A MOVE OF GOD’S SPIRIT TOUCHING THE ABORIGINAL PEOPLE

Rev John Blacket of Khesed Ministries reports of signs of an incredible renewal among indigenous Australians and clear expectations that this move of God’s Spirit will impact non-indigenous Australians and migrants as well in this land. Upon returning from a recent trip to Central Australia Mr Blacket said “Many young Aborigines in Central Australia and Arnhem Land have turned to Jesus Christ from drugs and petrol sniffing, worshipping the Lord in new songs in their own languages.

There is deep repentance that we haven’t seen for over 25 years.” Mr Blacket went on “There is also a lot of prayer and symbolic acts for healing the land, and a move to work through deep cultural issues like we have never seen. So many of our dreams and heart cries of 20 years are beginning to happen! But there is a need for a Holy Spirit inspired revelation of God’s word – both the Word and the Spirit together. There still tends to be too much of a divide between those clinging to the historical roots of missionary evangelical teaching and literal understanding of the Bible in rather legalistic ways – and those moving in a renewed understanding of the power of the Spirit that is often lacking in Scriptural foundation.”

Acts 4:12 United Christian Strategic Meetings to counter the ‘Parliament of the World’s Religions’ in Melbourne

Dear friends and family in Christ,

We’re posting the following email from Salt Shakers for your urgent prayer and action regarding the Acts 4:12 united Christian strategic meetings to counter the Parliament of World Religions in Melbourne.

Dear Pastor/Leaders

We invite you to join us at one of three locations in Melbourne for a Pastors briefing and consultation. In December this year Melbourne will host the ‘Parliament of the World’s Religions’ – a gathering of ‘faith’ groups from around the world.

The two Men organising this event suggested to the Australian Government a few years ago that our Federal Parliament should stop being opened with an exclusively Christian prayer. They argued that this should be replaced by a rotation of prayers by the 17 ‘top’ faiths including ‘no religion’.  Some Local Councils have already adopted a roster of prayers at their suggestion and formed ‘Multi-faith Networks’ in their area.

The Dangers Of Dual Covenant Theology

Jonathan BernisFriday, 07 August 2009 – by Jonathan Bernis

Jewish leaders finally are realizing that evangelical Christians are Israel’s best friends. As a Jewish believer, I rejoice over this growing love and support for the country and the people. I am grateful for the rallies, financial support and efforts to lobby our government not to force Israel to trade land for peace.

Having said that, I have serious concern for the growing acceptance of “dual covenant theology.” It promotes the idea that Jewish people have a separate path to salvation through the Abrahamic or Mosaic covenants. In other words, Jews don’t need Jesus for personal salvation.

Proponents of this theology teach that Judaism and Christianity are valid yet distinct religions, each equally worthy of the other’s respect. They say Christians should not challenge the traditional Jewish thought that Jesus was not the Messiah.

Mr. Obama, What About The Christians Of The Middle East?

Paul BatouAINA (Assyrian International News Agency)  | August 8, 2009 | Paul Batou

AINA) — The oppression of the Iraqi Christians started when Arabs occupied the land in the seventh century. Their method of wiping out Christianity from the region involved the implementation of a simple rule: either convert and follow the Islamic banner or pay heavy taxes (which many Christians could not afford) or face war.

Looking at more modern history, the first genocide of the 20th century began on April 24, 1915. By 1918, 2.65 million Christians including 750,000 Assyrians, 1.5 million Armenians, and 400,000 Greeks were killed by the Ottoman Empire and the Kurds. The Assyrians called this genocide “seyfo” which means sword. In 1933, the massacre of Simmele, in Northern Iraq, resulted in the death of 3000 Christians at the hands of the Iraqi Army. This was the first atrocity committed by the new Iraqi state under after gaining independence from the British in 1932. My village Tin, in Northern Iraq, shared a similar fate in 1961.

The American occupation in Iraq did not end the struggles of the native Christians. Under the watch of our Democratic government and the newly established Iraqi government, Christians continue to face persecution. Here is a list of some of the acts of violence committed as reported by the Assyrian International News Agency:

When The Godly Govern

By Dave Welch
Posted on World Net Daily on August 18, 2009

I believe it necessary to pick up from last week’s column “Who’s your king?” with the recognition that while using the choice of Saul as Israel’s first king as an illustration, it appeared I was making the case that he was solely the people’s choice, not God’s. Several e-mails from studious readers properly took me to task, so let me assert that Scripture is clear. God guided Samuel, and in His sovereign plan directed him to anoint Saul (1 Samuel 9).

What cannot be overlooked is that the entire process was a result of the people rejecting the authority of God over the nation and God granting them their first wish.

It Wouldn’t Happen To The Koran: Pope Attacks Glasgow Art Gallery’s Invitation To vandalise A Bible

Pope Benedict XVIBy Graham Grant

Pope Benedict XVI believes the stunt would not have been contemplated with a copy of the Koran

The Pope has condemned a ‘ disgusting’ taxpayer-funded exhibition in which visitors are urged to deface the Bible.

Visitors were offered pens by gallery bosses so they could scrawl comments on the text – leading to a host of puerile and obscene remarks.

Pope Benedict XVI believes the stunt would not have been contemplated with a copy of the Koran.

His anger over the show, organised by council-funded arts body Culture
and Sport Glasgow, was expressed by a senior Vatican priest. (more…)

U.S. MILITARY BURNS BIBLES

Signs of The TIMES – YOU JUST REALLY DON’T WANT TO READ THIS
By W. D. Clabaugh I

You know – you wake up on a Monday Morning or Whatever morning thinking, “Perhaps today Barack Obama will start getting it right.” “Perhaps our Nation will become a righteous nation once again”. “Perhaps… was that a white bunny I seen running down that hole? Alice? Wonderland?”

The stark REALITY OF IT ALL IS NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!! AT LEAST NOT FOR THE BETTER!!!

Here we go. The Us Military is Burning Bibles in Afghanistan. Why? They don’t want to offend the Muslims there. Okay, I had to do the same thing when I heard that the first time. I even went and got a cup of coffee, walked around a bit and took a deep breath. BUT THERE IT WAS AGAIN! The Us Military is Burning Bibles in Afghanistan. Why? They don’t want to offend the Muslims there.

But WAIT! LISTEN TO THIS!!! This is a lead in from the Washington Post …

Change has certainly come to Baghdad and it involves the U.S. Embassy there. you see, they have decided this year to hold the first-ever “U.S. Embassy Gay Pride Theme Party” next Friday at Baghdaddy’s, which is the embassy employee association’s pub. Unveiling The Man Of Sin – Possible Identity Of The Antichrist

Dear family and friends in Christ around the World,

Could Prince Hassan Bin Talal Be The Anti-Christ?Pastor Danny stated, ‘In my 26 years in Christian ministry, I have repeatedly heard about the End-times, the Antichrist, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, so many times by so many different Preachers and Bible Scholars. But nothing has stirred my spirit as much as the following presentation by Dr Joe Vankoevering, a Prophetic Teacher and Scholar of the Word of God. I have always sensed so strongly that there could be a very big possibility of the Antichrist being a man from the Islamic faith.  I pray that you will be prophetically challenged and spiritually awakened to realize how close we could be to the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior!’

Following is the link to the written transcript of an excellent biblical based and prophetic DVD on the possible identity of the Antichrist, the Unveiling of the Man of Sin!

Please note that after clicking the following link to read pg 1 of the transcript, you must click each additional link to read the 14 page document page by page.

Pentecostalism, Version 20.09

By J. Lee Grady

At my second daughter’s college graduation this weekend I saw the future of our movement.

Some people twitch or roll their eyes when you say the word Pentecostal. The term conjures up outdated images of either (1) slick-haired, Bible-thumping preachers who spew saliva on the unfortunate souls seated in the first three pews, or (2) scowling women with their hair in buns who know how to scare you with glossolalia.

Say goodbye to the worn-out stereotypes. Last weekend I saw the future of the Pentecostal movement when my wife and I attended a graduation ceremony at Emmanuel College, the liberal arts school in northeast Georgia that was founded 90 years ago by the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. What we witnessed on Saturday was a refreshing reminder that God has raised up a new generation of young people who are empowered by the Holy Spirit.

“Today’s Christian college students are nauseated by any kind of religious hype, whether it’s blow-dried evangelists, insincere appeals for offerings, faked healings, goofy buzzwords or schmaltzy Christian pop music.” (more…)

Who Is The Real God? – Gospel For Asia

ASSIST News Service (ANS) – Thursday, April 30, 2009       Gospel for Asia

Bible college students learn practical ministry and spiritual disciplines.

SOUTH ASIA (ANS) — Paresh Segal did all the religious rituals that his parents taught him, but he was full of doubt. The Segals were quite wealthy because Paresh’s father was a building contractor, so their life was a little better than most people they knew.

Like most people in Asian culture, the family was very faithful to the gods and goddesses of their traditional religion. Every morning and evening. they performed devotions and prayers for one hour before the statue of their family goddess. No one ate any breakfast or dinner before the prayers. Paresh’s parents told their children that their goddess was the most superior in their whole religion and that their religion was better than any other.

Paresh submitted to his parents’ wishes and participated in all these poojas and religious festivals, but deep down in his heart, he questioned everything. He often asked himself this question:

“All religions believe that their god is the real god, but who is the real God?” (more…)

Will Obama Abandon Israel?

By Star Parker – WorldNetDaily

Barack Obama’s obvious comfort level with leaders of unfree countries shouldn’t surprise anyone. He is not only our first black president. He is also our first president who doesn’t like the free country he was elected to lead and feels his job is to change it.

Obama’s cordial encounter with Venezuelan thug Hugo Chavez and his bow of deference in London to the Saudi Arabian king are extensions of behavior we have always seen on the black left. Jesse Jackson openly embraced Chavez, as well as having maintained relations with the likes of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi and Yasser Arafat.

This should be kept in mind as our president now makes his own effort to bring peace to the Middle East.

It should be clear to anyone conscious and watching that central to Obama’s Middle East strategy is to disabuse the long-held notion that there exists a “special relationship” between the United States and Israel. The sense of unique kinship between our country and the Jewish state has existed since Israel’s founding just 60 years ago. (more…)

Most U.S. Christians Don’t Believe Satan, Holy Spirit Exist

US FlagBy Jennifer Riley – Christian Post Reporter

The majority of American Christians do not believe that Satan is a real being or that the Holy Spirit is a living entity, the latest Barna survey found.

Nearly six out of ten Christians either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed with the statement that Satan “is not a living being but is a symbol of evil,” the survey found.

Forty percent strongly agreed with the statement while 19 percent of American Christians somewhat agreed.

In contrast, about 35 percent of American Christians believe Satan is real. Twenty-six percent strongly disagreed with the statement that Satan is merely symbolic and about one-tenth (9 percent) somewhat disagreed.

The remaining eight percent of American Christians responded they were unsure what to believe about the existence of Satan. (more…)
