In the minds of many, there are no more scarier words than these: “Hi, we’re from the government and we’re here to help you”. Patronising government bureaucrats can certainly come up with some nightmarish scenarios. When governments become convinced they need to micromanage parenting, for example, they end up subsuming the role of parents – usually a recipe for disaster. Record Church Attendance a Sign of “Cultural Shift” in Australia

The AAP in Australia has reported that there were record-breaking attendances throughout Australia last weekend for services marking the Resurrection of Christ.

Anglican Dean Phillip Jensen of St. Andrew’s in Sydney believes the “increasing popularity of religious elements of Easter was indicative of a cultural shift in Australia.”

MAYBE this time, I thought. Maybe this first Australian Islamic Conference would at last show us the moderate Muslim leaders we’ve searched for.

God, we need them. Look at the latest doings of the hate-preachers we have now.

Take the Mufti of Australia, Sheik Taj el-Din al-Hilaly, who has just given interviews in Iran demanding Muslims stand “in the trenches” with its hostage-taking regime, and is now being investigated for allegedly giving $12,000 to a Lebanese propagandist linked to terrorists.

Meanwhile, the head of the Lebanese Muslim Association, which pays him to preach at Australia’s biggest mosque, has had to seek police protection for suggesting this fool had best shut up. (more…)

The attack on the faith is getting more pronounced by the day. Hot on the heels of the Da Vinci Code, we now have every media outlet on earth reporting the story that the tomb of Jesus has been found, and he must not have risen from the dead after all. According to Paul in I Cor. 15:16,17, if Jesus is not resurrected, then we can call it quits, pack out bags and go home.

The Latest Bill to Approach the House – Why “Hate Crimes” Legislation is Such a Concern

“It is conceivable that preaching or teaching against homosexual conduct could be prosecuted as conspiracy to commit a hate crime.”

No one with reasonable compassion for another, especially a Christian, would want to commit or perpetuate a hate crime. On the surface, legislation that prosecutes those who do such things seems like a positive thing. However, the hate crime legislation approaching the U.S. House of Representatives of late, similar to that which was wrestled with in the UK, could force constraints on any teaching or preaching not favorable toward homosexuality.

A Day of History making as denominations lay aside their differences, unite, and pray for the nation

It was a day of “history making” in Melbourne after more than Nearly 5,000 Christians Gather to Pray4000 people turned up for the united Australia Day prayer rally at Festival Hall in West Melbourne on Australia Day today to pray for the land and view the Prime Minister’s personal address to them.

Indigenous community was also thanked and acknowledged for “opening up” Australia.

The Crowd Pray TogetherCatch the Fire Ministries president Danny Nalliah, who hosted the major prayer event, said it was a day of “history making” in a never before seen meeting where denominational differences were cast aside.
