His glory and sometimes God shows up in a way we don’t expect. Several years ago, the Lord spoke to me during a time of prayer that a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit would sweep through the Catholic Church. For years I have been praying over this. I didn’t know God was going to begin answering these prayers in New Zealand.

While on my recent trip to New Zealand, we witnessed and experienced an outpouring of the Holy Spirit within the Catholic Church. We were invited to come and minister to the Catholics by Monsignor Green and Brother Andrew Pigg of Christ the King Church in New Zealand. While we were there, God gave us great favor with not only Monsignor Green, but also with the overseeing Bishop of the Catholic Church in Auckland, New Zealand. We met for an hour with Bishop Pat Dunn and received his prayers and blessings for what God wanted to do within the Catholic Church. They were very open and very hungry to experience the power of the Holy Spirit and were very Christ-centered in their faith and theology. (more…)

4,000-Year-Old “Abraham’s Gate” Reopened To The Public

By Teresa Neumann

Abraham\'s Gate“The Bible recounts that the people of Dan took Abraham’s nephew Lot prisoner, and Abraham came to Dan to rescue him, but it is hard to confirm whether or not Abraham passed through the gate.”

(Israel)—Haaretz News reports that the Nature and National Parks Protection Authority yesterday opened “Abraham’s Gate”—originally uncovered in 1979, but recently under painstaking restoration—at Tel Dan in the north, for visits by the public.

Believed to have been built around 1750 B.C., the ancient structure is seven meters tall and composed of three sun-dried mud brick arches on a large basalt stone foundation. The arches are said to be the oldest ever found in the Land of Israel. (more…)

The “Red Envelope Project”—A Grassroots Appeal For Life

By Aimee Herd

Red Envelope“Like the powerful image of the red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message… It will be quiet, but clear.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: As we present this news report, we also remind our readers of the directive from the Apostle Paul in 1Timothy 2:1-2, to continue in prayer for our leaders and all in authority, including the President. –Aimee Herd, BCN.

As one life-minded Believer was praying, an idea came to this person’s mind that has now circled the internet for about a month now. The idea is a simple one, yet powerful in its message. We present it for our readers who also value life, especially that of little ones yet-to-be-born. (more…)

Salt Shakers E-News – Goodbye Mr Kirby – Hello ‘Miss’ Bell And Her Lesbian ‘Partner’!

Many people were pleased to see a homosexual activist Judge depart the High Court with the retirement of Justice Michael Kirby last month.

Unfortunately, his replacement could be an even stronger activist and homosexual rights campaigner.

Whilst Kirby was without doubt a very intelligent man, we, and many others, had considerable concerns about his constant promotion of his own chosen lifestyle. Something High Court Judges are not supposed to do.

Justice Kirby was, of course, an out homosexual living in a long term relationship when appointed. He was not open about his homosexuality when appointed in 1996 by then PM, Paul Keating, but his appointees clearly knew very well that he was. Kirby did not publicly reveal his homosexuality until after his mother died in 1999. (more…)

British Actor Portrays Heroes Of The Faith From Brother Andrew To Richard Wurmbrand

By Peter Wooding

David RobinsonRegarding his latest production, “Apostle of Faith” (about Smith Wigglesworth), actor David Robinson says: “He was a gruff, blunt Yorkshire plumber who came to know God and had an amazing ministry in healing and preaching and some of his miraculous encounters and meetings that he spoke at just blew my mind when I read them. In fact there were almost too many miracles and healings in the books to put on stage because you got a bit blasé, somebody else was instantly healed and people coming back to life from the dead…”

(Colwyn Bay, North Wales, UK)—Rather than seeking the bright lights of Hollywood, actor David Robinson uses his talents to re-enact the lives of true heroes of the Christian faith in a number of productions toured by the UK-based Saltmine Theatre Company.

Born in Lancashire in the North of England and now living in the West Midlands, the majority of David’s training was at Amersham College. He then went on to work at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London before joining Saltmine Theatre Company as an actor in 1989. Since then he has performed in all their major productions, he was made leader of the company in 1991 and subsequently Saltmine’s Creative Arts Director in 1998. (more…)

Cautionary Good News For Christians In India

By Teresa Neumann

Orissa Christians“It’s a fertile time for the Church. We have noticed…that if we did not have this time of persecution, we would not have seen the growth that has taken place. God continues to work powerfully in these areas.”

(India)—Mission Network News reports that, in advance of the April elections, Orissa’s ruling Biju Janata Dal has ended the alliance with the Hindu extremist Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to the report, church leaders in the region believe the violence against Christians in Orissa by Hindu activists last year is one of the reasons behind the collapse of the BJD-BJP alliance in the state. The split will benefit Believers, they say. (more…)

The Trophy Of A Life Saved: Updates On Lia’s LIFE Speech

By Aimee Herd

Lia Giving Her Speech“Please join us in continuing to pray for her YouTube video to spread virally and impact countless lives.”

Last week we featured a story about Lia, a 12-year-old in seventh grade who was giving a speech on abortion.

Although she initially encountered resistance from her teachers to choose another topic or forfeit her opportunity to participate in a speech competition, Lia decided to stay with her topic, and eventually her teacher—moved by her presentation—relented and allowed her to compete.

Lia then gave her speech in front of the entire school, and although the principal and other teachers deemed her the “obvious winner,” the judges disqualified her because of her topic and stance on abortion.

However, later that day, and after much discussion, the judges reversed their decision, making Lia the winner of the speech contest. Lia advanced to the regional competition with her message of Life. (more…)

My Imam Father Came After Me With An Axe!

“An amazing article printed in The Times in the UK this week….

The article tells the story of ‘The Imam’s Daughter’ by speaking with the author of a new book written by a girl who was a Muslim and converted to Christianity. The book was released on 5 March 2009.

The book – and the article – highlight how she lived in the UK, was raped by her father who was an imam, how she faced a forced marriage at 16 and fled her family, and then became a Christian.
She then feared for her life when they tried to kill her.

The author, “Hannah”, is now married… She wants to highlight the plight of Muslim women in Britain.

Several people have already sent this to me – it is an amazing story.

The book:
The Imam’s Daughter, by “Hannah Shah”.
Please Click Here for details of the book on Amazon.”

Australian Prayer Network Newsletter: Why The Secular Left Despise Christianity

By Ron Carlson of Christian Ministries International

Many people in the Evangelical Christian community fail to understand the true underlying cause of the Secular Left’s antagonism for Evangelical Christianity.  Many Christians assume it is because of our opposition to abortion, or the homosexual lifestyle, or our desire for alternative theories to evolution to be taught in the classroom; and while all of these are related to the Secular Left’s vitriol, none of them strike to the core of the matter.  No, there is a much deeper and far less recognized cause for the Secular Left’s animosity for the Evangelical Christian community.

What lies at the heart of the division between the Secular Left and Evangelical Christianity is a debate over the nature of truth. Evangelical Christians believe that truth is objective and universal, which means that there is absolute truth which applies to all people, in all cultures, for all times.  Evangelicals recognize that this objective and absolute truth is found ultimately in the one true God of the universe and in His revelation given to us personally in Jesus Christ and in the Bible. More Than 1,000 Syrian Leaders Attend Premiere Of Gospel Film

Syrian Leaders(Virginia Beach, Virginia, March 10, 2009) — This morning on the Christian Broadcasting Network’s “700 Club,” I was interviewed about Inside The Revolution. I spoke about the Iranian nuclear threat to the U.S. and Israel, as well as the good news from Iran — that more than 1 million Shia Muslims there have come to faith in Jesus Christ over the past thirty years.

Just before lunch, I spoke to several hundred CBN employees about some of the amazing stories I have personally witnessed of how the God of the Bible is transforming lives throughout the Muslim world, and spreading the message of the gospel throughout the epicenter.

Just after I spoke, I receive an email from a friend in the Middle East with the latest piece of good news from that region. Last week, as you’ll recall, I alerted you to the fact that a major motion picture about the life of the Apostle Paul and how he came to faith in Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus was going to premiere in the Syrian capital. I also asked you to pray that God would bless the showing of the film entitled, Damascus. (more…)

Varieties Of Intolerance: Religious And Secular

By Cardinal George Pell

Cardinal George PellLet me begin with two tales of intolerance.

On November 4 last year, the day Barack Obama was elected president of the United States, California and two other states also voted to amend their constitutions to define marriage as between a man and a woman only. This brought to 29 the number of American states with constitutional amendments recognizing only marriage between a man and a woman as valid, including Arizona which amended its constitution in 2008 after rejecting a proposed amendment in 2006. 42 states also have statutes defending the traditional understanding of marriage1. Only Massachusetts and Connecticut have legalized same-sex marriage – by court decisions, not legislation – and California’s Supreme Court had also legalized same sex marriage in May 2008, when it struck down a marriage amendment made to the state constitution in 2000. The new amendment passed last November – known as Proposition 8 – is now itself before the California Supreme Court, which yesterday [March 5] heard argument in three cases claiming it is unconstitutional. We can expect a decision from the court within the next three months2. (more…)

Iran Adds Tomb Of Mordechai And Esther To Its National Heritage List

Tomb of Mordechai & EstherBy Teresa Neumann

“Next to the mausoleum lies a large hollow in the ground, which Iranian Jews believe to be an entrance to a tunnel that stretches all the way to Jerusalem.”

(Iran)—Arutz Sheva reports that a few months ago Iran took the rather unusual step of adding a Jewish holy site to its National Heritage List. The site—the tomb of Mordechai and Esther—are now under official government protection and responsibility. (more…)
