Though many respect Iyanla Vanzant, 60 year old host of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network, not everyone believes the spiritual leader can live up to the title of her show—namely, Bishop T.D. Jakes.
On Sunday morning, Feb. 16, during an altar call at his The Potter’s House, the 56-year-old Dallas mega pastor, known for being outspoken on pop culture issues, said, “You don’t need Iyanla to fix your life.”
His statement, which was met with applause, was not a direct indictment against Vanzant, though it could be taken that way, but rather, a small part of a larger point.
In context, the popular pastor, who has toured with both Vanzant and Oprah as part of the media mogul’s “Lifeclass,” was discussing the supernatural power of Jesus Christ and how only the son of God could truly fix anyone.
“Salvation is free. You don’t have to labor for it. You don’t have to fix up for it. You don’t have change yourself and then come and present yourself worthy to come,” Jakes said.
Dear family & friends in Christ,
Last week on Wednesday the 5th of March we received an email from a mother who was desperate for a miracle from God and wanted prayer for her daughter who was in Monash ICU in Clayton. The daughter had undergone a operation to remove a cyst which was touching the brain.
However, things did not go as planned after the operation.
Prompted by the Holy Spirit, Pr Daniel went to the Monash ICU with 2 others from CTFM. When they met the family, the mother told them that the doctor had said that this 14 year old girl might not walk, talk or recognise anyone. If at all, it might take a very long time for her to do so. Since this family were born-again Christian believers from another local church, many were already praying for this young girl.
At this point Pr Daniel anointed the girl with oil and prayed for a miracle. In the natural it seemed not good at all, but praise God that in all things are possible in the supernatural in Jesus name! Pr Daniel rebuked the spirit of death and declared that this young girl will walk, talk and recognise her parents. He also shared some of the amazing miracles which had happened at Monash ICU in the past few months, which resulted in the salvation of around 100 souls.

We’re hearing of women and whole families coming to Christ, which is significant. Normally we would know of individual men but, as the culture places such importance on the family unit, this is a major step forward.
One girl is writing hymns and posting them on the Internet. That was where she learned of Christ and has “met” workers, although she has yet to meet other Christians face to face. Two of her sisters also believe in Christ. A Bahraini across the country is gifted in playing local Arabic instruments. He puts her hymns to music and posts them on YouTube.
Media Makes a Difference
Another young girl came to Christ through media. When her parents found out, they were incensed and made attempts to marry her to a fanatical Muslim. People began to pray for her, and their prayers were answered when the wedding to this man was canceled. The family’s emotional abuse ceased, and her sister, having seen her bear up under suffering, has come to Christ.
One brother, Yazid*, was introduced to Christ through visions and dreams. Bored, he was surfing the Internet at work when the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to him to read the Injil and learn about Christ. He downloaded it and began to read the Scriptures. Every time he returned to his desk, God told him to read more. At first it was like a dark cloud, as he began at Genesis, but he read through until the Gospels when the darkness lifted and he understood.

Dear family & friends in Christ,

1) We thank and praise God for a wonderful weekend in Toowoomba, QLD where Pr Daniel and a team from Brisbane ministered last Friday, Saturday & Sunday at Shiloh Centre.
All meetings were well attended as people travelled from many locations from within and around Toowoomba. Some drove 3 & 1/2 hours and camped out for the weekend. We thank God for people with such passion for Jesus.
We thank God for the many people who were mightily blessed through Pr Daniel’s ministry under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Many were weeping at the altar and came forward to stand in the gap and pray for Australia. The Senior Minister of the church and ministry stated, “We are fully supportive of the vision to take Australia for Jesus. We will stand with you Pr Daniel. You are God’s gift to Australia.”

Pr Daniel stated, “I was so blessed by the amazing love and commitment these people demonstrated to extend the Kingdom of God. I was so blessed to hear that five people from this church stood as candidates with Rise Up Australia Party at the last federal election and that the Pastor and all the congregation fully supported them. I take my hat off for people with such a heart for Australia.”
2) Pr Daniel will be ministering God’s prophetic Word and praying for people this Sunday 2nd March at the 9.30am & 6:30pm worship services at our new CTFM premises at 30 Star Crescent in Hallam, Melbourne.
Please note that this service will be live webcast at www.reformationharvestfire.com beginning at 10:30am (AEDT).

Every year, hundreds of unwanted babies are abandoned on the streets of Seoul, South Korea. To do something about the crisis, Pastor Lee Jong-rak at the Jusarang Orphanage created the Baby Box.
The Baby Box is a drop box on the side of the orphanage where someone can safely leave an unwanted infant. Lined with blankets, the box is heated to keep the baby warm. When an infant is placed in the box, an alarm alerts a staff member to bring the baby inside.
The culture in South Korea places heavy value on physical perfection, so many of the infants left in the Baby Box were born with disabilities, including deafness, blindness, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.
Since 1998, the orphanage has taken in dozens of children, and raised and loved them. That’s dozens of miraculous stories of faith and love, dozens of tragedies averted.
“One of the mothers told me that she had poison to kill both herself and her baby,” Lee said. “So I told her, ‘Don’t do that. Come here with your baby.'”

Mint, a former sex worker, now makes jewelry that helps support the work of NightLight International. (RNS photo by Bear Guerra)
A small delicate silver cross hangs around Mint’s neck, a charm she reaches for nervously from time to time as she speaks.
Mint is her nickname, an Anglicized version of the long Thai name she was given and would rather not make public. As a former prostitute, the 24-year-old is concerned about bringing shame to her family, though she says everyone in her village in the northeastern province of Issan —a poor agricultural region along the border with Cambodia and Laos—would assume, or simply know, she had to be doing sex work to send money back home.
Everyone in Bangkok knows how it works. Many of the countless massage parlors, go-go bars and karaoke joints peppered throughout the city are frequently thinly veiled fronts for prostitution. Heavily made-up girls hang around in the periphery of joints catering to Western tourists. Most of the Asian customers, including Thai men, head to brothels and bars elsewhere, away from the sex tourism districts.

Benny Hinn, controversial evangelist known for his “miracle healing crusades,” is one of the main speakers at a Christian Prayer Conference being held this month in Bangalore, India. As with his last visit in 2005, Hinn’s engagement has set off protests among locals concerned that the charismatic preacher will be flying into the country with “a hidden agenda.”
An estimated 2,000 Hindus gathered in Bangalore, in the State of Karnataka, on Friday, Jan. 3 to demand that government officials bar Hinn from attending the Christian Prayer Conference. The event, scheduled for Jan. 15-17, is being hosted by the local Bethel Assembly of God Church.
“Hinn is coming to Karnataka with a hidden agenda of converting Hindus to Christianity as he did when he visited Bangalore in 2005. Several organizations are secretly working for the success of the event,” representatives of protesting groups were quoted as saying.
Bethel Assembly of God Church organizers insist that the Christian Prayer Conference will not be a “healing crusade,” but that ministry participants will provide prayer for the sick, according to the Bangalore Mirror. The publication notes that the entry fee for the prayer meeting is $13 (850 Indian rupees), less than seven percent of the average monthly income in India.
When Hinn visited Bangalore in 2005 for a “Festival of Blessings” event, several court cases were reportedly filed against the evangelist with plaintiffs claiming his purpose for being in the country was to convert locals to Christianity. The U.S. evangelist’s presence was so disturbing to some that protesters reportedly set fires throughout the city, and 10,000 law enforcement officials were deployed at the Jakkur airfield where the crusade was attended by more than 7 million people.

Though many think slavery is a thing of the past, more than 29.8 million people are held captive as slaves today, according to a comprehensive report from Australia-based Walk Free Foundation. The majority of victims are located outside the U.S., with nearly half—14 million—in India.
That’s why Project Rescue focuses on rescuing and restoring sex-trade victims in India. Since its founding in 1997, in the red light district of Mumbai, the ministry has helped more than 24,000 women and children affected by sexual slavery and now serves in 15 locations throughout India, Nepal, Moldova, Bangladesh, Tajikistan and Spain.
Lucy, the director of a girls’ home in North India who did not share her last name for security reasons, explains that mothers who work in brothels often give their children to Project Rescue to temporarily provide custody of the children and bring them to a safe house. There, the children are cared for around the clock and attend Christian schools.
“Every time we take a child out of the brothels, it is physically and spiritually bringing them out of darkness into light,” Lucy says. “It’s been amazing to see the transformational power of Jesus—to see a child who was abused, scared and angry, and watch them over the course of months blossom.”
Dear friends & family in Christ, Please pray for Pr Daniel who will be ministering at Holy Spirit revival meetings on the Gold Coast on Saturday 8th February at 7pm…

With Victoria and Tasmania now allowing abortion up to birth, and forcing doctors to refer a patient to a doctor who they know will perform and abortion, it is vital that we know the truth about abortion. It is also important that women are provided with all the information – when the Victorian law was passed, amendments aimed at providing that information to women were defeated. Here’s some news from the past month or so…This email has three parts: First is a moving interview with Anne Lastman, who lives in Melbourne and runs a ministry called ‘Victims of Abortion’. Anne counsels women who are suffering pain and hurt following an abortion, and has written a book titled Redeeming Grief. The interview was published in National Review Online. The other two parts relate to new evidence about the link between abortion and breast cancer. The latest research comes from China and India.Of particular note is a new book, written by Dr Angela Lanfranchi – she has compiled much of the information about the consequences of abortion to a new book titled Complications: Abortion’s impact on women . . .1. Abortion HurtsThe interview with Anne Lastman about the hurt of abortion… Abortion Hurts – that’s the title of the interview with Anne Lastman… (more…) |
