Sri Lanka – 21st September – A Call To Prayer
5 Comments Published by Office 2 August 24th, 2007 in Christian Church Issues, Sri LankaDear Friends and Family in Christ,  (from Pastor Danny)
Â
As I’ve been crying out in persistent prayer to the Lord for Australia’s Transformation, I’ve been constantly mindful of my home country of birth, Sri Lanka, (currently both the families of my wife and I are living there) which has been devastated by civil war for the past 25 years.
Â
I feel at times for Sri Lanka as Nehemiah felt for Jerusalem, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.†When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.†Nehemiah 1:3-4
Â
In the recent past a group of Pastors, originally from Sri Lanka, met in Melbourne to call the Church in Australia to unite together in urgent prayer for the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka. For those who have a heart and burden for the nation of Sri Lanka, I would greatly appreciate it if you could make it to the urgent prayer meeting on the 21st September. If you’re not living in the Melbourne area, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take some time, especially on the 21st September, to uphold all of the precious people of Sri Lanka in prayer.Â

Thanking You For Your Prayer Support.
Greetings in Christ Jesus to Danny, Jason and Catch the Fire
How timely is your email! God is doing a work in many Christians. I have been taking our Bible Study Group through Nehemiah as I believe it to have great correlations on how the ‘Church’ should live out their faith.
Nehemiah was a great Godly man. Just last night (Wednesday 22) after finishing our study on Chapter 4 one of our members declared we should be praying for situations that affect brothers and sisters in Christ the world over as we are moved by the Spirit.
God has moved Danny in regards to Sri Lanka – I trust He is moving many more people to pray just as Nehemiah did for the ‘Jerusalem’ that He puts on our hearts.
Yours in Christ Jesus Graeme van Brummelen
Dearly beloved Ps Danny,
SHALOM! This is Borsha here, Ps Cedric’s & Jerome La Brooy’s cousin. (The drug addict from Bethany that Jesus saved in 1975)
I am so happy to hear of you through my cousin Chris Glewis (Australia) as he forwarded your email on prayer for Sri Lanka. This is great and much needed issue at the moment. Thanks for thinking of your home land, some forget but blessed to know you are.
God is doing great things in the midst of the turmoil and war. I am at the moment planting two churches one here at my home in Ratmalana and Seeduwa, and also having many outreach meetings.
I am sending this email through my cousin Chris, as I could not found your personal email on your website.
Love for you and the family and the lost! Errol Eardly EVANGELIST / Errol Eardly Ministries
Dear Danny and Jason,
Greetings! In response to your email of 23 August, 2007. We shall pray for Sri Lanka, the People and Your families. I (Keith) shall be in Israel involved in street evangelism from 31 August to 03 October, 2007.
Our love to you all. Yours in His exciting service, Keith and Joan Penman.
I was also born in Sri Lanka to Finnish missionary parents, who spent 5 years sharing about the love of Jesus. I cannot come to Melbourne, but will put aside time to pray with you tomorrow. BLESS YOU
