I regret forthcoming ministry in India will prevent my hearing Lord Moncton this September.
However a few years back when he and Prof Plimer were guests at an IPA luncheon in the city, I shared with Lord Christopher that despite its non conformity I had become much impressed with the scientific plausibility of a six, twenty four hour day creation hypothesis.
His response was most gracious and in no way prejudicial, but I sensed he found it difficulty to entertain my viewpoint.
Would I be right in thinking that he has since come to a young earth viewpoint consistent with others who allow God to tell us how things are in HIS Word?
This may be significant for the survival of Western Judeo-Christian culture, given the observations made in Patrick Johnson’s most excellent ongoing survey of global religions.
He notes that although the people of Algeria and present day Turkey had come to Christ in early centuries, they had not withstood Islamic persecution, because they lacked God’s Word in their own language. Not so the Armenians or Ethiopians, both of whom retained God’s Word in their own language, such that they were able to be nourished by it and prevail in their Christian faith, despite great persecution.
Today’s modern West, with idiotic arrogance has defied God ‘head on’ and brazenly dismissed God’s emphatically detailed specification of the Creation week. As an alienated, unsaved juvenile, desperately seeking God, I openned the book of Genesis and read the first two chapters. After which I closed the book and for the next 15 years sought elsewhere else for the meaning of life. This was because I had been taught that the cosmos took not a single week, but billions of years to come into being. So if the most emphatic (in your face) chapters were so wrong (or needed some unknowable formula) to reliably know what they were saying, how could I place any confidence, in any part of the far less emphatically part of God’s Word?
Subjective (post modern) lawlessness has thus reduced the authority and meaning of all Scripture to nothing more that relativistic conjecture, Thus its content has functionally become as useless and unbelievable to us as when it was written in Latin that few of us could read.
How can a book that has become indecipherable provide meaning or instruction to God’s needy people?
The Bible may be in a person’s language, but when anti-theologians have overwhelmed Scriptural accounts with flaky pseudo scientific Evolutionism how can anyone really trust they are certain as to what God is ‘trying'(sic) to say?
Consequently the Postmodern West, cannot survive the coming persecution, because it no longer has a believable translation of God’s holy Word, to nourish and sustain it, during unimaginable persecution that only Christ can get us through?

The clarity of God’s un-subjectivised Word in early centuries empowered Christians with to righteously resolve legal disputes for the people, when Roman law had become too corrupted.
Today, there is great need for Church unity that can only happen by agreeing with God’s Word first and foremost, then we, more than Sharia might regain a rightful place of authority, granted to us by the people, to fairly, justly and honestly resolve disputes.

Remarkable man, the Lord Christopher. Burned a hole in my download allowance, it’s such a pleasure listening to him. Of course, the science is not in fact ‘settled’. The statistical fact that the models are all wrong is settled. The fact that they were doomed to be wrong from the outset is settled.
Climate science is so sophisticated it goes close to being out of this world. In a sense, climate is like gravity. God is at one end of the force of gravity, “upholding the pillars of the Earth”; and we are on the other end, being upheld. The blather of anyone claiming in effect to be God by claiming to understand climate science ranks with the chap who jumped off the tower, having convinced himself that his powers were greater than those of ordinary mortals. He, along with the audience, instantly discovered otherwise. God may uphold the pillars of the Earth but he cannot be tagged onto for the ride by those who think they uphold the pillars!
The politicians have been fooled into playing God. No drop of rain or change of wind ever happened without supernatural input. The science says the same. It is way out there, beyond any hope of mathematical simulation.
I suspect Lord Christopher was sure of his ground from the outset because he has a mathematical and bible influenced approach.
I have published on the topic — geology being pivotal here — a leading on-line paper under ‘Climate Moderation’, as intimated previously. Who should feature largely in the introductory climate change movie but Pastor Danny himself. Thank you God and thank you Pastor Danny. Do feel free to give the good lord a copy if you retain a disc.
