(Indonesia)—A report in Time Magazine—a secular publication—has recognized the explosive growth of Christianity in Indonesia.

Notes reporter Hannah Beech: “A religious revolution is transforming Indonesia. Part of the spiritual blossoming entails Muslims embracing a more conservative form of faith…More surprising, though, is the boom in Christianity—officially Indonesia’s second largest faith and a growing force throughout Asia. “Much of the growth comes from Pentecostal and evangelical conversions,” she adds, “which have spread charismatic Christianity across the globe and are a large reason for estimates that by 2050 a majority of Christians will be living in developing nations. Already, less than a quarter of the world’s 600 million Pentecostals reside in the West, where the modern movement has its roots. CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA (ANS) — Aside from the hosting of the famous FIFA soccer World Cup this June, South Africa is also making serious plans to host the world in the Global Day of Prayer (GDOP) as it celebrates 10 years of leading the world to pray.

It is slated to take place on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Newlands Rugby Stadium, Cape Town, South Africa – the venue where it all started!

Speaking on the forthcoming event, Mark Anderson, President of the Global Pastors Network (GPN) and Call2All, said that last year, the Global Day of Prayer movement which was founded by South African businessman, Graham Power, has successfully mobilized every nation on earth to gather in large crowds and small groups to pray simultaneously on the same day.
