“I can only imagine what was going on inside to give up his life to save his brother, even though he was petrified of water. He is our little hero.”
A CNN.com report notes the courageous actions by some of those trapped by the horrific flooding in Australia this week.
In one instance, Queensland teenager Jordan Rice sacrificed his own life to save his brother’s when the family became trapped in their car as a sudden flash flood overtook it. (Photo: CNN.com)
Jordan, his mother and his younger brother, Blake, struggled to survive on the roof of the car, as they waited for rescuers to help them to safety. When help arrived planning to take Jordan first, he demanded that they save his little brother and mother before him.
Blake was rescued, but it was too late to help either Jordan or his mom. The boy’s father, John Tyson, who had not been with them at the time, told a local newspaper, “Jordan can’t swim and is terrified of water. But when the man went to rescue him, he said ‘save my brother first.’
“I can only imagine what was going on inside to give up his life to save his brother, even though he was petrified of water. He is our little hero,” said Tyson.
Evidence suggests it’s fastest growing faith on Earth
Posted on WorldNetDaily on December 31, 2010 2011
What is the fastest-growing religion on Earth?
Most news reports suggest it is Islam.
But the evidence suggests a new, or, perhaps, original form of biblically inspired evangelical Christianity is sweeping through places like China, Africa, India and Southeast Asia – making it, by far, the fastest growing faith on the planet.
In “Megashift,” author Jim Rutz coins a new phrase to define this fast-growing segment of the population. He calls them “core apostolics” – or “the new saints who are at the heart of the mushrooming kingdom of God.”
Rutz makes the point that Christianity is overlooked as the fastest-growing faith in the world because most surveys look at the traditional Protestant denominations and the Roman Catholic Church while ignoring Christian believers who have no part of either.
He says there are 707 million “switched-on disciples” who fit into this new category and that this “church” is exploding in growth.
Dear family & friends in Christ across this Great South Land of the Holy Spirit,
1) I am sure many of you would have hardly slept last night as you would have been praying and storming heaven on behalf of our nation, in particular for Queensland.
Personally, I hardly slept myself as I kept getting up all through the night and was led to pray in tongues for most part of the night. I asked God that there should be no lives lost. I am sure many of you would have done the same. I was also watching the breaking news.
I thank God with all my heart that the breaking news this morning was that “NO LIVES WERE LOST and NO REPORTS OF ANY INJURIESâ€. Isn’t this amazing!
A category 5 Cyclone rips through parts of Queensland, with winds of up to 285KM’s an hour, and there were no casualties. This is an amazing miracle, although there has been major damage to property and infrastructure.
Already there are encouraging reports coming out of Queensland.
This morning I was speaking to Pastor Adam who lives in Cairns. He told me that 16 born-again Christians, his family and a few from his church gathered at their home and spent a few hours in worship, praise and prayer last night. While the cyclone was passing through they were playing their guitars and worshipping the Lord.

Dear family and friends in Christ in Australia and around the World,
Â
This urgent and very serious message came from the Lord at the prophetic intercessory prayer meeting today 2/2/11, at Catch the Fire Ministries Apostolic Centre in Melbourne, (Hallam), Australia.
Â
As around 50 intercessory prayer warriors met to prayerfully seek the Lord from 10am – 2pm at our ministry and church base regarding the crisis with Cyclone Yasi (expected to hit the North Eastern part of Queensland sometime soon), we were burdened with the ferocity and possible destruction of peoples lives, livelihoods, devastation of land, homes, and the intense repercussions this will have on our nation of Australia.
We worshipped the Lord in His holiness and then began to pray on our knees before the Lord around the map of Australia. Many prayed and began to beseech (cry out to) the Lord for this situation. As this happened, it became apparent that God was speaking and making His voice heard and Pastor Daniel began weeping and physically struggling as others prayed. Almost overcome, he shared the following with those God had gathered to pray, “God will not allow me to pray for the cyclone not to happen (for His protection) as He is making it clear to me that this is to happen… many will look to Him in their time of need and know Him. Hearts will become softened by the situation and many will cry out and know His salvation.â€
Pr Daniel went on to state, “God just reminded me of the people of God how they refused to go to the promised land and were planning to stone Moses, Caleb & Joshua. They then wanted to elect a leader and go back to Egypt. How God wanted to lift His protection off them, so that they may be destroyed, but Moses got in the way and pleaded with God to protect them. God did protect them, but they never entered the promised land (Numbers 14 ).
It is very sad that this dark chapter in Australia’s history is led by an atheist Prime Minister in Julia Gillard and an openly homosexual Greens leader who seems to be the Deputy Prime Minister by default, both who have no regard for God nor Prayer.
Catch the Fire Ministries president Dr Daniel Nalliah said Julia Gillard was not elected by the majority of the Australian people, but rather the personal decision of two power hungry independent MPs who catapulted Ms Gillard to the top job.
“Are we Aussies all paying for that decision? It is very well known that throughout history, in a time of national crisis, Kings, Prime Ministers and Presidents of countries around the world have turned to God, irrespective of whether they were Christian, Buddhist, Hindu or Muslim and asked for help or at least called the nation to pray for protection and for the victims of the disaster,†Dr Nalliah said.
“However, for the past several weeks, right through the flood crisis across Australia, I have not heard our Prime Minister call the people of Australia to pray and ask God for protection and for help for the tens of thousands of people who have become victims of this major disaster,†he said.
“Even the secular media personalities stated several times, ‘Our prayers and thoughts are with you’, but did we hear our PM make any such statements at all or did I just miss out on it?â€
Dr Nalliah said, conversely under the Howard Government when Australia was going through a major drought crisis, he recalled how Mr Howard called on the nation to pray for rain in 2007, then followed a National Prayer Gathering in Federal Parliament on 22 October 2007. Within 24 hours the rains started pouring down in many parts of Australia.

Dear family and friends in Christ across Australia,
We first want to thank the Lord for answered prayer regarding the Murray river in Victoria not reaching its expected peak, as you would know that there were 3 rivers all coming together in one place and Swan Hill in Victoria was about to face major disaster. However, glory to our Heavenly Father as He once again answered the earnest prayer of His children!
I was speaking to a farmer from the area who brought it to my attention that the 3 rivers suddenly started to stagger their flow of water, therefore resulting in the expected water not coming together all at once. It was as though someone was holding up the water and sending it little by little. I was thinking of how the Lord God supernaturally held up the river Jordan for the Israelites to cross.
Praise be to our sovereign Creator God that Swan Hill did not go under water as predicted by the news media. The disaster was definitely averted through prayer.
Now the breaking news in Australia is that there are 2 Cyclones rapidly approaching our shores, Cyclone Bianca heading towards WA and Cyclone Yasi heading towards QLD.

Dear family & friends in Christ,
1) We give all praise, honour, and glory to our wonderful Lord and Saviour, as hundreds of lives have been so powerfully transformed over the last few days at CTFM in Hallam (Melbourne) that they will never be the same again!
Around 250 people gathered each night at Catch The Fire Apostolic Centre in Hallam to hear the powerfully anointed Word of God preached by Rev Donnie Swaggart from last Thursday 27th through Sunday night 30th January.
Some people travelled 3-4 hours from country Victoria and others from interstate to be at these Revival meetings and to receive a great impartation from the Holy Spirit through the man of God. Every night people entered into the presence of God in worship and were soaked in the anointing of the Holy Ghost!
As brother Donnie got up each night to preach, the people of God were ready to receive the Word of the Lord with great excitement and much joy!
God used His servant to really challenge His people to ‘Rise up and take a stand for Jesus. Stop compromising the Word of God, but speak it out boldly and with love!â€

Even with arms and legs, most people have not surfed in Waikiki Beach, conducted a 60-piece orchestra, gone to the slums of India and Egypt, or performed circus stunts for a Hollywood movie. But a man born without limbs did all that and more by the age of 27.
Nick Vujicic, known worldwide through his YouTube videos and DVDs, wants to challenge people to live without limits by looking at what he can do despite his disability. His new book, Life Without Limits: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life, takes a personal look at his struggles growing up, including depression and suicidal thoughts, and how he overcame them.
“Too often we tell ourselves we aren’t smart enough or attractive enough or talented enough to pursue our dreams,†writes Vujicic, an inspirational speaker and evangelist. “What’s worse is that when you consider yourself unworthy, you are putting limits on how God can work through you.â€

Ted Williams, “Man with Golden Voice,” Speaks
(CBS)Â Ted Williams, the homeless man with the pitch-perfect voice found panhandling on the side of an Interstate highway ramp in Columbus, Ohio, apparently won’t be homeless – or jobless for long.
He was spotted by a reporter, who made a video of Williams that went viral on YouTube, attracting three million hits.
Then, he appeared in an exclusive interview on “The Early Show” Wednesday. And he’s been inundated with job offers ever since.
But his biggest wish is – to reunite with his 90-year-old mother, Julia Williams, who’s back in Brooklyn, where he grew up.
And Ted flew to New York to finally see his mom again.
Dear family & friends in Christ,
So much has happened right across our nation over the last weekend, but amongst it all, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for His powerful hand at work in our nation of Australia!
Although we are experiencing only a little of God’s manifest presence right now in the Body of Christ and Nation of Australia, we are sure we will soon experience a mighty spiritual outpouring of His Holy Spirit throughout our Great South Land with a supernatural flood of Living Water from Heaven’s Throne Room, washing and cleansing our Nation, preparing her for the soon coming of our Bridegroom Saviour, Lord, Judge, and King!
Pr Daniel ministered on the weekend gone by on Kangaroo Island in South Australia in revival meetings which were organised by the Uniting Church leadership on the island. Many Churches and Pastors from the island united as one to seek the Father’s heart for our nation as the Spirit of God moved most powerfully touching many lives and healing many others. The people gathered were absolutely blessed and were set on fire for Jesus!
Pr Daniel stated, ‘I am so glad to see the body of Christ unite as one to seek the Father’s heart. Particularly, I was very excited to see the 2 Uniting Church Ministers, both ladies, so much on fire for Jesus. They even prophesied over me and challenged me to keep standing for Jesus. I was wondering to myself, is this really happening? Uniting Church Ministers praying in tongues and prophesying. Well, glory to God there are many Uniting Church Leaders who have refused to compromise their stand for Jesus. They are under constant attack, but praise God they are part of the remnant rising up to take a stand for Jesus. I believe that the Lord is rising up His remnant from every denomination as the Kingdom of God. I thank the Lord for the opportunity he has given me as I travel all over Australia to work with the body of Christ, and not just one particular denomination. They are a faceless and nameless people who I believe will rise up and lead an end-time revival move of God’s Holy Spirit!”
Dear family & friends in Christ across Australia and around the World,
We thank our faithful Heavenly Father for the tremendous answer to yesterday’s prayers as the Brisbane river did not reach its expected peak. Thank you so much for praying.
When around 100 Bible-believing God-fearing Christians gathered at the Victorian Parliament steps yesterday 12th January a few people asked Pr Daniel as to why he gave such short notice regarding the prayer meeting. He responded, “It was because the need was immediate and he had the sudden prompting of the Holy Spirit to stand in the gap for the Queensland and our nation of Australia. It was not so much about how many people came for the meeting as it was about Bible-believing God-fearing Christians around the nation uniting in prayer and standing together in the gap for our nation.â€
We thank God that last night Channel 9 and Channel 7 News covered part of the prayer meeting on the steps of the Victorian Parliament, taking the need for prayer to homes all across Australia.

Dear family & friends in Christ in Australia and around the World,
Firstly, We want to praise and thank our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for stopping the rain just in time in downtown Melbourne, so that we could have the prayer meeting on the steps of Parliament.Â
For those of you living out of Melbourne, there was heavy rain pouring down all night and early morning, but after we prayerfully asked our faithful Heavenly Father to stop the rain so that we could have the prayer meeting, He answered our prayers. Glory to God.
Around 100 Bible-believing God-fearing Christians from many churches, denominations & cultures dared the rain and gathered today Wednesday 12th January 2011 at midday at the Victorian Parliament steps in Melbourne to prayerfully repent and stand in the gap for our nation of Australia, particularly for the flood crisis in QLD and the fires in WA.
We thank and praise our prayer answering God that thousands more gathered around the country at the same time to bring our nation of Australia before the Lord’s heavenly throne of grace and mercy to seek Him to heal our land as in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.
It was a very rare sight to witness around 100 Christians fall on their knees in repentance and prayer, kneeling right on the steps of the Victorian Parliament in full view of all the public in the city of Melbourne.
