Franklin Graham: There is ‘No Compromise’ on Abortion, Gay Marriage

Christian Post on Friday, May 18, 2012

In an article published in the May issue of Decision Magazine, evangelist Franklin Graham says there is no room for compromise in the upcoming presidential election, especially on the topics of abortion and same-sex marriage.” I realize our nation needs constructive, wise policies for the economy, national defense, energy and a number of other key concerns. My lifetime spans 12 presidents, some liberal and some conservative. They have approached these topics with different policies. At least there is some room for sincere debate on these issues,” Graham writes in the article dated May 1.

“However, there is no place for compromise on straightforward moral issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage. God has given us clear, biblical direction that we must follow and obey.”

Graham argues that to have a relationship with Jesus is to both trust him and obey him, and therefore what is stated explicitly in the Bible should be taken as the Lord’s law.

Graham begins his argument by discussing the issue of abortion, saying, “As a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I believe this is a non-negotiable issue.”

“Abortion is wrong. It is the murder of unborn children, and no law of the land and no party platform can ever legitimize it,” the minister states. The second “moral flashpoint” Graham speaks on is same-sex marriage, writing, “the Bible clearly defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman. There is absolutely no gray area.” (more…)

Over 9,000 Evangelical Leaders Conclude Joint Prayer Event in World’s Largest Muslim Country

By Luiza Oleszczuk – Christian Post Reporter – May 19, 2012

Friday concluded five days of prayer and discussion for more than 9,000 evangelical church leaders from over 60 countries who assembled in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, for the World Prayer Assembly (WPA), a grand Evangelical event that kicked off Monday after four years of preparations.

The WPA, believed to be the world’s largest Christian intercessory prayer event, reportedly received permission from the government of the predominantly Muslim country, and home to the world’s largest Muslim population, to invite Christians from countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, Laos, Vietnam, Egypt, China, and even North Korea. The WPA events were held at the 11,000-seat Sentul International Convention Center in Jakarta and other venues.

Each day, participants were able to select from a dozen or more workshops and seminars addressing a variety of issues confronting the global church. All week, a 24-7 prayer room has been filled with people, sources said.

Thursday night, leaders were joined by other Indonesian Christians, all of whom together amounted to over 100,000, sources told CP, nearly making the 80,000-seat Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, where they assembled for a church service, burst at the seams. The evangelical leaders joined their prayers and minds to ponder the best ways of spreading the Gospel to the largest territory possible and instigate unity within Christianity itself, sources told The Christian Post.

Deaf ears open and Holy Spirit breakthroughs as people from 10 churches unite to worship the Lord in Geelong, Victoria / Cancer healed

Dear family & friends in Christ,

All glory to God for another mighty weekend in His awesome presence!

Pr Daniel ministered at a Baptist church in Geelong, Victoria last Sunday. We thank God for a lovely group of Baptist believers who were so hungry for the Word and presence of God. The church possibly had double their normal numbers, as many had heard of the CTFM team ministering at the church and came for the Holy Spirit revival services.

The worship was really great, as the worship leader was really tuned into the presence of God, opening up heaven, for an awesome move of the Holy Ghost at both services!

Pr Daniel shared his testimony and the vision to take Australia for Jesus by 2020. At both services people were powerfully touched by the Word of God, and many responded to the altar call. It was so great to see people from 10 different churches at the services.

An elderly man, who was fully deaf in his right ear and 95% deaf in his left ear, came up for prayer with his wife. Many watched as Pr Daniel placed his hands on both ears and prayed for healing. We thank God immediately the man’s ears started opening up and started to hear from both ears! Many others who came to the altar received a mighty touch from God.

Five Reasons Christians Should Continue to Oppose Gay Marriage

Friday, May 11, 2012 – By Kevin DeYoung , CP Guest Contributor

Yesterday, to no one’s surprise, President Obama revealed in an interview that after some “evolution” he has “concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.” This after the Vice-President came out last Sunday strongly in favor of gay marriage. Not coincidentally, the New York Times ran an article on Tuesday (an election day with a marriage amendment on one ballot) about how popular and not controversial gay television characters have become. In other words, everyone else has grown up so why don’t you? It can seem like the whole world is having a gay old time, with conservative Christians the only ones refusing to party.

The temptation, then, is for Christians go silent and give up the marriage fight: “It’s no use staying in this battle,” we think to ourselves. “We don’t have to change our personal position. We’ll keep speaking the truth and upholding the Bible in our churches, but getting worked up over gay marriage in the public square is counter productive. It’s a waste of time. It makes us look bad. It ruins our witness. And we’ve already lost. Time to throw in the towel.” I understand that temptation. It is an easier way. But I do not think it is the right way, the God glorifying way, or the way of love.

Here are five reasons Christians should continue to publicly and winsomely oppose bestowing the term and institution of marriage upon same-sex couples:

1. Every time the issue of gay marriage has been put to a vote by the people, the people have voted to uphold traditional marriage. Even in California. In fact, the amendment passed in North Carolina on Tuesday by a wider margin (61-39) than a similar measure passed six years ago in Virginia (57-42). The amendment passed in North Carolina, a swing state Obama carried in 2008, by 22 percentage points. We should not think that gay marriage in all the land is a foregone conclusion. To date 30 states have constitutionally defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

Obama endorses gay ‘marriage’: says support based on Jesus, Golden Rule

by Ben Johnson May 09, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 9, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – President Barack Obama has flip-flopped on gay “marriage” for the second time, endorsing same-sex marriage in an interview today, in which he said his decision was motivated in part by his Christian faith and his belief in the Golden Rule.

“I’ve just concluded that for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married,” Obama told ABC News reporter Robin Roberts in an interview to air this evening.

He added that his wife, Michelle, agreed with him. “We’ve talked about it over the years and she, you know, she feels the same way,” he said.

“We are both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us at odds with the views of others,” Obama stated, “but, you know, when we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing Himself on our behalf, but it’s also the Golden Rule.”

He explained his foot-dragging reticence to support full same-sex “marriage” by saying he “was sensitive to the fact that, for a lot of people, the word marriage was something that evokes very powerful traditions – religious beliefs and so forth.”

RUA Party SA Great Breakthough / Many challenged by Pr Daniel Scot regarding the dangers of Islamic Sharia Law in Australia

Dear family & friends in Christ,

1) It is with great joy we announce that Rise Up Australia Party is now on track to contest the next Federal Election also in South Australia!

Pr Daniel spoke at a gathering in Adelaide on the 9th of May and was very successful in setting up a state team to run the operation in South Australia for the next Federal Election in November 2013.

Pr Daniel stated, “I am so happy to see people rising up and being willing to take a stand for our nation Australia. One main reason for this is that the general public are absolutely fed up with our current government and most political parties. We have a great opportunity to step into Parliament right now. We cannot and must not miss this wave. I have spoken to many Christians and non-Christians alike. Interestingly, the response is the same, ‘We need change’ and I say, ‘Yes, we can do it’”.

2) On Sunday, which was Mother’s Day, Pr Jenny Jack from CTFM brought a great word on ‘Why women and men are equal in the sight of God‘. Many were mightily touched by the Word and Spirit of God. Pr Daniel called all the mothers to come up to the front and then he laid hands and prayed for them. Many of them received prophetic words from the Lord and were mighty impacted by the presence and power of God.

At the evening service, Pr Daniel Scot, along with his wife, ministered the powerful Word of the Lord. He spoke on the topic of ‘Why Islamic Sharia Law is bad law’.  Many people who came to the meeting were shocked to learn as to what is real Islamic Sharia Law. Pr Daniel Scot and Pr Daniel Nalliah had both lived under Sharia Law in Pakistan & Saudi Arabia, and know very well as to how this law will destroy our nation of Australia.

This meeting was also live webcast, although the video was out, due to technical failure.  Nevertheless, we thank God that the audio carried through without any interruptions. Yesterday morning we received good feedback from those who listened to it. We are so sorry for the video dropping out.

Pr Daniel Scot’s speech was very well received by the people. He spoke of how Australia will lose its freedoms and identity if Islamic Sharia Law is introduced. He quoted many references from the Koran to back up every statement he made. This very challenging and informative message is a must watch on DVD. You may order your copy for $15 + $5 postage, by emailing angelene@reformationharvestfire.com or calling Angeline at CTFM on 03 9794 8211.

Islamic Sharia Law is bad law, Hear the two Danny’s to Speak on Sunday 13th May at 6.30pm at CTFM

Media Release – For immediate release

In 2002 the Islamic Council of Victoria brought an allegation of vilification against Pastor Daniel Nalliah of Catch the Fire Ministries and Pastor Daniel Scot, which resulted in a court battle that lasted for almost five years. This court case, better known as the two Danny’s case, was a highly publicized court case that received much coverage by the Australian and international media.

The two Danny’s successfully defended themselves and won the court battle for freedom of speech in the Victorian Supreme Court, when the three judges overturned the VCAT decision, clearing the two Pastors any wrong doing and upholding their basic rights of freedom of speech in a democratic nation. This decision resulted in most state governments rejecting the racial and religious vilification laws across Australia.

After ten years, the two Danny’s together will be addressing a gathering this Sunday the 13th of May at 6.30pm at the Catch The Fire Ministries base at 23 Melverton Dr in Hallam, Victoria, and will be speaking on ‘Why Islamic Sharia Law is bad law and should not be tolerated or accommodated in Australia’.

Pastor Daniel Nalliah, who is also the founding President of the new political party Rise Up Australia Party – ‘Keep Australian, Australian’, will be running a national campaign in the next federal election.

He stated this morning, “I lived and worked for two years with my family in Saudi Arabia and know very well the effects of Islamic Sharia Law. It is bad law, it is from the dark ages. We in the West should not touch it, as it completely goes against everything we stand for. France, Germany, UK and many nations in Europe who have embraced some parts of Islamic Sharia Law, under the banner of Multiculturalism, now regret doing so, although it seems a bit too late for them.

Half of All Americans Believe Bible, Quran, Book of Mormon Hold Same Truths

By Stoyan Zaimov , Christian Post Reporter – April 17, 2012

An in-depth study released by the Barna Group on behalf of the American Bible Society found that 50 percent of Americans believe the Bible, Quran and the Book of Mormon hold different expressions of the same truths. The survey also found that Americans’ reliance on the Bible has decreased slightly in 2012 from 2011, although the Christian holy book retains an important place in people’s lives.

The study, which was conducted in March and surveyed over 2,000 adults through phone and online interviews, found that 85 percent of American households own a Bible – although that number was down from 88 percent in 2011. Similarly, 48 percent agreed that the Bible has all the knowledge needed to live a meaningful life, while that number was 53 percent in 2011.

Mormonism, which has been in the news lately because of Mitt Romney, the likely GOP presidential candidate and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, registered a slight gain in terms of recognition – six percent of people interviewed said the Book of Mormon is sacred or holy, which is up two percent from 2011. The Bible, on the other hand, dropped by four percent to 82 percent in the same question.

The survey’s findings suggest that “Americans desire to read the Bible more and turn to it for the answers to life questions but have an increasingly less reverent view of its contents,” David Kinnaman, president of Barna Group, said in a press release.

Muslim gang jailed for kidnapping and raping two girls as part of their Eid celebrations

By Katherine Faulkner  20 April 2012

A group of Muslim men who abducted and raped two teenage girls as part of their Eid celebrations laughed in court yesterday as they were jailed for a total of 38 years.

The girls, aged 15 and 16, were lured miles from their home to a dingy hostel.

In a horrifying weekend-long ordeal, they were plied with alcohol and repeatedly raped by two men, Shamrez Rashid and Amar Hussain, before being offered to a number of others who also ‘used them for sex’.

The 16-year old was forced to have sex six times with four different men.

The younger victim was raped by one man and then sexually assaulted by another.

One defendant, Rashid, 20, was said to have claimed the girls had enjoyed the sex, which he said had taken place as they celebrated the Muslim festival of Eid. (more…)

Rise Up Good Soldiers for Jesus / Former Mormon receives Lord at CTFM

Dear family & friends in Christ,

1) Glory to God for another amazing weekend in His glorious presence!

On Sunday past, Pr Daniel preached on the 3 categories of people in the church, the Visionaries, the Leaders and the Followers. He used the story of Moses leading the people out of bondage into freedom.

Pr Daniel stated, “Where there is no vision people perish. Where there is vision people are always excited as they know that they have a cause to fight for. Where there is vision there is a mission to accomplish and you will see people with great passion following the visionary.

Moses had a great encounter with God at the burning bush, where he received the vision to set His people, who were captives, free from Egypt. This started off a great journey to lead Israel into freedom.

Have you had a real encounter with God?? We need to set the captives free!!

Moses encountered many challenges. He was challenged from the outside by Pharaoh and the Egyptians. He also faced challenges from within, including his own leaders and the Israelites. No matter who challenges you, if God has called you and appointed you for the task, you must stand up and be a good soldier for Jesus with boldness, guts and love.

Indian mother forced to abort 5 daughters

by Peter BaklinskMon Apr 23, 2012 14:22

AHMEDABAD, India, April 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After the horrific experience of being forced to abort five daughters, a mother in India has risen from the ashes to become a champion for Indian wives and mothers who suffer abuse, rejection, and even torture from a husband or in-laws who, in a male-obsessed culture, demand a male heir, reports the Times of India.

Amisha Bhatt, 36, was coerced to undergo illegal ultrasounds to determine the sex of her babies between August 2001 and January 2009. When each test revealed that Amisha was pregnant with a girl, her husband and in-laws relentlessly forced her to abort. Her first daughter was aborted immediately after her first ultrasound visit in August 2001.

“My husband and his parents are obsessed with having a boy in the family,” Amisha told the Ahmedabad Mirror in 2009. “They don’t consider me a human being. They think I am a [baby making] machine,” she said.

“In the past nine years, they have coerced me into aborting five female fetuses.”

Click ‘like’ if you want to END ABORTION!One of Amisha’s daughters was remarkably spared the terrible fate of her sisters. “When I was pregnant the third time, I had gone for a wedding where I fell ill and was packed off to my parents’ place. This is how I gave birth to a girl child Kamya,” said Amisha to the Times of India in 2009.

ABC 4 Corners TV Program – The shocking expose of a practice hidden within Australia’s migrant communities – the forced marriage of young girls – organised by their families and supported by religious leaders

Dear friends and family in Christ,

For your ongoing prayerful interest, we’re forwarding the following video link (44 min) to ABC 4 Corners Television Program ‘Without Consent’ and written report, regarding the shocking expose of a practice hidden within Australia’s migrant communities – the forced marriage of young girls – organised by their families and supported by religious leaders.

http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/stories/2012/03/29/3466537.htm

By Sarah Ferguson and Deb Masters – April 3, 2012

What happens when young, educated, Australian-born girls are forced into unwanted marriages – often with relatives overseas?

Samia was just seventeen when her father announced he was taking her on a holiday overseas. But this was a holiday with a difference. Back in the family’s village in rural Pakistan, Samia watched in horror as the local Imam walked in ready to conduct her marriage to her first cousin – without her consent. With pressure from her extended family, she was given papers to sign and threatened.Returning to Australia, Samia sought help from local religious authorities in Sydney – but they ignored her and told her to accept the marriage.
